The actor portraying Jazzed Up Hoodlums' villain knew a couple things about guerrilla style production; Carlos Gallardo was the star and producer of Robert Rodriguez' breakout $7,000 feature "El Mariachi." On set, Gallardo told director Stephen Marsh: "Everyone always says to me they're going to shoot Mariachi-style but they don't. You guys are the first I've seen actually do it."
To keep the wooden coffin afloat for the opening scene, Marsh and Banks used wooden pallets they stole from Wal-Mart the night before.
Writing original music for the movie was halted multiple times because musician Phillip English had to pawn his computer and instruments to pay rent. He also worked as a pizza delivery driver during the production.
Wardrobe primarily came from local thrift stores.
In high school, Phillip English, who wrote the soundtrack, really did begin to run for mayor. Marsh often accompanied him on trips to City Hall to get the paperwork.
