I enter through a grand wooden door of a mansion in Monterey, CA - we're talking Big Little Lies status with sweeping views of the Pacific in front of me. I'm there to interview Drew Barrymore, who is in the midst of an elaborate photo shoot for Barrymore Wines, a wine label she has developed in partnership with Carmel Road. She has just released the 2016 Monterey Rosé of Pinot Noir ($23), a wine I'll try while catching up with the ever-quotable actress. As I step into the foyer, Drew cuts across the room, half sandwich in hand to take her lunch break. She stops upon recognition and draws me in for a hug. "It's been a year," Drew sighs. "What a year it's been," I echo. Last April, we sat at a sunny window seat, sipped Rosé a little too early in the day, and discussed everything but her relationship status...

Pierce Fulton continues to prove his reputation as one of dance music’s more forward thinking producers as he injects funk and gospel influences into his latest song, “Losing You.” Fulton manages to merge the disparate elements of the new release into a cohesive whole that weighs heavy with dance floor charm.
“Losing You” kicks off with a muted four bar intro that establishes a catchy groove before massive soul vocals fill the speakers. Complete with organs and a blaring horn section, “Losing You” exhibits an organic sound that draws influence from a number of genres without ever sacrificing its inherent groove.
According to Fulton himself, the new release underwent as many as ten different versions over the last three years before the producer settled on the final product, and we’re glad he didn’t give up on it before arriving at the song we hear today. “Losing You...

Solange Knowles made a splash when she hit the red carpet at the Met Gala in New York City on Monday. The "Losing You" singer seemed to give big sister Beyoncé, who was also in attendance, a shout-out by dressing in a bright yellow ensemble, which could reference Bey's new album, Lemonade. While Solange's history with the Met Gala hasn't exactly been smooth (that infamous elevator incident with Jay Z happened in 2014, and she also attended with Rachel Roy, the rumored "Becky with the good hair," in 2012), she appeared to have a great time this year. After the event, Solange, who took a dig at a mystery Met Gala guest via Twitter, met up with her sister at the Balmain and Olivier Rousteing afterparty. Keep reading to see more of her night, then check out her wild outfit from 2015!

By now you've seen Beyoncé's instant-classic "Formation" video hundreds of times. The fashion! The quotes! The middle fingers! It's impossible to look away — or watch without wanting to know more about every little detail. What's this fuss you've likely heard about stolen footage? And who are those people not named Beyoncé slaying all over the track? To answer those questions and more, Vulture did a quick investigation into all things "Formation." Let's get information! Director Though originally misreported as having been self-directed by Beyoncé, "Formation's" actual director is none other than Melina Matsoukas. She won a Grammy for directing Rihanna's "We Found Love" video, and has directed eight other Beyoncé videos since 2007, most recently "Pretty Hurts." Matsoukas has also directed videos for Solange Knowles ("Losing You," "I Decided") and Jay Z ("Run"). Her work on "Formation," however, has not been without controversy. Shortly after the video's release, producer Chris...

We know, we know…you're busy. Between work, drinks and after-hour events, ain't nobody got time for a wardrobe change…unless you're a celebrity, that is. The stars are masters of day-to-night style transformations. Sure, they have stylists and a treasure trove of clothes to wade through, but they also utilize styling tricks that we can also use to help elevate our own multifunctional looks. For inspiration, we turn to three of our favorite style stars. Keep it monochromatic: Take the queen of eclectic, indie-aspirational style, Ms. Solange Knowles. By day, the "Losing You" singer keeps it casual at the Charles de Gaulle airport in all white. She pairs the monochromatic look with a soft...

It’s silly to have the expectation that Hollywood could have some sort of courageous or moral center. That’s not the point of TheWrap’s list of Hollywood’s wussiest moves.
But when you consider that networks decided more people would want to watch “The Big Bang Theory,” “Grey’s Anatomy” or “The Biggest Loser,” than President Barack Obama’s landmark immigration speech in November, then you have to wonder if Hollywood and the media should at least be called out for their questionable decisions.

Then again, the outfit the "Losing You" singer wore to the Met Gala (when all that crazy went down) was pink and fluffy, whereas this Calvin Klein sheath is sexy and metallic, so our theory might not hold much water. Coachella's Saturday evening was packed with surprise appearances from stars new and old, who dropped in on each others' performances on virtually every stage at the massive festival. Solange's Gobi Tent performance was bolstered by an appearance from big sister Beyoncé, who hopped onstage and contributed some dance moves to Solange's hit "Losing You," much to the appreciation of the crowd. (Warning - the clip below does contain profanity.) Bey's hubby Jay-z appeared to bury a historical hatchet on Saturday, joining rapper Nas (with whom he had a long-time feud in the '90s and '00s) for "Dead Presidents" and "Where I'm From.

Pulling out the ultimate sister card! Solange Knowles may not be in the spotlight quite as much as Beyonce (who is?), but the 27-year-old musician revealed during a radio interview this week that having Queen Bey as her older sister has had its perks. Back in the day, the younger Knowles fought off one particular bully by letting him know who she was related to. "I wrote petitions to get this kid named Brandon out of school," the "Losing You" singer told Angie Martinez of Hot 97 [...]...

James Franco's book has been made into a movie, courtesy of Francis Ford Coppola's granddaughter Gia Coppola. Marking Gia's feature debut as a writer and director, "Palo Alto" premiered at the Telluride Film Festival on August 29 -- and Vulture has released a sneak-peek trailer, featuring stars Franco and Emma Roberts.
"In every town," the trailer reads, "there are girls looking for love, boys looking for trouble, men looking for both." The movie concerns a series of intersecting micro-threads, with Franco playing a high school soccer coach who falls for one of his players (Roberts) and Nat Wolff and Jack Kilmer, whose father Val is also in the movie, co-starring as a couple of troubled kids.
The movie could be disjointed, especially considering it's based on a series of short stories, but visually it looks amazing -- and the music is by super-producer Dev Hynes (who produced Solange Knowles...

While the biggest names are the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Mgmt, TV On The Radio and My Bloody Valentine, we don't need to tell you what you already know. Those bands are headlining, the crowds will be there. But for a fresher experience, check out our suggestions for the top 6 bands that you don't want to miss.

Solange Knowles needs a time out. Citing her "mental/physical health," the "Losing You" singer -- and younger sister to Beyonce -- has canceled a slew of European music festival concert dates in order to regroup at home with her 8-year-old son, Julez, and work on a new album. "I am completely devastated to announce that I will be canceling my international festival dates for the summer," the rising star, 27, said in a statement. "I wish I could put in words how much of a [...]...

The Pitchfork Music Festival was in high gear Saturday, packed with artists comprising the heaviest of the weekend's performances -- and lots of screaming.
Ear plugs were a must for most of Saturday when the likes of The Swans, Savages and The Breeders took the noise to tinnitus-inducing levels. All the bands on the darker side of the rock spectrum shredded and screamed under the (still hot!) sun until Solange cooled things off her exuberant early-evening grooves.
Here's our roundup of Saturday's highlights (story continues after the slideshow):
Phosphorescent was among the few poppier, harmonious acts amid a day packed with screamers. Noodle-y electronic burts gave their mellow songs a jolt of psych-summer jamminess -- all to great effect -- while songs like "Nothing Was Stolen" ranked among the day's finest examples of vocal harmonies. Perhaps knowing Saturday would have such moments in short supply, the band capped off...

I was just ranting to Snicks about this, but I don’t understand having a favorite Police song other than “King of Pain.” It’s rollicking, the lyrics work, Alanis Morissette covered it once, and it has nothing to do with namedropping Nabokov. I suppose “Can’t Stand Losing You” works too, because creepy pop songs about suicide are the best. (Snicks prefers “Synchronicity II,” “Spirits in the Material World,” and “Wrapped Around Your Finger,” for the record. Weirdo.)
Anyway, a concert duet of “King of Pain” has surfaced featuring Sting and Lady Gaga, and it’s the best version of the song you’ll ever hear. Ms. Germanotta is sporting teal streaks and some Stevie Nicks drapery, and Sting is (of course) wearing Underarmour, basically. Excellent performance.

All smiles on her special day, Solange Knowles left the Morgan Hotel in Dublin, Ireland on Monday (June 24).
Sporting braids down past her waist, the talented musician celebrated her 27th birthday in a multicolored jacket, shiny black pants, and heels.
In town for the Body & Soul Festival, the "Losing You" singer tweeted, "The Irish moon at this moment is the greatest gift I could have ever asked for."
Recently, Solange high-tailed it from Los Angeles for the East Coast, settling in Brooklyn, New York with her son, Julez. Speaking about the move to Brooklyn Magazine, she explained, "It’s such a beautiful feeling, but also having that village is a necessary reality so that I’m able to pursue my passion both outside of motherhood and outside of my career.”...

The Lonely Island released their second song this week, miseducating listeners everywhere about punctuation in a new track entitled "Semicolon."
The rap/comedy trio teamed up with Solange, sister of Beyonce who has grown into a hit artist in her own right with the song "Losing You" (although we'll never forget her star turn in "Bring It On: All or Nothing.") The song uses the style of "hashtag rap," popularized by Drake, in which they describe a noun before naming it at the end of each line, with references to Alf, Ralph Macchio and Steve Urkel.
The narrator/teacher in the song, voiced by Maya Rudolph, is obviously unimpressed. Since this is The Lonely Island, it's a very Nsfw grammar lesson.
The group's new album, "The Wack Album," comes out on June 11.

There are two things we can always count on when Solange Knowles steps out on the red carpet:
1. She'll be rocking an eye-catching ensemble in a bold print or pattern.
2. Her afro (whether big or small) is always picked to perfection and all-around amazing.
The 26-year-old star certainly checked both those boxes on Sunday night while attending a New York City premiere of The Great Gatsby. She stepped out in a cream-and-black stripped dress and a full afro that's right on par with her celebrated signature style. But the singer/DJ/model didn't stop there. Solange gave us one more thing to marvel at -- her cleavage.
Although we've seen Solange show some major skin in the past, it's usually her gorgeous gams that get most of the action (see: this and that). On Sunday night, she offered up a double whammy by rocking the super short frock and super low-plunging neckline.

New city. New character. New Klaus?
The Vampire Diaries ventured to New Orleans last night for a special backdoor pilot, as The Originals took center stage and chaos reigned in The Big Easy.
What did our Round Table panel of Matt Richenthal, Steve Marsi and Miranda Wicker think of the unique episode? Would we want to see more of Marcel, Sophie and company? Gather around now and let's debate!
-------------------------------------------
What was your favorite scene from the episode?
Matt: I alluded to this in my review, but Joseph Morgan was simply terrific in that scene with Camille in front of the street painter. He scarcely said a word, yet his eyes revealed so much. And Camille's speech about demons and control made it clear there's a whole lot to this new character as well.
Steve: Let's just say Elijah would make a terrific motivational speaker in his next life.
Miranda: Daniel Gillies!

Vulture's Best Dancing 2012 honoree hit Fallon last night, and though some of her more involved moves — the half-moon Patty Cake, for example, or the Stop in the Name of Love — did not make it onto the show, Solange still did us proud. That suit! The choreography (with the band, no less). It helps that "Losing You" is just an excellent song, but do you look that cool when you do a side-shuffle in a bright green patterned leisure ensemble? (If your answer is yes, then you better have video proof to post in the comments.)...
