bit toxic?
marwillreview10 February 2022
Well, if were talking about the message this story brings to the table we can go two different routes. Stalk a guy enough and he'll fall for you or gaslight your girl enough to break her, but she'll still end up with you because she loves you.

The movies was an ok watch. A bit uncomfortable. All these intimate scenes of high school teenagers seemed way to much for me. IDK... I think I'm getting too old for these kind of movies. I get that this kind of movies keep the younger audiences "happy", but I can't help and see how disappointing some of the newer content coming from Netflix is.

well....
rilosabrinaa5 February 2022
If i had seen the movie without reading the books, i think i may have been able to enjoy it more (but the big plot holes, and rush scenes and lack of romance but oversex annoyed me) i get it's an adaptation and things change but they made big BIG plot changes that made it had no sense at all and made the story senseless and incoherent. I wish they would had made the changes better i think i would have been able to enjoy it.

So overall it was a very mediocre movie that ad way way more potential since it was a good book.

Not as expected
sarahmariatoms5 February 2022
After reading the book, you will expect the movie to be perfect. The movie does not give everything from the book. The storyline is a little bit changed and they missed quite a lot main scenes from the book.

We have a rich kid infatuated with a poor girl next door. Single parent of the poor kid. Poor kid has a "Ducky" friend, Yoshi, who is in love with her. Prom. So, how do say Pretty in Pink in Spanish?

Sure, it's updated with the cringy stalking and hacking fir 2022.

I found it an enjoyable movie! It is a nice movie where two teenagers fall in love. The story is very typical but powerful and fun, sometimes unnecessary sex scenes here and there.

A pleasant movie to watch ;)

Lived up to the expectation
itsbriecarson5 February 2022
It's not the exact copy of the book, but the essence of the series is present. The movie does deliver the core components of a young adult book which is all one can expect from adaptations.

One issue would be the music and fast scenes in the second half. However, they still were able to pull a 405-page book into 2 hour movie.

Special mention would be Julio Peña, who lived the character, Ares. The internal battle of the character was so reflected in the expression.

Through the window of second-hand embarrassment
jmalby5 February 2022
It tells the same old cheesy story, but somehow makes it even worse and lacks any kind of newness. The acting is questionable, the pacing is very awkward and the horrible dialogue is just a cherry on top. Even the most serious scenes end up being laughable. The script is so generic and flawed that it's hard to buy any of the melodramatic in-your-face sequences. The movie tries way too hard to be cool and just ends up being really embarrassing to sit through.

Cliche and cheesy, but it's what teenage girls want and it delivers on that
Elvis-Del-Valle16 January 2024
Spanish cinema joins the trend of adaptations of Wattpad stories with this film. The story is different from the novel, but it has what you would expect from a Wattpad story written by a teenager. Raquel is another alter ego of the author who at first starts out as a stalker, but curiously becomes something that changes Ares's life. Young Ares is the typical rich and handsome boy who after meeting Raquel, what begins as a simple hobby, turns into a romantic relationship.

It's a cheesy romance story that, like many others on Wattpad, is told from the perspective of a teenager. Of course there are erotic scenes that sometimes go to the extreme, but that's what teenage girls fantasize about all the time. Many may interpret these types of stories as something toxic, but the reality is that teenage girls are not saints and have that need to explore the appetites that the world offers. That is something that of course has to be allowed because even though there may be consequences for wanting to have a relationship like the ones seen in these types of stories, it is really necessary for them to experience it and suffer the consequences to discover what life really is..

The relationship between Raquel and Ares has its negative side, but it was something necessary that they had to experience and then evolve. Ares is someone who never knew love and had to be a victim of it to discover how beautiful and painful it can be. The same in Raquel's case, because she had to discover that Ares was more than just a pretty face. Although it may not be to the liking of many, this is what young women today want. Toxic romances obviously have a negative effect, but if teenage girls want to experience that, it is better to allow them so after that they can discover what things are like in the real world. Obviously, seeing it from the perspective of someone who doesn't agree with these types of movies will clearly see it as a bad movie. But from the perspective of a teenager who needs to please his hormones, it's a cute story.

This is the kind of movie that today's youth wants, otherwise it wouldn't have become a trilogy. It can be said that as a romance movie for teenagers of generation Z it fulfills its purpose even if it has flaws. What they want to see is not a masterpiece, but a story that reflects those feelings and desires that teenage girls need to satisfy regardless of the consequences. A Través De Mi Ventana is a film not suitable for everyone, since its only target audience is the female audience of generation Z who wants to experience romances of this type and have all the freedom to fulfill that objective. My final rating for this movie is an 8/10.

Is this a wattpad book?
bossykissy7 February 2022
Typical good girl falls for bad boy story.

She's desperate and creepy and he's a weird a$$hole. The voice over is terrible and the dialogue is cringey.

This is a teenage movie
This is a teen movie, and people need to remember this when leaving reviews and when deciding to watch it. For me it was fun and exciting. Both lead roles make some stupid decisions as we all did/do, as they are teens (I just think people need to remember this :D). It's a classic rich/poor storyline, and it fulfilled my expectations. I took 1 star away because there were just too many sex scenes.

Rich (book)
kosmasp5 February 2022
Apparently this is based on a book/novel. I have not read that, so I can't tell you how different it is from the source. I do understand from others though, that the movie might be missing a lot of things. Which is no surprise when it comes to things being translated from page to screen.

Still the movie is able to give quite the interesting perspective and gets inside the head as good as it can ... of our two leads. There is a lot to unpack and it is a classic story of rich and poor ... but also of love ... of first love. And I reckon because it is a spanish movie, it does not hold back on the visual part of the love ... of the passion it displays. In other words there is nudity, you should not have an issue with that. And there is a lot of feelings - in both extreme spectrums, love and hate so to speak.

Very well played, it may omit a bit of other smaller characters, but it has to, to concentrate on the big picture - no pun intended.

Switched off after half time
ingamazonaite5 February 2022
This movie perhaps works for teens, because for me ( I am 49) wasn't working.

Plot is weak or no plot and dialogue is weird.

A lot of sex scenes just to cover non existing plot.

I switched off after one hour or so, so I don't know how it ended.

Two stars it's because actors were pretty, doesn't deserve more.

Reminds me of......
zac_o_12 February 2022
I found this to be very reminiscent of Pretty in Pink. With a version of Ducky; almost some identical dialogue.

I didn't hate it, I'm fact I kinda like the back and forth of desire and resentment. Hence a Spanish version of "I hate u I love you" ...nice touch.

Give it a shot.

I have just finished. Filming location is Barcelona, Spain.

It's such a cute movie, I haven't read the book so I didn't know what to expect from the movie but it turned really good!! Julio & Clara have amazing chemistry.

This movie made me feel uncomfortable...
anaraguilar8 February 2022
Yes. I felt uncomfortable Partly because I'm getting too old and I don't particularly enjoy watching steamy scenes with younger actors, but most importantly because the main guy was falling for a literal STALKER.

Her obsession with him was not endearing or attractive. Frankly it's a little disturbing how they just spy and hack into each others computers all the time.

I didn't finish watching this film, so hey, maybe that's the point of it all , but I will say it was not enjoyable to watch. I just hated those characters.

Too similar to After and 3MSC
cristina-ro5 February 2022
Very similar to teen movies After, and 3MSC, without the great actors. Ok I guess, to pass the time, but nothing special. I didn't particulary enjoy it, not enough happens in the story and too many scenes of sex. Didn't feel the chemistry between the characters.

Expected more
rolipehe5 February 2022
I read the book and they just missed a bunch of great details and storylines that made the story and love between Ares and Raquel just unique. Great visuals but it all happened so fast it kinda disappointed me. Just another failed book adaptation.

Guilty Pleasure
maria54110 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
As many reviews have stated: this is NOT the best movie in the world... but what do you expect? This is a teenage romance based off a Wattpad book so its bound to get some backlash.

You know what you are getting yourself into before watching it.

There was some unexpected parts at the ending when I thought the main character DIED... and also when I found out that he (Ares) was also stalking her so it wasn't as weird I guess??

This movie is what I expected it to be and for that reason I am sticking to a rating of 7/10.

A story for hormonally blinded people.
poetmedia6 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
In the wake of Fifty shades of grey comes another story about a young poor and shy girl who is obsessed with the rich douchy kid next door. For some reason these to instantly, and I mean instantly, fall in love and start having erotic adventures.

Of course we have the friend who harbours feelings for the female lead and of course she still chooses the rich douche in the end.

This is a lazy script full of lines that are supposed to sound mysterious or hot but only work if the viewer is filling in the blanks with hormonal stories of love from their own lives.

There is zero chemistry between the the leads here. In the beginning a voiceover tells us that Raquel is obsessed by the rich kid next door. We never get to see why. They never really speak, they trade insults and rude comments, and Raquel never acts obsessed or embarrassed, until she does, and the love interest (Ares!) never acts charming, nice or gentle (until he does, by going down on her, or fingering her in the same bed as his younger brother!?)

This is a pointless story only made to stir the butterflies in curious developing bodies. If you want a story, drama, suspense, emotional connections etc. This is not for you. If you want to watch young people naked and fantasise about your own love interest and not having to think about actual context - watch it.

But there are better acted, shot, written and edited movies out there that will give you more bang for your buck (no pun intended)

Everything is better with salt....yes please! Loved it!
cgvsluis19 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
A través de mi ventana or Through my window is a teen romantic drama based on a popular book.

It was a little darker than I expected initially with a lot of cat and mouse between the two lead characters as they both try to be the one in control or with the power in the situation. Sexy and sexual, these two have chemistry for days and I absolutely loved it. I thought it was pretty fresh in it's overall material.

Raquel's family home is surrounded by the mega mansion and compound of the Hidalgo family who have three sons...Apollo, Ares and Artemis. Raquel's bedroom looks directly across the courtyard and into Ares, the middle son's room. She has been harboring a secret crush and major cyber stalking for years. One day the youngest brother Artemis, is in the courtyard using her wifi...he tells her that Ares gave it to him to use...this is the start of their interaction.

Ares has always been a sleep with them and discard them kind of guy. There is no reason to think that Raquel will be any different...or will she?

Yes, there were some clichés, but there were also some fresh approaches...like in the moment Ares who is a total playboy is actually kind and respectful. And in fact their first sexual contact is all about pleasuring her and not selfishly taking anything for himself.

Interesting backstory and family drama on Ares part...and an equally interesting story involving Raquel's father who is not in the picture.

This wasn't your typical "fun teen romance", it wasn't "the dark forbidden teen romance"...or even a "toxic relationship" teen romance. This had two players who knew the other going in, tried to be in control and set the rules...but both in the end are irrevocably altered for the better by the other. That is what every partnership should be.

I loved it. I loved the darkness, the push and pull (cat vs mouse) aspect, the amazing chemistry, yes...the sex, the acting, and the overall story. HIGHLY recommend.

Personally I think the movie was okay. I think they movie was on the right track just not on the right train. The idea was good and the characters were it just wasn't played out to the best ability. Feels rushed but really good.
