Warm and authentic comedy
Hereforthetruffles30 May 2022
I love this show - the characters feel authentic and it has a genuine warmth, especially when tackling difficult subjects. The young cast are going to go on and do great things!

An important theme, ruined by the execution
bosporan27 May 2022
Infantile story built around lazy stereotyping and a hackneyed, laid-back cinematographic style that pays the subject matter scant respect. It is trying to do too many things at once and fails at all of them.

Cheap television with little or nothing to recommend it.

Produced by Organised Crime?

Click on the author of many of the reviews and see that the accounts were specifically created to post a single glowing review for this utter bilge.

There will be shows that can move people to break their read-only behaviour and voice their opinion for the first time, but no way is this a candidate.

Maybe somebody in the production has made a bad decision and bought some kind of fake review boost product on the darknet.

Essentially, this is so bad, it's the type of show that will be used as the poster child for getting the BBC gutted and all but shutdown.

What a fantastic comedy about young people by young people. Funny and heartfelt. Have really enjoyed watching it with my young adults. Looking forward to another series.

Fresh

Watching the character development unfold on this 4 part series has been a delight. One the most original shows I've seen in a long time. Plenty of laugh out loud moments combined with real life day to day challenges explored by the terrific young cast.

Excellent new comedy!

I don't usually even smile at tv comedy but this made me laugh out loud. The script is both hilarious but also touching. The kids do awful things but you still love 'em because it offers a wider context into their lives! Can't recommend highly enough.

Brilliant

Great comedy series, really well written, feels very authentic. Best comedies are those which make you laugh and cry which this does in abundance. Particularly like how they've humanised the children and helped the audience to understand how and why they got excluded from school. You really grow to love them by the end. Well done to everyone involved.

Refreshingly funny

Love the way the writers have focused on an often unrepresented group and cleverly executed their real life struggles and challenges in a hilarious way. I'm left wanting more.

Excellent!
admin-5766029 May 2022
Watched all four episodes and it just gets better and better. The script is ace managing to combine laugh out loud comedy with the real life challenges kids face without being at all preachy. Great performances from the newcomers and the teachers, Tom Moutchi and Hannah Walters. Give it a go!

I don't have much to say here other than the fact that I just watched this for the first time. Binge-worthy and hilarious. Recommended to all my friends and family.

Fantastically funny and relatable
mayacurry-0545130 May 2022
I'm from London and my husband is from Northern Ireland. We watched this together and both found it equally hilarious and heart renching at times. Growing up in London I found the dialect and situations the kids found themselves in totally relatable and extremely nostalgic. Brilliant acting and producing all round.

I was watching this with my grandchildren and was very surprised to find ( with a little help from them) that I understood it and that it was extremely funny. It was also quite touching. Excellent entertainment 👌

Fresh, funny and a cracking cast
elaine_robb30 May 2022
Really fresh new comedy - a cracking cast with young faces we haven't seen before bringing genuine authenticity to their roles. Representation is everything and it's great to see a sector of education not usually brought to the screen. Love a show where I laugh lots but also learn something. Teens/20s will love it but definitely a family watch with your older kids.

Amazing comedy with lots of new talent
Dyana_200328 May 2022
This series gets better with every episode. Great dialogue and lots of jokes but with serious themes and storylines too. The world feels incredibly authentic and I would like to see where the characters go next. I've not seen anything like it on TV before.

Its sweet but a bit buddy comedy
henri-2684229 May 2022
It tackles things we don't see enough and is really sweet and fun to watch. The only problem i have is I need more because the show goes slow in tersm of development and I would like more serious moments and deep dives cause the comedy is quite crass or rooted in the issue the children face so it would be nice to look at these things a bit more. It is very good and fun though.

Moreish and warming comedy
isaacdwek29 May 2022
Really enjoyed this British comedy. I found it easy to watch and moreish, whilst still being edgy and hilarious!! The characters were all multi layered but also funny at a surface level too. Some really high quality acting performances. Shame only 4 episodes ... Hope a season 2 comes soon.

Hilarious, refreshing
Lyra_naboo30 May 2022
Hilarious new comedy, loved the pilot and was very excited to see it make it to series and how the cast and storylines would develop.

So brilliantly refreshing, felt authentic and engaging as it explores the complexity of these young people's lives using comedy and realistic storylines.

Really connects the audience to these underrepresented and often marginalised young people in a positive way.

Shame there were only four episodes, would love to see where the show could go next!

PRU OUTSTANDING, PHENOMENAL SHOW 10/10
sonatolu30 May 2022
PRU is a very amazing show which deserves to win many awards. We tend to see very vital storylines which haven't been told before and need to be seen on camera more. From characters like Jaden's younger brother Ruben and Jaden himself the family as a whole goes through a lot. We see that if Ruben carries on acting the way he currently is "he may even share a cell with Malachi if lucky". This is he if not redirected into right line. We see Halil who has ADHD who needs a lot of support or else when he gets into the real world he could end up in a heinous place. PRU as a whole is just has very unique untold stories that isn't shown on screens very often. But, not only that it has a twist and nice flavour of comedy to it, so as we see these mind blowing storylines we are having a laugh to it as well. Ten out of Ten show would recommend to everyone!!!
