Exclusive: Actress Kat Graham (The Vampire Diaries) has signed with Untitled Entertainment for management, with partner Evan Hainey to run point on her behalf.
“Funny enough Evan helped start my career well over a decade ago and we have remained good friends ever since,” Graham told Deadline. “I have consistently turned to him for guidance over the years as I navigated my journey in this industry, and he has never steered me wrong. This is a natural alignment. I am very grateful to join forces with a great man and solid friend like him.”
Graham broke out with her series regular role as witch Bonnie Bennett across all eight seasons of The CW’s supernatural teen drama The Vampire Diaries, which aired between 2009 and 2017. Developed by Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec, the show based on L.J. Smith’s books had her starring alongside Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder, and more.

The film currently in post-production will have been completed within two months from the date of Roe’s overturning — which eliminated the longstanding constitutional right to abortion — in an effort to ensure this is a response and not a delayed reaction. It’s a little ironic that the fair-minded maiden in “Love in the Villa” yearns for an authentic, romantic Italian vacation since her fairy tale has been cobbled together by Netflix’s practically patented algorithm. Take one part down-on-her-luck female protagonist, add in a handsome-but-cantankerous gentleman either from or in an enchanting European setting, and mix with a generous splash of high jinks that force them to fall head over heels. Yet the blessed surprise awaiting even the most cynical of audiences of writer-director Mark Steven Johnson’s romantic comedy is that within the manufactured product lies a heartening appeal to its sensible delight.
Elementary school teacher Julie (Kat Graham), who is obsessed with “Romeo and Juliet,” has planned the trip of a lifetime with her boyfriend of four years, Brandon (Raymond Ablack). Their jaunt to Verona, Italy, includes everything from reservations at the finest restaurants to themed tours, all...

Exclusive: Kevin Iannucci (The Best Of Enemies) and Bethany Brown (Charmed) are set as series regulars opposite Ben Rappaport and Alexandra Chando in NBC’s untitled drama pilot based on the award-winning Dutch series Adam & Eva. The pilot is written by The Village creator Mike Daniels and will be directed by Stephanie Laing.
The project, described as a funny and heartfelt drama, chronicles the epic love and lives of two complete strangers, Adam (Rappaport) and Eva (Chando), whose multiple run-ins begin to defy coincidence, leading both to believe in fate. The show breaks the mold by pairing a serialized, stand-up-and-cheer romantic comedy with the wildly diverse and often unexpected human stories of anyone who finds themselves six degrees from Adam and Eva.
Iannucci will play Derek, Adam’s new co-worker, a damn-the-torpedoes truth-teller on a quest to find love.
Brown will portray Neela, Eva’s former art school buddy, current roommate and ride-or-die best friend.

Netflix has released the first look of Lindsay Lohan’s forthcoming Christmas rom-com, which is still untitled. Lohan has largely foregone acting in recent years, so this movie — which will stream during the holiday season next year — marks her return to the screen. In “Untitled Holiday Rom-Com,” Lohan stars opposite Chord Overstreet.
Variety exclusively broke the news of Lohan’s Netflix movie in May.
In the movie, Lohan plays a “newly engaged, spoiled hotel heiress” (according to the logline), who gets amnesia after a skiing accident and “finds herself in the care of a handsome, blue-collar lodge owner” — that would be Overstreet — “and his precocious daughter in the days leading up to Christmas.”
George Young, Jack Wagner and Olivia Perez are also in the cast.

The Umbrella Academy star Tom Hopper and Kat Graham are set to star in Netflix’s Love in the Villa. Mark Steven Johnson will write and direct, with Margret Huddleston and Stephanie Slack producing through their Off Camera Entertainment banner. Johnson will also produce.
The film follows a young woman who takes a trip to romantic Verona, Italy, after a breakup, only to find that the villa she reserved was double-booked, and she’ll have to share her vacation with a cynical (and very good-looking) British man. Production will start this month in Verona and the film will premiere globally on the streamer in 2022.
“Now, more than ever, people need some love and laughter in their lives. Everyone seems so divided these days. But in the end everyone wants the same thing — to love and to be loved,” Johnson said. “That’s what movies like Love in the Villa are about.

I’m still processing it because it’s been probably my greatest dream.

Kat Graham isn't just an incredible actress; she's also making a positive change with the roles she takes on. The 31-year-old first began acting at a young age - with guest spots on Lizzie McGuire, Greek, and Hannah Montana - but gained a huge following for her starring role as the fierce and powerful witch Bonnie Bennett on The Vampire Diaries. While the role helped jump-start her career in a lot of ways, it also taught her an important lesson about representation.
"The role of Bonnie was so, so special because it really shaped my career in a lot of ways," she told Popsugar. "I owe so much of my fan base internationally to the awareness of that show. It was also a show where I was the only African-American regular, and it brought to my attention certain things that I wanted to make sure I was thoughtful of when...

Every so often a trailer comes along that will you have you wondering, what the hell is this? And this week, that trailer is for Netflix's Holiday Home Makeover with Mr. Christmas. Yes, the streaming service is gearing up to release seasonal movies and holiday-themed shows like Dash & Lily, Operation Christmas Drop and Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey, all of which will bring a little more joy to your day. But something tells us their latest non-scripted series is going to get all the buzz. As the name implies, Holiday Home Makeover follows Benjamin Bradley (a.k.a. Mr. Christmas), a seasoned interior designer who indeed is enamored by all things Christmas. In the series,...

Every year, movie-preview pieces herald the holidays’ arrival; in 2020, the headlines are a little different. As USA Today proclaimed, “10 Must-See Movies to Stream Over the Holiday Season.” They include “Soul,” “Mank,” “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom,” “Let Them All Talk,” and “Small Axe” — major awards contenders, many of which would have have been theatrical releases. However, they all belong to streamers, not VOD.
Meanwhile, on Friday Vertical Entertainment dropped an action film, “The Informer,” which stars Joel Kinnaman as an ex-con who returns to prison undercover to expose a Polish drug cartel. Shot in 2017 and released in most of the world in 2019, this title from the director of “Escobar: Paradise Lost” is unlikely to show up on anyone’s awards-season list. However, even at $19.99 to rent, it topped two major VOD charts this weekend.

Hallmark and Lifetime may be the longtime players in the TV holiday movie game, but relative newbie Netflix has a festive boast to make about its own Christmas content: “Around half” of Netflix subscribers “watched at least one” of the streaming service’s original holiday films during the 2019 holiday season and Netflix’s holiday titles are streamed in all 190 countries where the platform is available, a spokesperson for the streaming service tells TheWrap.
For context, Netflix said it had reached 167 million subscribers globally at the end of 2019, so this stat would apply to almost 50% of those accounts. Reminder: Netflix counts a “view” as when someone watches a selected title for at least two minutes.
Netflix doesn’t have nearly as many original holiday movies under its belt as Hallmark or Lifetime but its library is growing each year, and it’s already known for a few “franchises,” like its beloved “A Christmas Prince” trilogy.

Update: FlixPatrol have seemingly removed the film from their Top 10 chart for Netflix, though as of yet, they’ve provided no reason way. As recently as this morning, however, it was listed on there.
Halloween might have been over a week ago, but Netflix subscribers are still willing to check out horror titles long after spooky season has drawn to a close. Operation Christmas Drop is Netflix's latest heartwarming holiday movie that you may not anticipate is actually inspired by a true story. The basics: Alexander Ludwig plays Andrew, an Air Force captain, opposite Kat Graham as Erica, a congresswoman's aide. Andrew, other Air Force members, and volunteers are preparing for Operation Christmas Drop (Ocd), in which they drop gifts and supplies to islanders. Erica comes to the base with a mission from the congresswoman: to make a case for base closure. However, as she meets the Ocd helpers and the families they serve, the Christmas spirit fills her heart.
While the romance is fictional, the mission is based on a real, yearly Air Force tradition! Ocd is the Department of Defense's longest-running humanitarian airlift operation. It started in the 1952 Christmas season when a B-29 aircrew saw Kapingamarangi islanders waving at them. Feeling the love and the Christmas spirit, the...

The Netflix Original Christmas movie is now a genre unto itself, its ranks expanding every year by the flimsy, tinselly dozen. What its identifying aesthetic features are — and how you might distinguish it, say, from a Hallmark or Lifetime variation — is a tough question: You’d have to remember any single one of them a season later to say for sure. Some have Christmas princes, some have Kurt Russell, but almost all of Netflix’s yuletide offerings blend seamlessly into a cheer-by-numbers mass, as sweetly bland and textureless as non-alcoholic eggnog. There’s nothing especially wrong with that, or with “Operation Christmas Drop,” an anodyne, friction-free romantic comedy that faintly distinguishes itself from its snow-sprayed genre brethren with enticingly balmy South Pacific scenery. If nothing else, it gives viewers something to daydream about while they keep half an eye on its story.

November is among the least respected months on the calendar. Falling between objectively the two best holidays, November is usually all about recovering from the spookies of Halloween while getting ready for the good vibes the holiday season. For its new releases of November 2020, Netflix has decided to just go ahead and get Christmas over with.
Netflix has already released a list of all its holiday offerings for November and December, and it’s those holiday offerings that take the most prominence this month. The biggest project of all of these is undoubtedly The Christmas Chronicles 2, which premieres on Nov. 25. In this holiday sequel, Kurt Russell reprises his role as Hot Santa Claus who must save the season once again.

November is the last month of the year for sensible viewing, before our TV screens become full-time broadcasters of golden retrievers saving Christmas and Will Ferrell wearing tights. Take the opportunity then, to get some good stuff in before the festivities.
In terms of good stuff, Netflix is offering the second series of the brilliantly wry and surprisingly touching The End of the F***ing World for any UK viewers who didn’t catch it on Channel 4. There’s also the excellent animated feature Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (we loved it. 5 stars.) as well as Boots Riley’s inventive, funny, political satire Sorry to Bother You (we also loved it. 4.5 stars.) On top of that, you can take a nostalgic trip to Capeside with all six seasons of Dawson’s Creek or watch emotionally repressed royals deal with the advent of the 1980s in season four of The Crown.

Netflix wants you to have a very Dolly holiday — Dolly Parton that is.
The streamer dropped a trailer for its upcoming original holiday movie musical, “Dolly Parton’s Christmas on the Square,” on Wednesday, featuring the legendary singer-songwriter’s vocals to get everyone in the mood for a small-town winter adventure.
“Christmas is a time for sharing, knowing you’ve been blessed,” Parton sings before being revealed on-screen in a glittery, glowing white ensemble.
“Who are you?” Christine Baranski’s character asks her. “What do you want from me?”
Parton replies that she’s “Angel” and she wants “change.” This is because Baranski’s character, the rich Regina Fuller, returns to her hometown after her father’s death to evict the townspeople and sell the land to a mall developer.

Though we’re now beginning to see life starting to return to at least some sense of normality, a lot of people are still spending much more time at home than usual thanks to the Coronavirus pandemic, and that probably won’t change for a while yet. As such, streaming services are more popular than ever now and thankfully, all of the major players have been delivering the goods when it comes to adding new content.
Of course, Netflix are still the leaders and each and every month they bring us a healthy helping of fresh material that ensures subscribers are kept entertained at all times. Admittedly, the summer was more fruitful in terms of new releases, but there are still a lot of great titles coming down the pipeline as we head into the fall and today, the streaming giant have revealed their November lineup, which you can check out below.
