Warning: Spoilers
George tells the kids a relaxing bedtime story, about a scary Creeper who sneaks up on people and attacks them. These stories scare poor Orbitty half to death. Jane the killjoy quickly stops the stories and sends everyone to bed before they get nightmares. They do anyway. Well, Orbitty does. He envisions the family living in a haunted castle, with George as a vampire, Elroy as a mummy, Jane a witch, and Judy is Morticia Addams, I guess. This is probably the best part of the episode, too bad it didn't go on longer. Anyway, Orbitty is scared awake, he scares Elroy and the two go running around the house. Jane gives George a big "I told you so." George decides to brush up on his magic act. That's right, he's a magician in this episode. He plans to perform his so-called tricks at Mr. Spacely's Halloween party. Meanwhile at Dr. Scarem's Costume Shop and Waxite Museum, Dr. Scarem is trying to perfect his latest attraction: the Moon Monster, who is more jiggy than scary. Determined not to give in, the doctor vows he will get a new attraction. He craves new blood...and it soon comes. Elroy and Orbitty stop by to check out his costumes. Dr. Scarem is intrigued by Orbitty, having never seen anything like him before. He was perfect! The rigid alien had a bad feeling about Dr. Scarem and runs, pulling Elroy with him. The doctor's robot assistant, Edgar gives chase. Meanwhile, Mr. Spacely is determined to outdo Cogswell with an original Halloween costume. There was $10,000 riding on it. George knows of a shop in town that makes original costumes, so Spacely gives him the benefit of the doubt. Having failed to acquire his new attraction, Dr. Scarem faces going out of business and into abject poverty, when along comes George. He's looking for a new magic trick and a costume. Dr. Scarem has just the cure. He offers to give a personal demonstration right in George's home that night. The old switching tube trick...and it goes horribly awry as Scarem and Edgar actually disappear with Orbitty. George and Elroy quickly head to Dr. Scarem's and demand Orbitty back. That's when the whole plot was finally revealed: Dr. Scarem simply wanted a new costume design and Orbitty was perfect. He wasn't going to turn him into a waxite sculpture as they had assumed. Well, it all works out. George performs magic tricks that actually work, and Mr. Spacely is the hit of his party in his new Orbitty costume...until Mr. Cogswell walks in wearing the same costume, and in the event of a tie, last year's winner, Cogswell, gets the money. A furious Spacely blames George, who in a vain attempt to make himself disappear, makes Spacely disappear...unfortunately not for good.

Good episode. One of the more fun ones. Like I said, Orbitty's nightmare towards the beginning with the family as ghouls was the best part. A good title, and George's story at the beginning made this episode a real crowd pleaser. Even the mad scientist isn't too over the top. I say The Jetsons' "Haunted Halloween" is not to be missed. They also did a Christmas episode, their own version of a classic Dickens tale, but that's another story.
