- Evan Thompson showed his dedication to our country by waving his flag at passing fighter jets for forty-five years. His passing on October 2nd, 2020 leave pilots wondering why the flags no longer fly.
- Layered between the main arc of Evan's story, we will show reenactments of our combat heroes such as Lieutenant Colonel Chris "Evil" Beckman and his emergency close air support mission in Afghanistan on July 20th, 2012. This was where he managed to save the lives of all 13 American ground troops while not causing a single civilian casualty through a non-lethal demonstration of "Escalation of Force." By slowly escalating to lethal force, it allowed our troops to escape while saving the lives of all the civilians that were being used as human shields by the terrorists. We will also layer in reenactments of the stories of Major Heather "Lucky" Penney, one of the F-16 pilots that was tasked to take down United flight 93 on September 11th, 2001. A first lieutenant at the time, she took off on the wing of Lt. Col. Marc "Sass" Sasseville to intercept and take down the 200,000lb commercial airline with no weapons on board. That meant only one thing, but they never found United 93. It wasn't till hours later that they realized the flight had been taken down by a group of extraordinary heroes. Lt. Col. Marc "Mongo" Frith was the first pilot to meet with Evan Thompson in person and started the lifelong relationship between Evan and the Air Force. Handing the reigns down to generations of fighter pilots who maintained the mutual reverence.
