Chilling

This is a very powerful short film. I can't understand anyone who wouldn't be shaken when watching it.

The visual are incredibly haunting. There are names scattered thought the movie of people who have been harmed by the subject matter, this really adds a gravity to the movie and just makes it incredibly sad and painful.

Styles and substance.

The 7 minutes of this short pack a surprising amount of power thanks to it being based on a fast spoken word piece. In delivery and themes, it reminds me a bit of moments in "Blindspotting". While some of the monologues in the full-length movie have a bit of an awkward rhythm, the short has no such problems as the spoken piece takes up the entire runtime.

Combining the powerful message and delivery with a collage of animations and brief live-action shots, the short is effective and a visual treat. Like all anthology pieces, some segments are definitely weaker, but the variety of imagery, including 3D modeling and several types of 2D animation make for a great end result.

The message continues even during the credits as it turns out that the work is truly collaborative, having contributions from several teams and solo artists throughout the world.

Necessary

A mostly animated short film. It deals with a social claim on the racial struggle. Quality. Piercing. Necessary. Safety pin. In the form of verse and light rap lyrics. The animation is of quality. A hard reflection on who we were and what this system has made us in the fight for an equal society in rights.

Good message, poor animation

Much as I appreciate the message of this spoken word piece, I don't think the animation helped get it across. In fact I found the mixture of live action plus drawing, with every little section is a completely different style, to be disorienting. All the different things going on onscreen actually DETRACTED from the words. I hope it will be seen and appreciated, but wish the artists had a more thoughtful approach.

Thoughtful and raw

An educated, intelligent and emotional piece of art. Inevitably there will be those who will down vote this because of its nature, and sadly their own nature. This should be watched with an open heart and mind by all.

Decide for yourself

To me, a POWERFUL short animation with live and drawings about today's world that we are living and dying in. Yes, I remember what it was like and I too, wish life today is like that when I was a kid.

Nice try

Nice try, but the sudden and often change of style made me tune out. Killer Mike constantly has superior value both in lyrics and videos. Seek Run the Jewels.
