Eliza Dushku, Reed Diamond and Adair Tishler each had to complete their filming in a single day. Due to child acting laws, Tishler had to complete her filming in only a few hours.
Eliza Dushku, the main actress of the series and the top-billed in the opening credits, is first seen seventeen minutes into the episode. In total, she has less than three minutes of screen time.
This episode did not air in the initial US release (although it did in European broadcasts). Instead, it was conceived as a low-budged series finale/cliffhanger ending to appear on exclusively on the DVD release after low ratings threatened to have the show cancelled. When the series was picked up for a second and final season, a sequel episode, Epitaph 2, was written to round out and complete the entire series, wrapping uo the cliffhanger threads of what was initially intended to be only bonus content.
This episode takes place in 2019.
Chris William Martin previously guest starred in an episode of Tru Calling "Murder in the Morgue" with Eliza Dushku.
