Pretty good ... for a net series
kosmasp29 November 2010
And definitely better than the prequel to this (and the first 30 Days of Night movie). It starts off were the other one left us. And has quite a few nice names to it (Ted Raimi, Shawnee "Saw" Smith and Ken "Dawn of the Dead" Foree amongst them). It flows nicely does not try to convince through fast editing (as the previous net show tried so hard) and has a core to it that works.

The flaws are still there (again with the "next time on" and 10-30 seconds of re-watching what happened in the previous episode last, not counting the credits at the beginning) and they are time consuming, but if you look over that, you might find a short show that can convince you!

this one was better than ...

this episode was much better than 30 days: blood trails. i thought so anyway aha, :] this one was less violent you could say then the other one's but i liked the story line and Shawnee Smith was in it ... she's awesome :] aha.

i definitely like the movie more though. 30 days of night was great .. maybe not the greatest movie ever ... but great. aha, :] i know not many people like this series but it's not that bad.

you should at least give this episode a chance. :]

i promise you will like this one. if you don't then maybe this series is not for you. but i will admit this is the only episode i liked lol, :]

Nothing much here

I'm not sure what this was or why it was made, but it appears to be an Internet-produced sequel to 30 DAYS OF NIGHT. As much of the plot as I can make out, a young woman is slowly turning into a vampire while some vampires ramble about New Orleans. A tenuous connection is made to the 2007 movie, but the vampires here bear little resemblance to the vampires from the movie. If anything, this looks like a student or fan-made film. A single episode of SUPERNATURAL contains better production values and thrills than this odd little offering. One decent scene has the vampire girl, played by a decent-looking blonde, putting the bite on a really hot blonde, but the scene is over in seconds. It could have been much more erotic, with overtones of CARMILLA and lesbianism, in the hands of a more competent director.

Not worth seeing unless you really really love 30 days of Night Warning: Spoilers
"30 Days of Night: Dust to Dust" is an American English-language short film (series) from 2007, so this one has its 10th anniversary this year. The director is Ben Ketai and if you take a look at the title, then you already know what this is based on. You can watch it either as a mini-series where it runs for roughly 36 minutes or as a movie where it runs for roughly 30 minutes only, probably because you get an individual set of credits (and maybe an opening each time too) when you watch one of these episodes that should be running for under 5 minutes each. I personally have not seen "30 Days of Night", so I could take this little film (lets just call it like that now) as an indicator of how much I would like the famous movie, also because you will find cast members reprising their roles. But sadly, I was not too impressed here. It seemed like a generic vampire movie to me to be honest with some prison (break) action, some interhuman/-vampire relationship scenes etc. Nothing really stood out here in my opinion, which is why I must say that it did not get me curious about 30DoN at all. It's not a failure by any means, but I must still say I am somewhat glad it was this short because I felt there was nothing memorable about it. Thumbs down. Only worth seeing for the biggest fans of 30DoN or vampire movies. Everybody else can skip it.
