I can't believe I'm the only person who's reviewing this! Then again, I guess I shouldn't be surprised, because there's not much awareness surrounding pollution. You hear about it every so often on the news, but it doesn't receive much attention compared to other issues. I was trying to reduce my usage of plastic before seeing this documentary. I currently have a reusable water bottle. In fact it's my second one. The grocery store my family and I go to stopped using plastic bags, so we bought several reusable bags. I knew plastic in the ocean was a problem, but I didn't know it was that bad! This was definitely an eye opener. I had no idea the Mediterranean sea was filled with microplastic (I didn't even know plastic has the ability to break down into small pieces!). Alexandra Cousteau, granddaughter of Jacques-Yves Cousteau, interviews and follows the people who are working to save the Mediterranean sea from the immense plastic pollution. Although it wasn't my area of study in college, I always loved environmental science. Minimizing or possibly eliminating plastic from the ocean is something all of us can play a role in accomplishing. I hope in the future more people will become educated about this and we can save the planet from becoming a trash heap.
