Sentenced to death, take seven
JordanThomasHall16 January 2017
A "wild animal" has gotten into the space capsule of stranded astronauts Mac (Frank Aletter) and Hector (Jack Mullaney). They approach with spears to find it is only a little puppy. They're ready to blast off, but return to the village of cave people to give young Breer (Pat Cardi) the puppy. The prehistoric peoples are appalled at the sight of the "Gnook". His mother Shad (Imogene Coca) explains why they are considered bad luck. Long ago everyone had Gnooks and their barking kept everyone awake, yet it was a series of disastrous events that befell from the presence of the Gnooks. Boss (Cliff Norton) finds the Gnook and sentences the astronauts to death (once again). Shad talks Boss into sparing the astronauts (once again) by having them take the Gnook back into the jungle. They return to gather their belongings to blast off, but the puppy follows them and they are once again strung up to die. Shad and Gronk (Joe E. Ross) set out to save them from the guarded watch of Clon (Mike Mazurki). Everyone runs around in the jungle after one another for a while and Boss falls into a pit of quicksand. The puppy pulls a Lassie, leading the astronauts to Boss where they have the upper hand in negotiating.

This is essentially the same plot that has been used several times in the series already, just tweaking it each time to change the cause (Boss' copper necklace, drought, a picture, breaking a wedding promise, a video camera film, a model airplane, and now a puppy). I don't mind a few reboots of a premise if there is fresh comedy in them. This is the seventh time, however, and it feels a bit tiresome to watch.
