Hell of an episode as far as first episode goes
othmandola18 April 2022
I liked how the show started and wasting no time and opening exactly on point i was kind of getting Silent Hill's like creepy vibe. But what i really liked about this one is that this show wasn't just to scare you away as most of them does these days, but rather shows you what it's really like to live in a town surrounded by mysterious creatures.

Wayward Pines

It's Just Like The Same Plot As Wayward Pines!

Looks Like Someone Watched It And Partly Based The Show On It! It's Still Really Good. I Really Like Harold Perrineau.

Had me gripped throughout this season. I,m constantly wondering what's going on and how has Victor lasted the longest I can't wait for season 2. I know this program is nuts cos Jack Bender is involved. Cant wait for season 2.

Very Interesting!

Warning: Spoilers
Loving it so far, seems different to everything I've watched lately. The only thing I disliked about this episode was the mum just standing yelling at the child instead of running over to stop her? They probably could've timed her catching her a bit better to make it seem realistic not being able to prevent the outcome. But besides that little flaw, awesome!

Come, come to a big city!
cjonesas27 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Pilot: Honestly, that was suspenseful with good acting, creepy atmosphere, a village town that doesn't seem so innocent with more than its share of shady and strange people who most likely bear dark secrets and a sheriff who's somewhat overwhelmed by some of the "citizens" who did not listen to him as they should and paid the price for it (put in the screenplay for drama and gory sensation).

It is still developing and if you don't see a smooth flow and lots of plots thrown at you, it's because of that.

More than good for the first episode, many little mysteries still remain, like the people responsible for the accident and that young creepy girl who doesn't like to talk much and when she does, she accompanies it with kisses, "actions" and a bland ghostly face.

The mood is very well set for the first night in the RV!

Episode 1
bobcobb30130 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Maybe this show should have had a more robust title as I feel like it deserves a bigger audience and wider acclaim than it has gotten.

It has the low budget horror film vibe and it has a very simple premise. We are going to see some twists and turns I am sure, but they are not devoting too much time to those elements early on. We just had one quick shock with the diner employee near the end.

Not the greatest acting in the world, but that is not always needed for a show like this. But this was a fun start and they easily have me hooked and wanting to know what comes next in this wild town of theirs.

Great beginning to hopefully a great show
koberoosen29 February 2024
I already know this serie for 2 years and I finally took the time to watch it.

After seeing several mixed ratings i started sceptical in the beginning. But that wasn't for long, it grabbed me and i was stuck at my seat.

This premiere really took me back in time when i watched "Lost" it gave me like the same feeling that i had when i watched the pilot of lost.

Harold perrineau was a character in lost that i didn't like and now i loved him in this first episode. He is a great actor who can play every role.

This serie has got everything you like if you loved lost.

Its exciting, the cinematography is beautiful, i love the darkness and the scary parts.

Im curious about how the story will unfold, lets hope for the best!

Great pilot! 10/10.

Long Day's Journey Into Night
Prismark1011 August 2022
Something happens at night in a small American town.

It starts off effectively enough. A little girl is visited by her grandmother and she lets her in.

The next morning the police are examining child's ripped corpse.

While the sheriff is overseeing the funeral. The Matthews family come by.

They are lost and they find out that they cannot leave the town. After an accident it is up to the sheriff to rescue the family before it gets dark.

The first episode does a lot of world building with a large set of characters.

The initial premise is intriguing in a Lost kind of way.

Unoriginal cash grab
Dzheph4 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Save your time.

Remember how we all thought "Lost" was great until it became clear that there were no mysteries, only random magic? Remember how The Walking Dead just kept trudging on like a zombie for at least a decade after the last of its life-force was spent?

"From" is what happens when producers jam together lifeless bits of other stories (which, it should be noted, disappointed audiences when those stories were fresh) in an effort to get a few more years out of the retread.

You might feel a curious and exciting sense of "what the heck is going on here?" Save your curiosity for a story that deserves it, because this one doesn't. After two seasons all I have seen is a collection of cheap tricks and no sign of intelligent life.

A Remarkable Start to an Exceptional Series
ameerbarram4 July 2023
The Episode sets the stage for an extraordinary continuation of the series, captivating viewers with its impeccable storytelling and exceptional performances. This episode not only lives up to the high standards set by its predecessor but also surpasses them, leaving audiences eagerly anticipating what lies ahead.

One of the most commendable aspects of this episode is its seamless transition from the previous season. The narrative effortlessly picks up where it left off, immersing viewers back into the intricate world of the characters. The writing is sharp and intelligent, skillfully weaving together multiple storylines while maintaining a cohesive and engaging plot.

The character development in this episode is truly remarkable. The actors deliver outstanding performances, breathing life into their respective roles. Each character is given depth and complexity, allowing the audience to connect with their struggles and triumphs on a profound level. The chemistry between the cast members is palpable, enhancing the authenticity of their interactions and making the viewing experience all the more captivating.

Visually, From continues to impress. The cinematography is stunning, with each shot meticulously composed to enhance the mood and atmosphere of the scenes. The use of lighting and color palettes further adds to the overall aesthetic appeal, creating a visually striking experience. The attention to detail in the production design is also worth mentioning, as it effectively transports viewers into the world of the series.

Furthermore, the soundtrack of this episode perfectly complements the storytelling. The music enhances the emotional impact of key moments, effectively heightening the tension and creating a sense of anticipation. The sound design is equally impressive, with crisp and immersive audio that further immerses viewers into the narrative.

Promising start
ahmadz83911 December 2022
The series premiere has me feeling optimistic. Despite the obvious parallels to "Lost" and "Under the Dome"-particularly given that some of the same people are involved in the production-"From" clearly has a unique feel to it.

One of the standout elements of the premiere was the unforgiving gore; it's not something regularly seen on television. The premise seems good, but, as with most premieres, it's difficult not to entice the viewer early on.

It is a little early to pass judgement, but the dialogue and acting certainly leave something to be desired. While it does spend a significant amount of time on exposition, laying out the various plot threads and introducing the characters, it doesn't drag enough to detract from the experience. The downside is that it leaves little room for the viewer to simply come along for the ride and discover things as they unfold. Hopefully, future episodes will strike a better balance.

The season premiere, "Long Day's Journey Into Night," is quite promising. It has all the ingredients for a good show, and I'm curious to see where it goes from here.

Nice start, but annoying plot hole
adam-walder-6-7874291 March 2022
It was a great start to a show but why do people think that in an emergency when car tyres are flat you can't drive at all!? YOU CAN!! Car still moves FFS! In the real world that whole last scene of first episode and start of the second could have been avoided if they just kept driving after tyres were spiked.

OK!?
banegoa17 March 2022
About 60 to 70 % of the dialogue spoken in this episode is the word OK. I paused around 41st minute, annoyed with how much everyone is telling each other that it's and they're and you're gonna be ... OK!? While no one, actually, is ... OK. OK? And all right. Dialogue s***s big time. The situation is not OK. The people involved are not OK. No need pointing it out how bad the situation is, but it, most definitely, is not OK. It, kind of, insults the intelligence of the viewer. NO ONE in real life, or fiction, talks like that. Unless the scriptwriter is dumbing it down. And that's SO NOT OK! People have emotional responses to certain things happening around them. They act rational or irational when they're having those responses. And that's OK. Not running around, while everything is falling apart, convincing yourself and everyone involved that it's (gonna be) OK.

Back to enduring last 10 minutes of 1st episode. Really trying to like this.

Admit it, this really kinda sucks
silverton-379598 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Fairly early on, the monsters make an appearance so at least there's no drawn out waiting to see what kind of horror show this is, but spending most of the pilot showing how a family on the road gets trapped in this little "town" is boring.

I have to ask, "Why doesn't the sheriff level with these people?" Really, since everyone there knows that they are doomed once they show up there, then it doesn't help to ignore them, knowing that they are going to keep circling through there until they become stuck somehow.

The community has electricity and running water and the road isn't potholed, so there's some mystery that will need to be explained, but I have a feeling that the explanation will take 10 episodes and will be anticlimactic.

The 8 to 10 star reviews have to be fake. Nobody could think that this series doesn't suck. 4 stars is being kind, honestly.
