In this film (which is supposed to coincide with events in WALL·E (2008)), BURN-E appears outside the garbage bay airlock just as the door closes. In "WALL-E", BURN-E does not appear. Also, a ledge has been added around the ship (and under the airlock door) for BURN-E to roll along; however, this ledge does not appear in "WALL-E".
At the beginning, a tiny meteor is shown to be the initial cause of the mayhem, flaming as it comes in. This would not happen in outer space, as the flaming is caused by the friction between material and an atmosphere, it would look like just a rock. At supersonic speed.
(at around 3 mins) When BURN-E is waiting for the doors to open, the light can be seen dimming to show time is passing. But, the Axiom is not in orbit. Inside, the virtual time of day is controlled by the captain.
Given the events in WALL·E (2008) it is safe to assume that the garbage disposal chute has been opening numerous times for garbage to shoot out. Why BURN-E only decided to try that alternative during EVE and WALL-E's adventure through it goes unexplained.
