Willow Smith is a rising actress and singer. As the only daughter of Hollywood stars Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, she has worked hard to get out of the shadow of her parents. So far, Smith has been successful in her endeavors and has forged a path for herself that would make her parents proud of her.
Willow Smith is primarily a singer, but she has acted in films and done modeling gigs too, all of which have contributed to her net worth. The 23-year-old has steadily made a name for herself and has become one of the most influential figures in the industry, regardless of her family name.

Rapper Pitbull calls it an “honour” to collaborate with singer Dolly Parton, whom he tagged as “the real deal”.
The new track pays a tribute to working women and features a sample of Parton’s ‘9 to 5’ song, reported by deadline.com.
During ‘The Trilogy Tour’, which features Pitbull, Ricky Martin and Enrique Iglesias, the ‘Fireball’ hitmaker visited the ‘Jolene’ singer for a photo shoot.
Pitbull posted a picture featuring him and Parton together.
For the captioned, he wrote: “It’s an honour to be collaborating with one of music’s most powerful women, gracias Dolly Parton! Dale!”
The ‘Hotel Room Service’ singer had previously shared a clip of himself, during a concert in North Carolina, where he talked about his meeting Parton.
“This morning I had the pleasure, the honour, to be able to meet the one, the only and the living legend, Dolly Parton,” Pitbull said.

In George Lucas' 1977 sci-fi/fantasy film "Star Wars," the roguish smuggler Han Solo (Harrison Ford) claimed to have the fastest starship in the galaxy. Named the Millennium Falcon, the ship was said to have "made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs." Clearly, Lucas hadn't yet grasped that a parsec is a measure of distance (about 19 trillion miles) and not time.
When it comes to its design, the Millennium Falcon is more or less a flying saucer. It carries a radar dish on its dorsal region, two fork-like protrusions on its bow (called loading arms), and its cockpit rests protruding from its starboard side. Otherwise, it's flat and plate-shaped. Like many of the vehicles in "Star Wars," it is encrusted with textured plating and scads of ineffable machinery that only the most devoted Starwoids could accurately explain. It's a small ship, too, only able to house about a half dozen people comfortably.

If you witnessed the chaos unfold in Kabul airport two years ago, it probably won’t come as much of a surprised to learn the US Army left a helicopter or two in Afghanistan. More alarming might be the news, calmly delivered at the start of this profoundly unreassuring documentary, that the cache of weapons and equipment that remains is estimated to be worth somewhere in the region of $7,000,000,000. In Hollywoodgate, an out-of-competition premiere at the Venice Film Festival this week, the Egyptian journalist and filmmaker Ibrahim Nash’at risks life and limb to achieve the improbable: nestling his way in with the Taliban fighters in charge of an abandoned U.S. base and observing their attempts to utilize what the Army left behind. “The Americans left us an enormous treasure,” one General observes; Nash’at’s film offers a worrying insight into what they might decide to do with it all.

Let’s get the “Sex and the City” comparisons out of the way quickly, shall we? Co-created by “Satc” mastermind Darren Star and Jeffrey Richman (“Modern Family”), “Uncoupled” — the new eight-episode Netflix series headlined by the immensely appealing Neil Patrick Harris, returning to sitcoms nearly a decade after nine seasons as the suit-wearing, womanizing Barney Stinson on “How I Met Your Mother” — centers on the romantic escapades of the emotionally messy but impeccably dressed Michael (Harris) and his trio of closest friends. That includes single mother and straight talker Suzanne (sitcom vet Tisha Campbell), Michael’s partner in the multimillion-dollar Manhattan residential real estate biz; the sex-obsessed Billy (Emerson Brooks), a TV weatherman who never met a younger man he didn’t like; and self-deprecating art dealer Stanley, who’s so highbrow he sends a naked pen-and-ink sketch to potential hookups. Shades of Carrie, Miranda, Samantha, and Charlotte, yes? And just like “Satc,...

Apple announced Friday that it will release a new Werner Herzog documentary, “Fireball,” on its Apple TV+ platform. The film explores how shooting stars, meteorites, and deep impacts on Earth have shaped human mythology and focused our attention on other realms and worlds.
“Fireball” will mark the third collaboration between the legendary director and geoscientist Clive Oppenheimer, who is co-directing the doc.
Oppenheimer, a professor of volcanology at the University of Cambridge, appeared in Herzog’s 2007 Antarctica-set Oscar-nominated “Encounters at the End of the World,” and again in Netflix’s 2016 doc “Into the Inferno.” That most recent film earned an Emmy nomination and followed the pair as they traveled the world to explore various volcanic sites. Much like “Fireball,” that film also drew connections between natural phenomena and its impact on humankind.

Thai film maker Thanakorn Pongsuwan, best known for 2009 film “Fireball,” died on Friday. He was 46.
His death was not caused by the coronavirus outbreak, though his last rites will be affected. Rather he died following an unsuccessful battle with cancer of the blood (lymphoma.) The news was announced by his sister Manussanun Pongsuwan, who is also his producer.
Also known as “Un,” Pongsuwan was responsible for writing and directing five completed and released feature films. His “Fake” appeared at the 2003 edition of the Vancouver International Film Festival. A new piece of poster art and a featurette have been released for Lucasfilm's upcoming animated series Star Wars Resistance and they highlight the new characters that will fill the story and make up Team Fireball. I also like the little tagline that comes with it: "Some Heroes Stick To The Plan. Others Just Wing It."
The Fireball team consists of, Jarek Yeager, former Rebellion pilot who is trying to live a quiet life as a mechanic. That all changes when Poe and Leia ask for his help; Tam Ryvora, a fellow mechanic who used to be a racer herself before she lost her ship. “She’s tough, no-nonsense, she kind of has attitude"; Neeku, a green naive alien, who is an "unbelievably positive, happy character"; and Bucket, a droid who has a thing for wearing X-wing fighter pilot helmets.

Taylor Swift made a surprise appearance at Nashville’s Bluebird Café on Saturday night, sitting in with singer-songwriter Craig Wiseman, an old friend whom met Swift at a charity show when she was a teenager. Swift received a standing ovation.
“I wanted to say a big thank you to the Bluebird Cafe,” Swift said, seated beside Wiseman, according to a report in the Tennesean. “I think any songwriter in town would echo my sentiments and say that this is kind of the only place where this exists — this particular place where you get to come and hear the writer’s take on the songs they’ve put out into the world.”
She said one of her earliest lessons was that all a song needed was three chords and simplicity.
“If there’s truth in it, don’t overthink it,” she said. “It can be the same three chords over and over again.

Two professional basketball players were recently suspended for the remainder of the season by the NBA for brandishing firearms in the workplace. Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton got into serious trouble for their actions but, to their credit, at least they didn't start shooting each other on the court. Neither, by the way, do the players in the Thai action flick Fireball -- they just beat the crap out of each other.
Fireball, which was released on DVD last week, combines basketball with Thai boxing. The Road (15)
(John Hillcoat, 2009, Us) Viggo Mortensen, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Robert Duvall. 113 mins
Looking for something cheery and sunny to usher those winter blues away? Well this sure as hell ain't it. In fact, "hell" is a pretty good description for this adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's post-apocalypse bleakfest. Hell frozen over, through which Mortensen and son are condemned to wander, cold and hungry, as some of the few survivors of an unnamed global catastrophe – the rest are mostly marauding gangs or pathetic vagrants. Somehow, though, the effect is less devastating on screen than it was on the page. It's difficult to do justice to McCarthy's prose, and one post-apocalyptic movie landscape looks much like another. Still, it's a sustained exercise in panoramic grimness, and we don't need it to be too devastating, do we?

Following our earlier story back in August, we‘ve have a quick update of note for all our UK readers, keen to see Thanakorn Pongsuwan's (Fireball) dark and ever so slightly (ok very) violent Thai supernatural action thriller Opapatika. The UK release date has finally been announced and Opapatika: Demon Warriors is heading for an English subtitled R2 DVD release on February 15th 2010.

Now what could be better news than Thanakorn Pongsuwan’s hardcore fight pic Fireball is heading to pastures new, for release in the UK? Why, that a follow up (that’s actually a prequel) film is on way of course! The fact that Pongsuwan was planning a second Muay Thai action film has been common knowledge for a while, but up until now we’ve not had much of anything to take look at. Not any more....enter stage left a teaser poster for the flick. Reading through the synopsis it does rather sound like they will be angling for the opportunity to drop some western martial arts experts (Scott Adkins anyone?) into the mix. On that, we shall see. Still in pre production Fireball Begins should start filming in the new year. Synopsis: Tiger returns to his hometown to find it overrun by American soldiers fighting the neighbouring Vietnam War.

If the UK trailer for Thanakorn Pongsuwan’s hard core Muay Thai fight pic Fireball just didn’t provide you with enough face pummelling action, how about some more? To support the release E1 entertainment have created a swanky looking e-book for the title, chock full of stills, character/actor bios and best of all, a new clip with more fight footage. Ouuuch!

We tipped it was coming and those of you in the UK had best get ready for some truly bone crunching fight fun. Blending martial arts with Basketball (work with me here people) Thanakorn Pongsuwan’s ('Opapatika') action movie Fireball is a refreshing genre flick that fans of Muay Thai movies and Martial Arts should enjoy if they aren't too sniffy about text book moves. For everyone else who enjoys seeing tough fighters rip bloody hell out of each other, welcome to your new favourite film! Fireball goes on sale January 18th. Synopsis: Tai gets out of jail and discovers that his twin brother, Tan has been in coma for the past year. Tan had entered the world of Fireball, a violent game based on basketball hosted by underground criminal gangs, so as to raise money for Tai's early release. However, he was brutally beaten by another player,...

The only thing a solid muay thai action flick needs is a loose enough plot to get the characters from point A to fight scene B, but once you get everyone ready to rumble, you have to point the camera in the right direction and showcase some great martial arts. Seems simple enough, but Fireball proves that not all martial arts movies are made equal and that aiming the camera in the right direction is tougher than it seems. Tai (Preeti Barameeanat) gets out of jail thanks to bail money from his twin brother (played by the same actor) who is sadly in a coma from all the money-raising/underground mob activity he's engaged in. So, Tai goes underground and joins a Fireball team as well to avenge his brother's coma. First of all, I understand that this is an action flick first and foremost, so the story doesn't necessarily have to be of the highest caliber...

Film festivals are often a conumdrum for me because I sometimes wonder how they get started and, more to the point, who picks the films that get shown at them. My problem is that the films selected for many of the festivals don’t usually seem all that appealing (at least to me) and are often a collection of “art for art’s sake” films overwhelmed by their own sense of self-importance.
Fortunately, I don’t have this problem with the Fantastic Fest in Austin, which runs from September 24th to October 1st. The films selected for this festival represent an eclectic mix of genres and filmmakers and what I consider to be some of the most interesting, innovative and creative films being produced today. Sure, they’re not all potential Hollywood blockbusters, nor are they for everyone, but they are all pretty much guaranteed to be interesting, entertaining and in their own way,...

It’s taken two whole years to arrive, but Thanakorn Pongsuwan's (Fireball) uber violent Thai supernatural action thriller Opapatika is finally heading for an English subtitled DVD release. For the U.S it’s been re titled with the suitable (but we guess it could have been a whole lot worse) inaccurate tag of “Demon warriors.” Whilst in the UK they’ve met half way and gone with “Opapatika: Demon Warriors.” The Thai official site for the film has long since gone the way of the Dinosaurs; you can however take a gander at load of clips and pics, on the French site for the flick.

Rather than Fireball: Muay Thai Dunk (yes the Singapore release had this additional subtitle), this could have been more aptly titled as Firebrawl: Anything Goes, and I mean that in a nice way. We know enough of how sports and martial arts can coexist in movies, either in comical fashion like Stephen Chow’s Shaolin Soccer, or played in a more deadpan, idol-movie like manner with the Jay Chou vehicle Kung Fu Dunk. Joining their ranks is this latest action film directed by Thanakorn Pongsuwan, which fuses an illegal underground basketball league, and Muay Thai fighting.

Y’know, because one film combining Thai martial arts and an American past time created by a Canadian just isn’t enough. Writer/director Thanakorn Pongsuwan is currently making the prequel to the original Fireball film. Calling it Fireball Begins [heh? Heh?] the synopsis for the film is as follows…
During the Vietnam War, American soldiers stationed in Thailand learnt Muay Thai fighting. The soldiers began to challenge the local gyms and with the advantages of their size, they defeated them one after another. News of the defeats reached a village that had inherited one of the oldest styles of Muay Thai who defeated the foreigners. The soldiers challenged the villagers to a new game that combined basketball to guarantee them the competitive edge. Thai fighters had to learn the art of basketball to win the challenge of the first Fireball game and restore Thai honor.
Really, who doesn’t want to...
