- The boys return to New York, where Eric meets with Gus Van Sant and Drama looks to invest some of his new fortune. Vince runs into an old girlfriend.
- Nearly broke, the guys return to Queens. The crew parties all night and sleeps all day. They literally get back home for breakfast after spending the entire night at bars. But thanks to a tip from Vince and Drama's mom, Rita Chase (Mercedes Ruehl), Eric tries to get filmmaker Gus Van Sant to cast Vince in a role. Gus Van Sant is the director of Good Will Hunting and considered brilliant. Gus is In New York working on his next project. E calls Ari, who tells E that Gus is not a fan of Vince. Vince convinces Ari to get Gus to let him audition. Ari calls E to tell him that Gus won't even let Vince audition (Gus says that he doesn't want to waste anyone's time). E knows that Vince is hurting, even though he might not show it. E decides to call Gus himself. Gus is not available, so E drives to his office & waits for hours to hand over Vince's movies to him personally.
E gives Gus, Vince's scenes from Smokejumpers & literally has to beg Gus to try and watch them. Gus retorts that E is trying to sell him on Vince's work on a $120 million movie which was shut down as its director didn't like Vince's work. E persists and says that he is not wrong about Vince. Gus agrees. E has Ari FedEx Vince's scenes from Smokejumpers to Gus. Gus calls back Vince personally to tell him that he loved his acting, but still wouldn't cast him in his movie. Vince gets really emotional and angry about losing his shot with Gus. This leads to a confrontation between Vince and Eric. Vince says that E embarrassed him as most probably Gus didn't even like the footage and didn't even let him audition. Vince says that this year they swore that they would listen to Ari, and again E didn't. Vince says that since E has been his manager, whatever he has done has got him to this point. He says 2 years ago he was starring in movies and now people wont even let him audition. E says that he only cared for what Vince wanted when nobody else cared. Vince fires him, and Eric returns to L.A.
Later, Vince reconnects with his high-school sweetheart Cara and Drama invests in a neighborhood bar, when the owner (cousin Ronnie) wins Drama over with the offer to rename it after him (Johnny Drama's). Turtle continues to try to maintain his relationship with Jamie-Lynn Sigler as a secret, despite the guys' curiosity. The next time Jamie calls and Drama snatches the phone from Turtle. Drama finds out that Turtle has been in a relationship with Jamie this whole time.
Eric's efforts turn out not to be in vain, as Van Sant forwarded Vince's reel to filmmaker Martin Scorsese, who calls Vince to say he wants Vince in the lead role of his remake of The Great Gatsby, which will film in New York City. Vince flies back to L.A. to reconcile with Eric in person. E is reluctant at first, but agrees to be Vince's manager again when he learns that Vince has landed a lead in a Scorsese movie.
