Homer's dreams of rapping robots are ruined because of J.J Abrams rebooting them. Tons of funny scenes like The robots saying "I beat kids".

This is The Simpsons in 2021

This is so bad that you can't describe it with words. The plot is so weird that is leaves you speechless. It's just too strange that Homer was a kid at the same as Bart was a kid.

Abysmal

Warning: Spoilers
I can't believe the positive reviews. This episode isn't a 'classic'. It's a retcon as others have said. Homer growing up in the 90s, when Bart was a kid in the beginning of the series, is absurd. The music was awful. The idea of the robots was terrible. This one and Wad Goals were both awful episodes. I've stuck with the show this long. This season is the first one that's giving me doubts.

Hip-Hop Homer in the '90s?!

Warning: Spoilers
This is coming from someone who has no problem defending The Simpsons 30+ years on. Stop attempting to retcon The Simpsons! Homer was never in a Nirvana rip-off band, and he didn't work at this place in the '90s (he was mocking Ice Ice Baby, so it had to be 1990 at the earliest).

How was JJ Abrams able to steal the robots with no repercussions? Buying the rights to an IP doesn't magically grant you ownership of all memorabilia of said IP.

Lastly, a troll and someone "critiquing" the direction an IP is going are not inherently synonymous. While they sometimes can be the same thing, just because someone doesn't like what you're doing, it doesn't mean that they're a troll.

Here we go again with the rewriting

Warning: Spoilers
I enjoyed growing up seeing the episode Mother Simpson. Which is still one of my favorite Simpsons episodes. But as the writers keep changing, so do the episodes and especially characters. In Classic Simpsons, Homer was a child in the 60's whose mom had to leave Homer. In modern Simpsons, they say that Homer's parents divorced. But now they made it worse. Saying that Homer is a teenager in the 90's. THAT GREW UP WITH HIP HOP. Everything about this episode was a disappointment.

Not only it's bad, it already kill the character that already bad
ansonclockerlau20 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Homer used to be the 70s laissez-faire man, but now just an empty signifier, from Kurt Cobain to sappy Homer. The Simpsons we know has become the sitcoms like 70s sappy Simpson, the zombified America that the creator used to be opposed, turns out to be the establishment. Because when some business executives know what's profitable, it becomes flat like Star Wars and other much bland franchises to name with.

Oh, the celebrity, weak plot, strange characterisation and overall it's hard to watch. Singing 'Slice slice baby' doesn't help, we already know this is bad. The plot is about love with Chuck n Cheese animatronic and the movies!!! That's it. Do the writers get passion? Do they need to put a lot of stuff to deal with?

I expected a good episode, but sadly it failed.

This episode really jumped the shark. Stop trying to retcon the Simpsons! They're fine the way they are.

How "Do Pizza Bots Dream of Electric Guitars" fails to deliver on its promising premise
santifersan29 March 2023
The "Do Pizza Bots Dream of Electric Guitars" episode of The Simpsons had some good moments, but unfortunately, the annoying phrases of the characters working for J. J. Abrams were a major downside. The over-the-top fawning over the guest star felt insincere and left a bad taste in my mouth. The episode started out decently with the robots in the pizza joint being funny, but this joke had already been used in an earlier episode of the series. Additionally, that original scene felt very '90s due to its setting in the era of the robots' debut.

Overall, the reliance on tired jokes, the attempt to retcon the series and the uncomfortable pandering to a guest star detracted from the overall enjoyment of the episode.
