Marble-mouthed “meme rapper” Yeat defies expectations on his fourth studio album, 2093, which serves as a departure from his quirky beginnings as a Young Thug clone. The album also solidifies the industrial, electronic-heavy sound he’s been developing over the past few years while unveiling a bold aesthetic vision that, while not always successful, is as ambitious as it is captivating.
This development is a relief, as Yeat’s recent wheel-spinning projects were slight variations on familiar lyrical themes and sonic concepts. On 2093, though, the rapper largely strays away from the psychedelic production palette of longtime collaborator Bynx. Instead, he appears more inclined toward beats that are louder and far more avant garde. For one, the high-octane “Breath”—which, compositionally speaking, has more in common with Edm than rap—is propelled by its deafening house bassline and a series of breathy ad-libs.

Usually “American Song Contest” reveals the results of America’s votes from the previous week in the first few minutes of the following episode. However, because the hit reality TV show is airing its Season 1 finale on Monday, May 9, the normal process wouldn’t give the yet-to-be-announced finalists enough time to prepare for their last performances. That’s why, for the first time ever, NBC is changing up its results format. The second group of Semi-Finalists, who duked it out on the big stage on Monday night, will find out their fates on “E! Pop Daily” on Wednesday morning at 8:45 a.m. Pt. Updated: Here is the complete list:

Michael Bolton returned to the “American Song Contest” stage during the Semi-Finals 2 episode and knocked the roof off the place with his uplifting anthem “Beautiful World.” Due to the way the reality TV show is structured, this two-time Grammy winner for “How Am I Supposed To Live Without You” and “When A Man Loves A Woman” hasn’t been seen since the first episode way back on March 21. Years after Katherine Heigl called working conditions on the set of “Grey’s Anatomy” “cruel and mean,” series star Ellen Pompeo stepped forward to agree with Heigl’s assessment of the long-running series.
During an episode of her podcast, “Tell Me,” Pompeo said Heigl was “absolutely correct” when she shed light on the long hours of production during a 2009 interview with David Letterman.
“I remember Heigl said something on a talk show about the insane hours we were working and she was 100 percent right,” Pompeo said this week while speaking with former “Grey’s Anatomy” star Kate Walsh. “And had she said that today, she’d be a complete hero. But she’s ahead of her time, made a statement about our crazy hours and of course, [it was like] let’s slam a woman and call her ungrateful.”

Ellen Pompeo says there’s truth to her former “Grey’s Anatomy” costar Katherine Heigl’s 2009 claims about the medical drama’s long and grueling work hours.
“Back in the day we used to do crazy, crazy hours,” Pompeo said Wednesday while reflecting on the early seasons, during an episode of her podcast “Tell Me” with her guest, “Grey’s” alum Kate Walsh.

She added, “When the truth is, she’s 100 percent honest and it’s absolutely correct what she said. She was f—ing ballsy for saying it. And she was telling the truth.

Ellen Pompeo said on a new episode of her “Tell Me” podcast that former co-star Katherine Heigl was “absolutely correct” when she called out “Grey’s Anatomy” in 2009 for unjust working hours (via People). Pompeo said Heigl was deemed “ungrateful” for her comments at the time, but if had she spoken out today “she’d be a complete hero.” Heigl was often vocal about her criticisms with “Grey’s Anatomy,” infamously pulling out of the Emmys race in 2008 because she felt the show didn’t give her strong enough material.

Macy Gray shockingly eliminated from ‘American Song Contest’ after ‘Every Night’ performance [Watch]
Macy Gray, one of the biggest stars to step foot on the “American Song Contest” stage, has just been shockingly eliminated from the competition. The “I Try” Grammy winner performed her new single “Every Night” during the second week of NBC’s reality TV show (watch above), but failed to rank high enough from the jury of 56 industry professionals to advance automatically. Macy’s fate then rested in the hands of viewers at home, which gave her a leg up due to her nationwide name recognition. However, it was revealed in the third week that the audience chose to send three other participants to the semi-finals instead.
Heads up: Macy still has a shot of re-entering the competition at a later date, as NBC has promised there will be two “redemption” artists that return to the show. “Show ’em love by streaming their music,” host Snoop Dogg said on Monday night.

During Week 3 of “American Song Contest,” the jury of 56 industry professionals ranked the 12 original songs from first to last, with Tenneesee’s Tyler Braden advancing to the semi-finals thanks to his tune “Seventeen.” The most famous singer on the docket was Alaska’s Jewel, a four-time Grammy nominee and recent “The Masked Singer” winner. During the third week of NBC’s “American Song Contest,” the national jury was tasked with ranking 12 original songs (as opposed to 11) from first to last. At the end of the April 4 episode, hosts Kelly Clarkson and Snoop Dogg announced the results: Tennessee country singer Tyler Braden was ranked the highest by the jury of 56 industry professionals, so he moved on to the semi-finals. Tyler’s original song, “Seventeen,” was a soft, reflective melody about a couple looking back on their lives. Watch the performance above.

Jordan Smith knows a thing or two about winning reality TV shows. He was the champion of “The Voice” Season 9 back in 2015, and now he’s won the jury vote on Week 2 of “American Song Contest.” Representing his home state of Kentucky, Jordan took the stage during the second episode of NBC’s ratings hit and performed his new single “Sparrow.” After all 11 qualifying acts performed their original songs on Monday night, the jury of 56 industry professionals ranked all of them from best to worst. Jordan won the jury vote, so he received a free pass to the semi-finals.
The fate of the other 10 participants now rests in the hands of the at-home voters, whose results will be tabulated alongside the jury rankings — it’s a complicated process — to determine which three will join Jordan in the semi-finals. They are:

Alabama Barker is not letting all the small things bring her down, especially when it comes to her dad Travis Barker. The 16-year-old encouraged her followers to "meet my dad" in a Tiktok on Tuesday, Feb. 8, that featured the Blink-182 drummer drinking a smoothie in their house set to the tune of Kalan.FrFr and Bino Rideaux's "Tell Me." The video also showed Alabama dancing along to the song. However, when one commenter called the song choice "strange," perhaps due to its suggestive lyrics, Alabama did not hesitate to put them back in their place. "Y'all do to fkin much stop trying to make s--t weird," she replied....

After more than 18 years on ABC’s long-running Grey’s Anatomy, star Ellen Pompeo has weighed in on what her on-screen future may look like after Dr. Meredith Grey.
“Probably not movies, I don’t have a movie career,” Pompeo said during Audacy’s Check In.
In a chat with Audacy’s Dax Holt, Pompeo said that the days of pigeon-holing of TV actors to solely television projects are over thanks to the ubiquity of streaming. However, even the shifts of the entertainment landscape won’t necessarily push the actress to the big screen.
“Before, being on a network for so long, you’d literally be doomed. That definitely is not the case anymore so I probably wouldn’t do movies per se, but I probably will do some streaming television,” Pompeo continued.

One of the first conversations cinematographer Douglas Koch had with director Deepa Mehta was about his using a handheld camera in shooting “Funny Boy,” a coming-of-age story set during the civil war in Sri Lanka.
The plan was to allow complete flexibility as Koch worked with two actors — Arush Nand and Brandon Ingram — playing the role of Arjie from boyhood to adolescence as he discovers his sexual identity. As war rages between the Tamil and the Sinhalese, Arjie is further at risk in a nation where homosexuality is punishable by law. Koch made sure the camera was always motivated by the space the actors were in, and that the performers dictated how the camera moved, not the other way around.
The film was originally targeted as Canada’s foreign-language Oscar entry but was disqualified for containing too much English. Netflix resubmitted the film, which bowed in early December, in the best picture and general categories.

From upside down PlayStation 5s to the global dominance of “Genshin Impact” and the biffed launch of “Cyberpunk 2077,” the year in video games has been as topsy-turvy as the year in, well, every other regard. But for all of the industry’s unpredictability, games kept delivering the goods no matter how grim things got out there; “Hades” would’ve been great even if didn’t feel so close to home, and the “Demon’s Souls” remake would’ve sold us on the promise of the next generation even if the bleak world of Boletaria didn’t unexpectedly turn into an oasis, but even the darkest games gave players a cathartic degree of control at a time when a sense of helplessness became a pandemic unto itself.

Edgar Wright has just teased his new film, a psychological horror titled Last Night in Soho. In an interview with Empire magazine, the acclaimed director promised a picture that is “very different” from the stuff he’s made in the past.
Last Night in Soho was originally scheduled for release in September this year. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, however, which has brought film and television productions to a screeching halt around the globe, that premiere date has sadly been pushed back to April 23rd, 2021.
While Wright has yet to give us a trailer, we already know a fair amount about the pic. For one, it will star Anya Taylor-Joy – an actress best known for her roles in M. Night Shyamalan’s Split as well as a recent adaption of the classic novel Emma – alongside Thomasin McKenzie.
What’s more, we also know the setting. Americans, don’t let the title fool you now.

Wednesday night was a weird one on broadcast television. The highest-rated TV show wasn’t even a TV show — it was an ABC airing of 2009 Disney-Pixar movie “Up.”
The film was enough to carry ABC to a first-place finish among adults 18-49. Everything was out of line in terms of total viewers, however.
ABC was first in ratings with a 0.6 rating/3 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and third in total viewers with an average of 2.8 million, according to preliminary numbers. From 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., “Up” averaged a 0.7/4 and 3.4 million viewers. At 10 p.m., “Marvel’s Agents of Shield” managed a 0.3/2 and 1.5 million viewers.
Fox and Univision tied for second in ratings, both with a 0.5/3. Fox was fourth in total viewers with 1.8 million, Univision was fifth with 1.7 million.

This article contains Major spoilers for the Killing Eve Season 3 finale.
The Killing Eve Season 3 finale has aired and it left us with plenty of delicious, lingering to turn over and discuss as we wait for the fourth season, which has already been confirmed.
What Does That Last Scene Mean?
One of the cool things about Killing Eve is that, every scene, it promotes a new female writer to head writer of the show. This not only means that the show acts an incubator of sort to give women the chance to run their own show, but it also creates a system in which the previous head writer challenges the next head writer to fulfill their season finale cliffhanger.
Last season, Season 2 head writer Emerald Fennell ended the season with Villanelle shooting Eve in Rome and leaving her to die and Season 3 head writer Suzanne Heathcote was responsible for playing...
