Funny black comedy with amusing situations , outlandish roles and twisted plot .

Roaring, outrageous film with odd characters , surreal imagery and silly turns. Dark humor and a typical Spanish story in which there's comedy, tongue-in-cheek , humor, action, drama and results to be entertaining enough. It deals with two brothers : Jordi Sánchez, Carlos Areces, who have been estranged for a long time but finally come together in order to execute their mother's inheritance as soon as possible, a building full of old rent tenants who do not want to leave. In that place both have pinned all their hopes to improve their precarious economic situation. They are interspersed with a series of situations that evoke the sitcoms created by the Caballero brothers, especially due to the prominence of a trio of neighbors of a certain age, faced by three mature actresses Loles León, Carmina Barrios and Pilar Bergés,

This is a full-on surreal Psychotronic black-comedy that blends thrills , suspense , tension as well as an intriguing script full of hilarious incidents, drama and exciting situations . Black comedy of social customs about two very different and estranged brothers end up united by the ambition of inheriting a building owned by their elderly mother. Packed with scenes of absurd nature, this story is a fantastic farce, as we follow the ridiculous situations of a varied group of quirky characters whose destination is dictated by an exaggerated ambition . A building in which the most selfish desires end up being shown and in which Sánchez and Gómez seem to have found a mix between the most brutal humor of Álex de la Iglesia's cinema with a more typical commercial approach. An effective, amusing and partially successful comedy, but one that risks little. With a more commercial approach typical of the Caballeros. The result is a comedy that flows very quickly and in which it is its large cast that knows how to shine by creating a good 'troupe' of comic performers. . Stars Jordi Sanchez (Antonio Recio in ¨La que se avecina¨) changes neighborhood communities to direct and star in this customs black comedy, written by four hands together with Pep Antón Gómez. With the film "La Comunidad" as a reference, Sánchez and Antón build this story of two ruthless and egoistic brothers. Carlos Areces (¨Sad ballad of a trumpet¨) plays Carlos pretty well, he's a wit, a bachelor fed up with taking care of his apparently recently deceased mother, while Jordi Sánchez is Paco, the selfish, manipulative and ruined brother. The cast is completed by Loles León (Fuga de cerebros I and II), Silvia Abril (¨Padre no hay mas que uno¨), Carmina Barrios (¨Carmina o revienta¨). Adding the very veteran secondary Saturnino García, Pilar Bergés, with the brief special collaboration of Antonio Resines.

The motion picture was mediocre but professionally directed by Jordi Sánchez and Pep Anton Gómez , including some flaws and gaps. As a debut feature, 'Alimañas' shows two directors who know how to handle commercial comedy well, with just the right amount of black humor to capture that more daring audience. Rating: 5.5/10, acceptable and passable. Comedy with a frantic pace that will appeal you for its commercial vocation with its fair doses of black humor.
