Well, at least they tried...

Right, well with a title such as "Debbie Does Demons", then you pretty much know what kind of garbage you will be in for when you sit down to watch it. And yet, I still opted to sit down and watch the movie, on account of it being a movie that I hadn't already seen, much less heard about. And I figured that with such a title, then it would be a horror comedy.

Storywise then this was by no means award winning material. But of course, the title of the movie pretty much sets the bar for what you should expect. And I have to say that I sat down to watch "Debbie Does Demons" without any expectations at all, and still I found the storyline and script in the movie, as written by Donald Farmer and Newt Wallen, to be laughable at best. This movie was a terrible attempt at making a horror movie.

The acting performances in "Debbie Does Demons" were amateurish, wooden and rigid, to say the least. But hey, with a title such as "Debbie Does Demons", you would assume that much for the acting. So the movie didn't exactly disappoint in that department.

And it should come to no surprise that there is absolutely no familiar faces on the cast list here. And having a cast ensemble with unfamiliar faces and talents is usually something I enjoy when I watch a movie, but "Debbie Does Demons" was just not my cup of tea.

Needless to say that there was an unnecessary amount of pointless nudity throughout the course of the 74 minutes that the movie ran for. I am sure that there is an immature audience out there whom will appreciate that. But I have to say that I found it to be pointless, sleazy and just not very helpful to further the already staggering storyline.

My rating of "Debbie Does Demons" lands on a two out of ten stars. This was a pretty terrible dumpster fire of a movie.

Fails on everything but the box cover

If someone makes a movie called "Debbie Does Demons," you have to wonder who the movie is actually for. You would attract people that would enjoy watching silly shlock.

However, this movie was done by a few morbidly obese friends who don't know anything about making a film, including editing, how to set up a shot, or even how to focus. You have characters talking off screen, people constantly flubbing their lines, and clunky explanations instead of any exposition. It's just painful to watch.

There is nothing of value here. The main actress gets topless right away and after that there's nothing else to see. (In fact, it's on the disc so you can just toss it into the trash after opening the case up. ) She makes out with a monster prop for a few minutes but there's no effort to make it look like anything other than a toy she just picks up. There's no humor, action, or real story other than "a witch is trying to kill me, here are some scenes."

Watch Birdemic instead.

Avoid

Most movies have something to help redeem them. Good acting, the story, effects, cinematography, premise etc. This movie has none. Not a single good actor (I'm still convinced they aren't actors. Just randoms from the streets), no good camera shots, no good effects. Its' not even the kind of movie that you should watch just to say you've watched it. It's pure trash with nothing redeeming or worthwhile. And for this to come out around Halloween is kinda insulting.

Save yourself the trouble of sitting through this or even watching a trailer. Avoid and go stick on literally any other movie and your time won't be wasted.

Oh dear

Terrible, just terrible. The movie ooks like it's been shot on an old VHS tape in the 80s. Acting is undoubtedly the worst I've seen. The main actress has nice boobs and that's it. The 'movie' if I dare call it that, should have lasted 5 minutes and finished after the initial boob flash in my opinion. Even 70s porn movies had a plot and the actors tried to act. This movie fails on EVERY level and should be thrown in the recycle bin (but never be recycled as a movie) Probably cost £50 to make at he most. I didn't have very high expectations but if I could have given a -10 I would have. The people giving this movie more than 1 must have been involved with it's production (and I use the term loosely) Avoid like covid!

It's like a porn movie but without the sex.
diddydom-6294525 October 2023
Infact brazzers has better camera work and acting. Everything about this film is not good. The iPhone offers better image stabilization then whatever they used here. The acting was completely amateur, you can always tell because good actors don't act. Plus the story was boring and terribly paced, edited by someone who can't be very experienced. I guess the one good point is that it's quite creative with everything being so wacky and weird.

The annoying thing about this film is the last of effort, with the technology and resources we have today anyone can make a film that at least looks good as long as they put in the effort, in this film they clearly didn't.

This is not a movie, just a silly attempt at... something...
namob-4367329 October 2023
If you have missed that you can see boobs and such on the internet then you can find some of that here.

One problem is that the production value is about the same level as 3rd grade kids with a cellphone. Another issue is that the acting, if it can be called that, is far worse than in any porno. The third issue is that nothing make any sense.

The only positive is that you can sometimes chuckle a bit at the silliness like when the witch says that her captive is a virgin. Yea, sure, and I am Marc Antony.

I dunno what this is, but it is certainly not a movie. Not in any conventional sense. I give this a very generous 1/10 since I cannot go lower. By the way, none of the actors in this movie can go very low either since there is way too much in the way of being able to bend.

Low budget amateur attempt
Floated224 December 2023
The cover art poster of this film is nice looking and one of the better things about this movie. Didn't have high expectations given the overall rating and its cast. Jessa Flux has appeared in several other lower budget films within the last few years showing skin in about each film and is the only noticeable actress. The other "actors" simply don't seem like actual actors.

Many problems with this film mainly its story and overall cheap looking quality. Besides the subpar acting, the camera work isn't great and the sound varies. The story just isn't interesting and mostly drags. It's supposed to be a horror but comes off as silly. Nothing more to add to this film which hasn't already been said. It's more of a fanfare vanity project than an actual movie.

Could've been better

Warning: Spoilers
I bought this movie and couldn't get over the fact that the editing reminds me of a bad film class project. I kinda enjoyed the plot. The acting could've been better, I suggest you save your time and watch at your own risk. Some scenes just made no sense like the one scene where that actor/actress said those lines and the "special effects" happened. The 300 year old demon walking around the house naked didn't need to be there but that's only this reviewers opinion. I also live in the city this "film" was shot which is a interesting footnote. Then the demon made out with the creature, total cringe.

A highly enjoyable and generally enjoyable Exploitation-style throwback
Looking for a new topic for her show, the hostess of a paranormal TV show is recruited to help a group of friends who have accidentally summoned a centuries-old witch looking to unleash a demonic army of creatures on humanity and must hurry to stop her before her plans come true.

There's quite a lot to like with the cheesy slice of exploitation throwback genre fare. A lot of that comes from the central setup involving a great source to offer up this type of material. The initial backstory of the witch including the recreation of her initial encounter with the witchfinder that captured her and condemned her soul to the underworld only to be resurrected again in the modern day offers up the type of cheesy and silly setup necessary here. Given that her amorous antics are so centerstage that they include full-on nude interactions with others to seduce or arouse them in addition to taking control of her victims so that there's no resistance to her charms even when shown in a demonic state as she attempts to continue on her quest to complete the resurrection spell she was undergoing before getting stopped, this works quite nicely overall. With this established, the films' reliance on cheap and cheesy genre features and confrontations makes for some likable genre fare. With the opening of her capture and eventual resurrection in the house due to the Ouija Board counter that allows her to bring the other friends under her control through several strong seduction sequences, these are filled with cheesy goodness. Once she gets loose and is able to let her helpers attack those around the one who got free, the means of introducing the TV show hostess and letting them get together for the big showdown gets quite fun with the type of goofy spectacle displayed. Beyond these scenes, other interactions here with the demonic creatures including the witch fornicating with a demon puppet or a TV show segment of a priest interacting with vampiric nuns offer the kind of silly conceptual imagery that is quite effective at indulging in the concepts portrayed throughout here, and combined with the copious nudity featured here all provide the film with a lot to like. There really isn't much to bring this down. The main factor against this one is the cheap and cheesy tone and atmosphere that might not be worthwhile for most out there. The guerilla-style production style here of filming everything close-up on-location, with flimsy effects, anachronistic anatomical exploits, and a goofy presentation of everything that's going on around the film that is all featured heavily and prominently here tends to bring about this type of attitude to the point that some might not be that invested in it should be pretty obvious depending on the talent and origins of those involved with this but those who aren't aware can very easily fall afoul of this one due to these issues even if they're not overly detrimental in the slightest.

Rated Unrated/R: Continuous Nudity, Graphic Violence, and Graphic Language.

I will not refer to this vomit as a movie.
ry-014856 November 2023
We get more cellulite than story or acting in this abomination.

Seriously, everyone but 2 of the actors(I call them that for lack of another name)are overweight. The 2 who aren't are anorexic with bad skin, bad hair, and no bodies.

The blond who plays the witch has a beautiful face, pretty hair and nice tits but she needs to lose about 40 pounds and learn to act.

Seriously, the acting would have been better if performed by a chimp. Maybe it wasn't the acting, maybe is was bad writing and bad directing because both are horrible.

I'm sure this movie was the only chance for some of the actors to act, and I'm sure they'll never get another offer after this vomit, but some of the actors have been in a bunch of movies. My question is, why would you act in this knowing that it will hurt your career? There's o way thewy got paid well because you can see from the quality that it had no budget.

But keep up the horrible work, I may begin to make movies and I'll let everyone watch this before my movie so mine will seem so much better than what it is.

Fun for what it is.

Debbie Does Demons is an SOV low budget indie film from director Donald Farmer.

I read the other users reviews and some of them are pretty harsh. Even if you don't like the film the there is absolutely no reason to criticize the actors or actresses weight. The comment stating a certain actress needed to lose 40 pounds was extremely uncalled for! Again, if you don't like a movie or someone's performance fine, but it is absolutely not okay to critique peoples body types or weight. The point of a review is to give your opinion on the film or an actors performance, not their body type and their breasts.

Anyway four friends resurrect a 300 year old witch using a Ouija board. One of the friends is a direct descendant of the witch, Carmilla (Jessa Flux).

A couple of people come to Debbie (Angel Bradford) for help against Carmilla. Debbie is the host of a late night horror program, in the same vein as the Peter Vincent character from the 1985 film Fright Night.

The film itself is SOV, meaning shot on video. That is why the film looks the way that it does, and that's why the image is jumpy at times. The image quality is intentionally the way it is. Thought I would address this since so many people were knit picking about this.

Remember this is an Indie horror film. It's not a big budget Hollywood Blockbuster. The cast is good for this type of project. Roni Jonah, Angel Bradford, and Jessa Flux are standouts.

I own the Blu Ray. I'm pleased with my purchase.
