From 8Bit Brownies Inc., the creators of Galacticast, A Comicbook Orange is a three-four minute weekly comic book web series featuring rapid-fire reviews and interviews with top industry creators. Hosted by Casey McKinnon, co-written by Rudy Jahchan and directed by Josh Allard, the team packages the series with custom special effects, creative intros and outros, and promotes interactivity with their audience.
It has quickly become my favorite video podcast after Rob from 1 000 000 Comics in Montreal recommended it. And with Sound On Sight getting ready to launch our own video show, I felt the need to promote the hard workers over at 8Bit Brownie.
On the season 5 finale they interviewed the creator of Scott Pilgrim, Bryan Lee O’Malley so I thought it would be a good episode to expose our readers to.

It's kind of surprising that it took this long actually. Hosted web series are everywhere these days, reviewing everything from comicbooks, movies, video games and even street food vendors. So it's only fitting that the this month has seen the launch of two new smart phone application review web series—Revision3's new series, AppJudgment, and indie entry iPhun. AppJudgment is an in-house creation that will rotate hosts through known Rev3 personalities like co-founder David Prager, iFanBoy host Ron Richards, and TekZilla and HD Nation host Patrick Norton. The new series joins the network's growing slate of tech and internet friendly hosted web series which includes standout hit Diggnation. Cranking out about 6 million views per month, Revision3 as a network has the edge here in terms of reach. But don't rule out the iPhun.tv series which has its own heavyweight team behind it—internet 'troublemaker' Sean Bonner hosting, web series vet Rudy Jahchan (Galacticast,...

Comic geeks, the wait is over—A Comicbook Orange is back. After a stint on NextNewNetworks' Pulp Secret channel, the popular weekly comic book web series from creators Casey McKinnon and Rudy Jahchan launches its third season today. McKinnon returns as host of the four minute episodes, which are chock full of lightning quick news from the comic world (you might have to watch each one twice to catch it all) and interviews with the top creative names in the industry. The Canadian natives McKinnon and Jahchan make up 8Bit Brownies, the production company behind the pair's well-received sci-fi sketch comedy web series Galacticast. In fact A Comicbook Orange itself is a spinoff of sorts from Galacticast, where it first appeared as segment back in May of 2006. It wasn't until June of 2007 that the series debuted on its own, picking up a loyal following of comic book enthusiasts.
