- In the series opener, 14 aspiring young entrepreneurs arrive in New York City to begin an intense competition as millionaire hip-hop mogul 50 Cent searches for an ambitious, hustling self-starter with street smarts to invest $100,000 of his own money in.—Anonymous
- Hip hop legend and business mogul Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson knows exactly what he wants and how to get it. 50 Cent is ready to share the wealth and will give 14 guys and girls the chance to have it all- the money and the power.
50 Cent The Money and The Power will put the contestants into two groups who will battle for the money using their street smarts and business skills. The person who masters 50 Cent's lessons and applies the learned street skills to their business will win The Money and The Power.
50 Cent has been burned by his G Unit in the past and is not about to have it happen again. 50 Cent's right hand man Tony Yayo has proved his loyalty and in return gets a piece of the pie- this could happen to one of lucky contestants.
Larry is the first member of 50 Cent's crew, adding to the group some real world experience that could be useful. Ryan is an internet dreamer who wants to learn how to take it to the level. Retail girl Joanna has Los Angeles style and is willing to play the game dirty. Then there's Nikki, a passionate worker who wants to be an entertainment mogul just like 50 Cent. Nikki's competition is Cornbreadd who is a real estate agent with music dreams.
Independent promoter DaJuan is hungry for success and money, while Precious' edge could hold her back from being a leader. Brooklyn's Musso is used to being in charge behind the bar but his tendency to not back down could hurt his chances.
On New York's Roosevelt Island, the group meets up their new boss 50 Cent and find out that $100,000 is up for grabs to whoever can prove themselves to the music mogul. But it won't be all fun and games for our 14 entrepreneurs because whoever doesn't take the competition seriously will be told "that's a wrap."
50 Cent and Tony Yayo decide to pick the first bosses to lead the group. Joanna and Ryan are chosen to step up and proudly wear their new executive du-rags to show who's in charge. The team leaders have to choose who will stand besides them throughout the competition.
Ryan chooses civil servant Derrick who hails from Florida and then yoga instructor Rebecca. Next on Ryan's list is Mehghan who has had to raise herself and no longer wants to struggle. Musso, DaJuan and ladies' man Nathan join Ryan. Joanna chooses Cornbreadd, Nikki, and San Diego native Jenn. Larry and advertising professional Nima join Joanna along with last-pick Precious.
Once the teams are picked, 50 Cent throws them for a loop by announcing that they have to chain themselves together and race to their Brooklyn home which is five miles away. Yayo honks the horn and Team Money and Team Power start to race to their new home, "Camp Curtis."
At the start of the race, Rebecca of Team Power trips and falls to the ground. The team slows down again when DaJuan trips a woman on the street with the chain and tells his team not to stop to help the woman.
Both teams have trouble finding their way, but it's when Team Money gets lost that Ryan and Team Power get to Camp Curtis first. It starts to rain and Team Money is still on the streets looking for Camp Curtis. Finally, both teams are at the new house and Team Power is quick to show off their victory dance.
50 Cent greets the group and gives Ryan immunity from the first elimination and tells Joanna that she'll be up for elimination. The teams are then introduced to their war rooms -- one for Money and one for Power. Team Power earned the right to have dinner with 50 Cent on the patio and the losers are sent off with Yayo.
The losers are shown their new living quarters which aren't very luxurious. On top of that, the losers have to make the beds for the winners while the winners dine with 50 Cent.
Ryan talks to the rest of the group to see who he will be pick to be up for elimination. Musso believes that DaJuan should be on the chopping block for his temper during the Camp Curtis race. Precious confronts DaJuan about being unemployed and Nikki quickly jumps into the fight. Nikki is also unemployed but is a student who says that Precious should be more concerned about broadening her horizons. Precious yells for Nikki to "do her nails," and then the whole group jumps into the fight.
At elimination, 50 Cent is excited to "lighten the load." As a boss who failed, Joanna is the first on the chopping block. Ryan announces that he chooses Larry from the losing team to be up for elimination since he is Ryan's biggest threat. After outbursts from both DaJuan and Precious, Ryan picks Precious to be up for elimination.
Joanna says that she is a great leader and should stay, unlike team member Precious. Larry insists that he didn't outshine his boss and deserves to be at Camp Curtis. When Precious has a chance to speak her case, 50 Cent calls her out for being unprofessional. Yayo tells 50 Cent that all three contestants should leave.
50 Cent decides that Joanna will be dropped from the game and can't be trust with his money. Joanna leaves and the rest of the group is told to watch their backs or they'll be kicked to the curb as well.
With their first elimination under their belts, will the contestants step up to the plate or will they lose the chance to get The Money and The Power?
