Daryl meets Lady Daryl
zachzilla-802139 August 2021
Decent episode. Adds more context to Daryl's character which IMO is always a good thing since he's one of the main characters and yet I feel we barely know him.

Wanted to like it but didn't
maccaron7 March 2021
I was looking forward to a dive into Daryl's character but I found it very dull lacking any depth to it. Leah is very forgettable and with all the skipping they got away with showing barely any chemistry with the two. Very disappointing, Daryl as a character is just getting worse and worse which is alarming being that him and Negan are some of the characters that anyone still likes. I want to like this show but the writing has been in the decline and I'm beginning to not care. At this point I'm just waiting for the Negan episode and if they blow that one I probably won't even bother with the last season. #MakeTheWalkingDeadGreatAgain

Boring
Mila918 March 2021
What has this show turned into? This is not and has never been a part of TWD this "oh how sad" soap opera whining dialogues. They are making this a boring drama show with boring dialogues. Ever since episode 17 season 10, I can feel this different vibe and I hate it. Garbage.

Find Me is a beautifully shot episode, a character study on Daryl
Holt3448 March 2021
The Walking Dead veteran David Boyd returns to direct another episode of season 10c, and after the previous episode that brought back Maggie Rhee and her new friends that we saw cameos of in episode 10.16, also introducing a new group called Reapers. It was an excellent and suspenseful episode with quality writing. It left me with high expectations for "Find Me" which follows Daryl and Carol, they are among my favorite characters of the show so I appreciated the focus on them. The writers and director knows the characters and actors well and it's noticeable.

The episode contains flashbacks to the time Daryl were searching for Rick who he considered a brother, but we know that he never found Rick so what is this episode about? Well it's a character study that focuses on Daryl and the five years he spent in the woods, alone and with Dog. We get to see how he met the companion that the audience, me included came to love. I won't spoil anything but the episode was actually pretty good, the writers of both TWD shows really knows how to write episodes like these, Here's Not Here (6.04) and Fear's Laura (4.05). There's not much character development in the present time but we get a lot of answers in the flashbacks which was appreciated, the character interactions were amazing and the dialogue felt so natural, huge thanks to the cast as they were fantastic, Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride have such a great chemistry together and why their friendship on screen works is because of their personal friendship.

It's beautifully shot, the cinematographer did a phenomenal job. The nature and scenery is captured in such a beautiful way. There's a big difference in music than the previous episode, it had much more suspenseful music, but this music fits the pacing and vibe of the episode and I have to say I really liked it. They have so far nailed the music and ambient sound.

Two episodes down and four to go, 10c is still going strong. If you like the characters of Daryl and Carol then you'll love this episode, Norman Reedus does a terrific job as Daryl. But keep in mind, the pacing is pretty slow and there aren't much action. It's a character study.

A new facet of Daryl
noobsaibot-922047 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I don't understand the complaints that people have against the relationship between Daryl and Leah, it was good, we were given the opportunity to see a facet of Daryl that we had never seen, Covid prevented the series from having several characters in most of these episodes, which is why I'm glad that Angela Kang decided to explore some new facets for those characters. And by the way Daryl calling Rick brother is one of the best scenes of the season, just great.

A nice daryl focused episode
sebastianbejramirez8 March 2021
A dive into what daryl was doing when searching for rick. It has a lot of nice shots and an impressive score. We get to see the origin of fan favourite:dog and daryls first romance. A tame but very much enjoyable episode.

solid
beauloppens5 August 2021
Visually a very solid episode, the directors experienced with new colours and refreshing camera angles. We've got to see a new character Leah, who is compared to others interesting, realistic and well written. It has been a long time since i really cared for a (new) character on TWD and i hope to see her again. Also nice backstory of Dog.

A little gem if you ignore the last couple minutes
tristan_197 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This is episode is pretty good if you understand what it's trying to do. I've seen a lot of people criticize it, but what did you expect ? If you like Daryl and want to know what he was up to all this time looking for Rick, the search is depicted in this episode, and let me say the cinematography is awesome. It's a little more character focused, and I found Leah to be a great character from the get go. The actress has a lot of talent, and it showed. The chemistry between Daryl and Leah was also surprisingly good. I keep hoping we'll see her again in future episodes.

Now, let me address the last two minutes of the episodes. I must say it's a dangerous road to mess with the characters like this. I can't really buy Daryl being this mad at Carol and talking to her like that (I mean maybe in season one, but there was a lot of growth and character development since then). I don't know what the crew was thinking, but these two were out of character, and the whole argument between the protagonists is getting kinda old and tired. It tainted my global appreciation for sure, but otherwise, it's just a calm look into Daryl's past (except for the storm part, which was great and powerful), and Leah's addition.

Not very good.
jrippinger8 March 2021
Arguably for me one of the worst episodes of the series. Really made little sense. You could skip this episode and would not effect your understanding of the ongoing story. Oh yes, it was very boring.

Yay finally!
PhillConklin6 August 2021
Since the show began I have never cared for Daryl, not because he isn't good but because he relies on the mysterious lone wolf trope. He relies on us knowing as little about him as possible to keep up a false mystique so his dialogue is always very short or nothing at all. This is frustrating for an audience that genuinely wants to know these people more. We have seen them struggle but we don't often get a glimpse beyond that. I think this season has done a great job at letting the audience finally see Daryl, he has lots of meaningful dialogue with Carol and little Judith. It's cool because I think the writers have realized what I have all along is at some point we need to see their characters as people. I like that we finally get a glimpse into that with this will they won't they situation and we get to see him in a happy vulnerable place. It was cool. I like the chemistry between them it was convincing, and how dog rounds out their little self contained family. Even if it's a one off I hope the writing continues to move at a wise pace into this kind of character development for Daryl, doesn't mean he has to lose what makes him Daryl but at least let us see characters beyond their outward facade.

The pacing wasn't great but other than that I don't have much to critique here.

finally a great filler episode
camilosantiagox9 March 2021
I feel like every other filler episode that twd has aired isn't good, but this one is great. we got to see caryl break as a friendship, what Daryl did on the 6 year time jump and Dog's origin story. I feel like this 6 bonus episode won't be as good as the whisperer arc, but I know this aren't intended to be action episode, but to be a bridge between season 10 and the commonwealth arc

Filler episode
choueiri1018 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
What a waste of an episode.

He flashes back 5 years, then goes forward 1 year, 8 months, 6 months etc. This Leah character does not make a mention at all prior to this episode and now is thrown in to the mix. Are we to assume she will make an appearance in the following episodes for dramatic effect.

Sorry, but it's just getting frustrating with constant new characters being introduced.

I am looking forward to finishing this series but it just won't end.

Good concept executed poorly.
traffordbage7 March 2021
Before you read any more reviews about this being filler, remember it was filmed with heavy restrictions, so all of these episodes will have to be filler. They can't advance a show about zombies if all the zombies stay 2 metres apart from each other.

I'm a huge fan of this show, and I can usually see the good in every bad part of an episode. However, this is one of my least favourite episodes of the last 2 seasons. People who left this show complained about bad writing, and I think this episode only highlights what those people are saying. There are moments in this episode which feel really forced, or really out of character. And I'm not talking about the ending, I'd say if you consider all of carols actions you'd understand why that scene exists.

I was hoping for quite a character focused episode which added to Daryls character but this episode didn't quite scratch that itch. If you skipped this, you wouldn't even notice. No episode should be skippable, and this one left me feeling a bit disappointed. I hope it improves..

On a final note, I hope the intros never do that again, and that they stop using text on screen to tell us things. If we get a close up of a wound, followed by another close up where its been healed, we don't need huge text saying 3 months has passed, we get it.

Pointless

Warning: Spoilers
I don't know what the point of this episode. I'm giving it a 6 (which is very high) just for Reedus and McBride's acting at the last part. I honestly do not care who Daryl ends up with, just make it make sense. I know it's a bonus a episode but I feel like the Daryl in this episode is not the Daryl that I have watched for 8 years (I am watching since 2013).

Warning: Spoilers
Bit late for this out of nowhere flashback character insight. So Daryl had a girlfriend, and felt sad cos he lost his brother Rick. Lets talk in circles for an episode. Let's show a long building circling relationship and a surprise vanishing. Let's not achieve anything, but lets shoot it really pretty.

Daryl's long waited character relationship
andy_haha25 August 2021
I personally feel this episode was needed. It's good to see Daryl having his own emotions shown for another person in a romantic way. Not every episode can be a major one.

I watched this episode twice
diamondsfan8 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Ok so first time I watched this I was going to rate 5 but after rewatching it i kind of found some things I really enjoyed so first of all Daryl and Leah while not enough chemistry with them I can see her having some potential with Daryl but that's unlikely she will return but I have hopes carol and Daryl obviously have some heat against one another after the events of Connie we can see Daryl is sick of carols attitude which really is the worst thing of this episode since I really think carols character this season has been so stupid and just careless but aside from that the rest of the episode really felt somewhat great I understand it's boring for most people but I actually found some enjoyment my favourite part being when Daryl says he lost his brother when you'd think he is talking about Merle but to find out he was actually talking about rick was very wholesome and my favourite part of the episode yes I know one line but a very powerful line imo anyways yet again an average episode felt around the same as the last episode I'm glad I watched a 2nd time because it boosted the score to 7

Messing & Unnecessary Episode
mabisahack7 March 2021
The biggest problem with the episode is the way they decided to tell Daryl's flashback story. The melodrama soap opera style didn't fit the show and the acting was pretty flat between Norman Reedus / Daryl & Lynn Collins / Leah it felt very artificial.

The scenes between Norman Reedus character Daryl & Melissa McBride character Carol were the best scenes in the episode. The actors have easy flowing chemistry between them.

My Brother
BoulosSoueileh7 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
For those who didn't know, The six new episodes will move the story in a different way. the six new episodes wi talk about past of some characters, where some of them left, where will be going and what will happen soon. About this episode, this is a episode to break your heart, everything around Daryl is hard to watch, heartbreaking. But that was different, Daryll loved someone, That was a story had to be told before, after loosing merle, rick, beth and michonne and glenn, he found love in his heart and left him broken. " I belong with you, Find me". that was so touching by Daryl, so beautiful and hard. but the most heartbreaking moment when he referred to Rick as my brother. don't be angry because you didn't get an action episode but appreciate that after covid and all the crisis happening, they managed to deliver another great episode this week.

My favorite characters and it still couldn't hold my attention
zoeotaku2 July 2021
Probably one of my least favorite episodes ever, despite having three of my favorite characters. (Daryl, Carol and Dog)

Writing was incredibly boring and hard to follow, and I found Leah to be annoying.

Gave it 6 stars because there were some cute Carol and Daryl scenes, which was the episode's one redeeming quality.

Absolutely the worst WD episode ever
ht19838 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Daryl was SO ooc, the time jumps were ridiculous trying to cram in an entire relationship for Daryl in 44 minutes, Daryl had more chemistry with the dog than Leah. The Carol and Daryl parts were fine but honestly it's so tiresome at this point to see them constantly fighting. There's no joy left in this show. It's the same weary slog that it's been since season 7.

Not as bad as everyone thinks.
amberdunn-0606710 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I honestly didn't hate this episode or think it was as bad as everyone said it was. It's kind of nice to have a slower pace episode. I have binged this show a couple times now.. and after everything with the whisperers, I think it's nice to see what was going on with Daryl after the 6 year jump. They don't dive into him as a person much or see his vulnerability so I'm glad this episode kind of touched on that in a way. I love Daryl and what he brings to the show, plus we get to see how he became the owner of dog and just how everything kind of played out. This was a good filler episode too me.
