- Leroy B. Simpson pays a visit and winds up winning $20,000 at a rodeo. Doris hides his money in a broken toaster, so he'll stop spending it foolishly, but the boys, who don't know about the money, give the broken toaster away to a library fund-raising drive.—frankfob2@yahoo.com
- LeRoy B. Simpson, Doris' ex-farmhand, stops by Doris' office unexpectedly, he who Doris has not seen in over a year. His news is that he has joined the rodeo circuit - the reason he is in town - his hope being that he can win enough money on the circuit finally to settle down with his wife Ellie and the triplets on their own ranch. Much to Doris, Billy, Toby and Myrna's excitement, LeRoy not only gives them free tickets to tonight's final, but he ends up winning the $20,000 first prize, paid in cash, enough for his goal of buying the ranch he wants in Montana, where he now lives, the ranch that costs $15,000. The problem is is that LeRoy is generous to a fault, based largely out of his naivety and trusting nature, and may end up with less than the amount needed to buy the ranch if he keeps on spending the way he starts. Doris tries to act as his conscience, which may or may not be enough to help LeRoy get back to Montana with the money. Doris may face her own problems in helping LeRoy, all because of her broken down toaster.—Huggo
