This movie should have been a short, only about 30 minutes long.
It's very repetitive and a good 50% of the scenes are too dark to make out wth is going on. Only reason it got a 3 star instead of a 1 is I thought the story was ok ish.

Well, that's that...

Supposedly the final chapter of a trilogy, 3AM may or may not be actually that. The first Fear Footage is a film I love. It is damn near the top of the found footage heap. Part 2 is average at best. This one is marginally better than 2. It has scares, that isn't the issue. The issue is it leaves the door open for more and more is NOT needed.
Could have been good
geeza200625 March 2021
This could have been a good horror movie if the guy holding the camera wasnt so annoying, lookig at the situation hes in you would have been scared out of your mind but he just doesnt act that way which makes us as the audience to not be able to connect with what the movie is trying to.do and that is to scare us. Ive been a big fan of found footage movies for a while now going back as far as the blair witch project which really creeped me out because the actors seem genuinely creeped out aswell, but the problem here is that you can tell hes acting which isnt good when it comes to found footage everything should feel genuine to real life. Ok so i think it could have been better but the attempts at scares are too repetitive, at times the night scenes are to dark and like i said the guy holding the camera just gets annoying. So i give it a 3 because i think with the right direction this could have been alot better.
Nothing happened
cecilunt20 March 2021
It's common in these types of movies for nothing to happen, for you to watch a group of people pottering around a supposedly haunted place and for the entire movie nothing happens until the final moments (And then you still don't see anything). but this takes it to the next level altogether. Nothing happens and then nothing happens. The film has literally no purpose.
Biggest waste of 2.99 ever

Warning: Spoilers
I didn't realize until coming on here that this was the third movie or I'd not have not bothered. I can't imagine how bad they are as this is a mess that only a found footage movie could be. Shaky camera, seeing absolutely nothing, bad acting, 99% filler and the film making competence of Fast & Furious movie. Not worth the runtime or a penny of your hard earned cash.

Pay attention

Brother rented this and told me I absolutely had to watch it, stunned by how amateurish it was me and him began a lengthy debate about found footage and its contribution to the industry and indie filmmakers. We wound up discovering it was a trilogy, the reviews on this newly released ones are all 1's and 10's. The 1's describe the movie as bad while the 10's call people losers. That should tell you everything you need to know, avoid this the current plague.

No Fear!

Warning: Spoilers
It is hard to top Blair Witch Project, but some handheld horror movies gets a row of sequels and cult follows these days like Fear Footage. This time a man ends up in the home of Youtuber Dan Bell and the Blair Witch with haunted portals in remote forests and many retro callbacks. Not the movie of the year so far, but a one hour break from the many over 2 hour long epic movies with an overload of VXF the last 2 years.
I hate myself for finishing it
grimmctv20 March 2021
This is the type of movie that when you finish you find yourself needing to re-evaluate your life because you literally wasted over an hour of it. It's THAT bad, please for the love of everything pure in this world don't waste your time on it.

Terrible. Horrible. Should be a crime to call this entertainment.
Nothing happens, other than the idiot walking around shouting "Hello".
A lot of shots of trees and grass.
Alot of bad movies are so bad they are funny. This was NOT one of them.

Shilled and terrible

I like found footage films, if I haven't seen 500+ of them already I'll be very surprised. Sure there are some bad ones (A lot) but I think they have a certain charm about them and are rarely pretentious. This is pretentious, it thinks it's on a bigger scale than it actually is. It's plot is dreadful, the approach just doesn't work, it's too dark and feels less like a movie and more like some terrible Youtube skit but extended.
And then we have the reviews, it's hard to disagree with the hate but on the flipside you have 10/10 reviews complaining about reviews from new accounts/accounts with no activity while being the same themselves! One even has the movies name as its username!
Honestly this is awful, go watch better found footage movies as there are no shortage. This is like watching a Ghost Hunters "Reality" tv show except recorded on a toaster and too dark to see what is going on.

Wth was this ? Who in the world thought to have this guy behind camera though? The worst acting I've ever witnessed . The only thing he does is yell "hello" in the most irritating voice I wanted to throw my laptop across the room. This was an Embarrassment..
Surprisingly Good.

I'm a huge fan of indie found footage horror...
Blackwell Ghost
Bad Bed
The first two fear footage movies..
All awesome.
But this one ...repeating the same lines over and over again (which was limited to hello and how do you know all this and where are you) was enough to have me just play It in the background with the odd look up at times when the volume got too loud
Why was he so scared? Things left him alone each time he turned around or closed a door.
Get the monsters or ghosts to simply open the door next time. They made it this far, right?
Sorry but it's a zzzzzzzz rating from me....

Witness the End!

Again those who gave bad reviews clearly aren't fans of found footage. Although not my favorite of the Trilogy it's still a solid film. Run time could of been longer and a few more jump scares but it was still a good film. The ending was a good twist.
Witness the end...

It's no perfect movie but I really dig this franchise. And for it to be done on a shoestring budget, with a skeleton crew I found a lot to embrace here... Some of the acting is missing, and the dialogue gets a bit repetitive offscreen. Also the sound mix needed some work. But when a movie entertains me, I generally pick up on less of those things. Overall, I thought the conclusion has a satisfying tie in to the first film... Plus those jump scares never miss a beat for me!
I hope its the last

The fear footage trilogy isn't the best, but I felt like the first two showed promise, like the film makers were finding their footing and voice.
After watching the (hopefully) final entry in the series, I can say that any quality moments from the first two were probably flukes. I want to go into how bad the writing is, the voices, the makeup, effects... But I refuse to put more thought into this review than the film makers did making this movie.
This movie really ends the trilogy on a brown note.
The best part of this movie is that it ends, the worst part is that it takes one hour and eleven minutes to do so.

Subniche-specific gem in a good series

If you expect a high-profile, superbly produced film, then this is definitely not for you. However, "Blair Witch (2016)" cost millions and it still got dragged by critics, so I am not entirely sure what it is that some people demand from found-footage anyway.
Is there a character in this movie filming his journey even after he definitely would have dropped his cam and stopped recording? Yes. Are there Blair Witchy cliches and an abundance of "hellos" and jump scares? Yes. Is there an overused type of plot and style all throughout? Yes. Is it still fun as hell and does it deliver what fans of the subgenre actually want? BIG YES!
So, as far as I am concerned, they can carry on and make numbers 4, 5, 6 and so on, as long as they maintain this level of production.
