In A Better World (Sony) Winner of last year’s Best Foreign Film Oscar, this Danish export looks at two fractured families and the effect that the adult world dysfunction has on their two sons, who form an immediate and potentially deadly bond. Director Susanne Bier delivers another powerful work that maintains its drive during the films’ first 2/3, then falters somewhat during the last act. Still, well-worth seeing, and beautifully made. Also available on Blu-ray disc. Bonuses: Deleted scenes; Commentary by Bier and editor Pernille Bech Christensen; Interview with Bier. Widescreen. Dolby and DTS-hd 5.1 surround.
X-men First Class (20th Century Fox) “Origins” film set in the early 1960s, traces the beginnings of Magento and Professor X (played ably here by Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy), and how the once-close friends and colleagues became bitter enemies. First half is slam-bang entertainment at its stylish best,...

Politics of Love is a romantic comedy, written by Gary Goldstein and directed by William Dear. The film stars Brian White (Brick, Stomp the Yard), Mallika Sherawart (The Myth, Murder), and Loretta Devine (The PJs TV Series, Waiting to Exhale), and is about two rival political campaign teams caught up in the whirlwind of euphoric romance.
“Politics make strange bedfellows” seem to be the aim of this political comedy that is based in the heated 2008 U.S. Presidential campaigns of Obama and McCain, with the two political headquarters within a stone’s reach of the other. Since political films are not my forte—I decided to take on the challenge of watching this film. How did I fair? Let’s just say it wasn’t at all what I expected—I expected the worse.
Aretha (Sherawat) has returned home after being laid off from her high-powered job in New York.

It's a wash for Mallika Sherawat in Politics of Love.
Opposites apparently attract in Politics of Love, a bi-partisan romantic comedy set during the 2008 Presidential race. The movie stars Bollywood bombshell Mallika Sherawat (Murder) and up-and-comer Brian White (of Tyler Perry’s forthcoming feature film Good Deeds).
In Politics of Love, politics makes strange bedfellows — particularly in the case of a savvy, African-American conservative Republican (White) reluctantly falling for his Democratic counterpart: a beautiful Indian-American Obama campaign volunteer (Sherawat). The inevitable sparks fly and romance blossoms for the seemingly mismatched pair of lovers in the frantic days leading up to Election Day.
Directed by William Dear (The Perfect Game), the movie also stars Loretta Devine (For Colored Girls), Ruby Dee (American Gangster) and Gerry Bednob (The 40-Year-Old Virgin).
Prior to its DVD release, the movie screened in a limited number of theaters (starting Aug.

Codeblack has obtained domestic distribution rights to rom-com Politics of Love and arranged a theatrical release in July respectively.
Fyi, Brian White is relatively famous for his exploits in football and his slowly growing film career. White has been seen in Fighting, 12 Rounds, and I Can Do Bad All By Myself.
The story of Politics of Love follows a black Republican, played by Brian White, who falls in love with an Indian Democrat, performed by Bollywood star Mallika Sherawat, blossomed out of the 2008 presidential election of Barrack Obama.
This idea looks like a childish try to make a few million bucks out of a genuinely interesting concept. The names of actual candidates being attached to the film seem to only function as an artificial draw for watchers.
But you can say instead of these words:
The world’s hottest election got much hotter! Politics has never been this sexy! Mudslinging by sex-tape!

Codeblack Entertainment has acquired domestic distribution to romantic comedy Politics of Love (Love, Barack) and plans a July theatrical release.
We’ve covered the film on this site, so here’s a brief refresher…
Inspired by the real-life romances that blossomed during then Sen. Barack Obama’s presidential campaign, the movie takes place in the run-up to the 2008 election. Brian White plays a black volunteer coordinator working for the local John McCain office who strikes unexpected sparks with the devoted Indian Obama volunteer coordinator, played by Mallika Sherawat.
Ruby Dee and Loretta Devine co-star in this romantic comedy.
William Dear directed from a screenplay by Gary Goldstein.
I have no idea how CodeBlack plans to release the film; it’ll surely be a very limited release, if what they did with Thomas Ikimi’s Legacy which starred Idris Elba is anything to go by.
Below is a teaser trailer for...

"When I met former American President Bill Clinton for dinner, he was tickled by the idea of a political rom-com that traces the love affair between a die-hard Democrat and a Republican loyalist in the frantic days leading up to the 2008 Us presidential elections. He said that it was time a film like this was made,” says an upbeat Mallika Sherawat. The actor plays Aretha Gupta, an Obama volunteer, in Love, Barack—Politics Of Love. A month before D-Day, Gupta, madly and unexpectedly, falls for her Republican counterpart. Brain J White (Men Of A Certain Age) enacts the role of ...
