Exclusive: Details have emerged about the circumstances surrounding DJ Nurre’s rather abrupt exit from Endemol Shine North America. As Deadline reported exclusively Monday, Nurre, one of the company’s top unscripted executives, has left after six years.
According to sources, Nurre was let go for violating company policy following an investigation into alleged misconduct. I hear an outside firm was hired to examine claims of alleged sexual harassment related to an incident during production and its aftermath.
“As per our policy, we do not share specifics about employees leaving the company,” a spokesperson for Endemol Shine North America said in a statement to Deadline, declining further comment.
Nurre’s attorney, Michael Weinsten, issued a statement to Deadline about the firing.
“My client was terminated for allegedly violating company policy,” he said. “To be 100% clear, he vehemently denies having engaged in harassment of anyone in any form at any time in his career.

WWE Chairman/CEO Vince McMahon was a winner and a loser this week.
First, the bad news: He stepped down from his executive position with the WWE as an investigation into misconduct and secret agreements was surfaced by the Wall St. Journal.
Now, the good news: He appeared at the start of Fox’s WWE Friday Night SmackDown, boosting the ratings as the world tuned in to see whether he would address the controversy.
He didn’t. But the hint that he might drove the show’s ratings to a winning score of 0.6, marking a 26 week-over-week in total viewers and 46 rise in the coveted 18-49 demo.
The semi-final of reality show Come Dance with Me on CBS came in with an 0.2, setting up a big finish. That was followed by a CBS News special, Watergate: High Crimes, a 50th anniversary documentary on the controversial burglary that brought down a president.

The National Basketball Assn. topped Friday’s ratings by a healthy margin, the game coming in with a 2.3 and 7.95 million viewers in the early results. Those numbers may go up when finalized.
In the Friday game, the Golden State Warriors beat the Boston Celtics to tie the best-of-seven series at 2-2. It’s now down to the best 2 out of 3 in what’s sure to be a drama-filled slate of games.
Also doing well for ABC on Friday was the pre-game Jimmy Kimmel Live!, which came in with an early 1.1 and 5.54 million viewers, and the throat-clearing NBA Countdown, which had a 1.0 and 4.44 million count.
While that’s certainly cheerful news, the numbers are a bit of a shell game. Overall, the NBA Finals viewership is down from the pre-pandemic era, but up from last year. News outlets that cover sports ratings are equally confused, as some buy the NBA spin that ratings are up,...

The suspicious death of a six-year-old profiled by ABC newsmag 20/20 and the WWE Friday Night SmackDown shared top demo honors as viewers begin to ease into summer.
In the warmup to this weekend’s wrestling PPV and Peacock event Hell in a Cell, the WWE’s Friday Night SmackDown on Fox came in with a 0.4, continuing its dominance on Friday nights.
At ABC, an exclusive interview with convicted murderer Laura Day was on tap for 20/20. She maintains that her six-year-old stepson’s drowning death at a Texas beach was an accident. But it’s now come out that she had other criminal incidents in her past, casting doubt on her story. The story was preceded by a Shark Tank rerun.
CBS had a new Come Dance with Me reality competition tapped to an 0.2, trailed by reruns of crime dramas Magnum P.I. and Blue Bloods.

A quiet pre-holiday Friday night saw plenty of action from the WWE Friday Night SmackDown, which topped the demos once again, this time with an 0.4, easily beating the competition.
The perennial Friday night winner featured a six-person tag-team main event that saw Drew McIntyre emerge as the surprise tag partner to help The New Day overcome The Brawling Brutes.
At NBC, the season finale of The Blacklist saw two series regulars depart, but the needle hardly moved, as the show scored its usual 0.2. That was followed by a Dateline rerun.
ABC chimed in with an ABC News special. Soul of a Nation returned with a special presentation, Together As One: Celebrating Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Heritage, marking the network’s first primetime program celebrating those communities. The special had an 0.2 on the night, with its trailing 20/20 in repeats.

The season finale of ABC’s Shark Tank and a shocking WWE Friday Night SmackDown were the top two demo winners this Friday night.
Sharks Mark Cuban, Lori Greiner, Kevin O’Leary, Barbara Corcoran and Kevin Hart scored an 0.4. They heard pitches on health products, game-worn athletic gear, a specialty boxing glove, and fast food vegan chicken. That didn’t help trailing newsmag 20/20, which weighed in with a 0.3 profile of a Texas man accused of killing his parents, a charge he steadfastly denies.
Fox’s WWE Friday Night SmackDown also claimed an 0.4. It saw The Usos overcome Rk-Bro in the highly anticipated title unification match to become the undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions. But their victory was overshadowed by a stunning announcement on a WWE female tag team’s troubles.
At NBC, The Blacklist held steady at an 0.2, as Raymond Reddington finally learned who was responsible for Liz’s death.

While Jenna Dewan has celebrated eight Mother's Days as a mom, one of them was a step up above the rest. The Come Dance With Me judge recalled celebrating the holiday one year with her and ex Channing Tatum's daughter Everly, 8, and her own mom, Nancy Smith, during a trip to New York. She shared the story with E! News at Baby2Baby's recent Mother's Day distribution event, presented by Paul Mitchell and ByHeart. "I was there working but they came with me and we all stayed in one hotel room," Jenna said. "We were all just together and jumping on the bed and ordering room service and having a really fun girl's day." Not surprisingly, Jenna named her own...

TV fans preferred whooping to hooping early on Friday night. But that old crime story standby, the “Damsel in Distress,” also brought in the eyeballs later in the evening.
Fox’s WWE Friday Night SmackDown topped the NBA Playoffs in the demo wars, coming in with an 0.4 to edge out basketball’s 0.3 for ABC.
The wrestling win was surprising, in that the 2022 NBA playoff viewership continues to run well ahead of the past three years.
Coverage of the NBA Playoffs on ESPN, ABC and TNT through Thursday is up 23 from last year and up 29 from 2019, the previous postseason to begin in the month of April (2.80M). Viewership is also up 102 from the months-delayed postseason two years ago.
CBS saw the premiere of reality show Come Dance With Me, which teams young dancers with less athletic family members, score an 0.3 to kick off its night. The show is hosted by Grammy Award-winning songwriter Philip Lawrence.

In the latest TV ratings, Fox’s Friday Night SmackDown this week slipped to its first sub-2 million audience (1.8 mil) since Christmas Eve (when it drew 1.97 mil), while dipping to its lowest demo rating (0.4) since at least September. At least.
That said, on this quiet-ish Friday it still managed to tie Dateline for the nightly demo win, while the NBC newsmagazine (3.8 mil/0.4) easily copped Friday’s largest audience.

The kids are ready to do-si-do. Their parents…well, they’re more of a do-si-don’t. This fun new competition — executive produced by NCIS: Los Angeles stars Chris O’Donnell and LL Cool J, who share plenty of daddy-daughter dance experience between them — takes 9- to 15-year-olds with all the right moves and pairs them with less agile family members for a chance to win 100,000. That’s if the grown-ups don’t break an ankle first: Participants attempting styles from ballroom to hip-hop include an interior designer, a social media consultant and the drummer for Limp Bizkit! Notes O’Donnell: “There’s something about seeing people put themselves out there on national TV for the love of their kids and go for it.” Step Up’s Jenna Dewan is one of the trio of judges, and Grammy-winning songwriter Philip Lawrence hosts. For every Dancing With the Stars or So You Think You Can Dance — two TV shows that have been on since the 2000s — there’s a dance competition that couldn’t quickstep its way past one season. But now CBS is hoping its latest addition to the dance-competition genre will fall into the former category. The network’s new show Come Dance With Me — executive-produced by NCIS: Los Angeles costars LL Cool J and Chris O’Donnell — features talented kids joining untrained family members to compete for a 100,000 prize. Come Dance With Me sounds promising enough, but then again, so did the shows below, which were canceled after Season 1 — or, in one case, after just a few episodes. Born to Dance: Laurieann Gibson Emmy-nominated choreographer Laurieann Gibson presided over this BET dance competition, which aired one season in the summer of 2011. Twenty young dancers vied for the 50,000 prize, with Gibson offering...

Magnum needs a kick in the butt to move on with his life.
Thomas received that message from both new and old friends on Magnum P.I. Season 4 Episode 18.
One of Magnum's newest friends didn't last long. Vietnam vet Bob Braddock, introduced on Magnum P.I. Season 4 Episode 17, died from cancer that put him into hospice care, where Thomas met him.
Although not unexpected given Bob's condition, starting with his military funeral did make for a somber opening. However, it was uplifting to see Magnum, T.C., Rick, and Shammy attend in their dress uniforms.
Bob's brother Danny was the first to advise Thomas, mentioning that he should live for the day and not have any regrets in the end. Cut to Magnum, glancing longingly at Juliet.
