This skillfully made documentary tells the story of California-based company Makani Power, from small aerospace startup, to Google moonshot project building an impressive machine, an energy kite with 26 meter wing span and 8 onboard wind turbines with a total rated power of 600 kW, and the demonstration of this kite offshore Norway. The movie paces through the many pioneering technical developments, the various challenges that were faced and the joy of breakthrough moments. While the movie is a must for anyone involved in (airborne) wind energy, it is also a fascinating tale of using creativity and innovation to combat climate change.
