• Gaia : [at the Planeteer alert]  Trees help clean our air by absorbing greenhouse gasses like carbon dioxide.

  Gi : But the world's old growth forests are being cut down.

  Kwame : This clear cutting threatens animals and plants that depend on trees for their survival.

  Linka : And without trees, top soil washes away, making it harder for the land to recover.

  Ma-Ti : Thousands of old growth trees are cut down every day.

  Captain Planet : What can you do? Plant trees! And ask your parents to help you write a letter to your head of state saying you're against cutting down old growth forests. Remember: the power is yours!
