Sound engineer Dyami Quast quickly became renowned with the cast and crew for sleeping while hanging off the mountain side in his full-body harness.
Actor Jon Stentz accepted the role of "Will", which involved a number of mountain-climbing scenes, despite a serious fear of heights.
The film's mountain-climbing sequences were entirely film on location in New Mexico over a two-and-a-half week shoot.
Post-production on the film took a 1 1/2 years due to complicated sound and visual sequences. Thus despite being shot in the summer of 2000, the film did not premiere until the winter of 2002.
