extremely goos effects for a zero budget

Stefan Svahn was for me an unknown name but by attending weekend of horrors at Germany I came beware that there is more then Ittenback, Rose, Buttgereit or others. And some can make a really good movie like Svahn did. Naturally there are a few problems with the film but I mus admit that by seeing the trailer it was really good and didn't bored me at all. The first cheer I wont to give is that it had English subs, something that isn't common under German flicks. Secondly, being a low budget I again cheer for the gore added in this flick. I would even dare to say that it is one for the gorehounds but the main failure is the way that they didn't do any extra lighting and no colour grading. Sometimes it's way too blue in the black level part of not making a black balance before shooting. It clocks in at 98 minutes which is rather long for an independent. But as I said, it didn't bother me at all. From shot one until the end it's all about decapitations, biting, slashing, guts being teared out. And the zombies looked really well for a low budget, they sometimes did look like a cross between cenobites and zombies. The movie really made it through it's effects. The acting is mediocre and the story is rather good too. If this was made with money it could really have become a classic. If you like the old Italian zombies then go search it because it's out on the non-existing MUP label, so it will become OOP really soon I guess. My only comment, are they Goths, I don't think so, they rather look more like metalheads, death metal to be precise, even the score has Helion, not Goth what I think Goth should be. And by wearing a Cannibal Corpse T-shirt that says it all. My the Goths rule the wasteland, hahahahaha.
