- In the U.S. DVD/Blu-ray releases from FUNimation, the brief title bumper that starts off each episode is missing. It is present in the Japanese DVD/Blu-ray releases from Happinet.
- Originally, the background music was composed by Kenji Yamamoto. However, on March 9, 2011, following the airing of episode 95, Yamamoto was fired by Toei for accusations of plagiarism in his music. In subsequent reruns of the first 95 episodes, his score was replaced with Shunsuke Kikuchi's from "Dragon Ball Z", and the last three episodes of the Cell Arc, which were supposed to have the Yamamoto BGM, were replaced at the last minute with the Kikuchi score before they could have aired.
- Here is a list of versions where the original Kenji Yamamoto score for "Dragon Ball Kai" was featured in:
- Episodes #001-#095 (Original Fuji Television broadcasts)
- Episodes #001-#076 (Japanese Blu-Rays)
- Episodes #001-#072 (Japanese DVDs)
- Episodes #001-#063 (USA broadcasts on Nicktoons; English dub)
- Episodes #001-#052 (USA DVDs/Blu-Rays; Parts 1-4 versions; English dub)
