Heaven's Gain is Our Loss!
Sylviastel21 July 2008
It seems like only yesterday that Heath Ledger left us. His death was sudden and unexpected. As somebody once said, when it's your time it's your time to go. With the death of Heath Ledger by an accident of over-medication, Heath is finally getting the rest that he desperately was seeking for in heaven than on earth. This one hour is a loving tribute with cast members like mini-me's Verne Troyer showing genuine tears as he talked about his friend, Heath. In fact, nobody says anything negative about Heath's life except that he was taken too soon. There are some moments like the sex scenes between him and Jake Gyllenhall in Brokeback Mountain that could have been left on the cutting room floor. Other than that in a short hour, Heath is fondly remembered by co-stars, friends, and colleagues as a warm-hearted wonderful human being. In fact, I wish that there were more men like Heath around. Nobody has forgotten the daughter that he left behind too.

nice tribute

First of all, I want to say that this report is awesome! It's great and lovely, to review Heath Ledger's life, because he was a great actor, person and he deserves it. Nobody says anything negative about Heath's life, so maybe this is a sign that he was really a good person gone too soon. Leave a two year old daughter who is his father image, and he's still with us, because he lives in her. I'm from Spain, and I wanted to know if there's any possibility to get this report. I watched it in Youtube, but it can be download. So if someone knows any page where I can find a link to download it, I'll be very pleased, because here in Spain, we don't have "True Hollywood Story" and it's impossible for me to get the report. Thank you in advance, and I repeat, it's a very nice tribute to him.

A truly beautiful story about a truly beautiful human being...

Warning: Spoilers
I finally got to view this program two days ago, as it re-aired on E! and I was thoroughly impressed by it's overall presentation. Usually, the True Hollywood Stories focus more on the detrimental side of fame, and all of the bad things that befall the highlighted individual, but not in this case. This episode spotlighted the hard work, the devotion, and the talent of Heath, without slandering his name any worse than the media has already done. It tells of how a very shy, very humble boy found his niche in the acting world, and how he never really did come into his own before his untimely passing in January. It doesn't dwell on his downfalls, his romantic failures, or alleged drug problems that the media has singled out to sell a story. It focuses more-so on his personality; that vibrant, timid, kind-hearted, passionate fellow that few actually knew. With a lot of candid interviews and videos, it gives the viewer a glimpse into what Heath Ledger was really like as a person, and not just a movie star. It tells a story of a painfully shy young man that makes movies for the sheer passion of acting, and not for fame and notoriety. Heath's talent was immense, but what was stronger still, was his love for his beautiful daughter, Matilda. I love how this program shows all aspects of this wonderful man, to give us an honest, down-to-earth view of what he was like, and what we truly lost on January 22nd, 2008. If there were more actors like Heath Ledger in Hollywood, the world would be a better place, I guarantee it. Even if you're not a die-hard LedgerHead like I am, I still think this story will appeal to your human aspects. The most touching part for me was near the end, when it told the story of his tragic death, and aired part of an extremely emotional interview with "Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus" co-star, Verne Troyer. He was brought to tears even speaking of Heath, and the type of person that he was. If it were possible to give this program more than 10 stars, I would. It deserves every single one, and Heath Ledger was one of a kind. Thank goodness this show was so tastefully made as a tribute to his life. Thank you, E! for giving one of my favorite actors a proper send-off, and making a program that I'm sure his daughter would be proud to watch a few years from now.
