The premiere of the animation film took place in the military unit in the Far East.
Personnel of military life (for example, ironing kirz boots) is a personal experience of the director, since Eduard Nazarov served three years in military unit on the territory of the GDR.
During the filming of the animation Nazarov was pursued by one nightmare: in the military enlistment office he is sent to the army again, despite all the reassurance of the draftee. As soon as the film "About Sidorov Vova" was finished, the dream stopped dreaming.
According to Eduard Uspenskiy, this animation is his most favorite adaptation.
The leitmotif of the animation film was the song of Vladimir Shainskiy "Two Winters" on the verses of Mikhail Plyatskovskiy.
