Again, Kevin "a work in progress" he'll get there eventually

Really good-- the emotions that Toby and Miguel share at a most awkward bachelor party. Very nice that Beth was there to let Rebecca feel "Normal" for a moment, maybe not many of those moments left. Nicky, a sad, adorably crotchety, precious little booger!

Simply... AMAZING!

This episode was nothing but good!

Everything was so raw and genuine. Miguel's words about love and stars were heartwarming. The half naked painting was the only cringey part for me tho.

Can't believe only 1 episode left for the season to end. I'm already missing this show!

It's not fair, we really need this warmth in our life at least once a week :(

Good ep

Warning: Spoilers
One of the better episodes this season. My least favorite season so far.

As another pointed out, looks like Madison will be calling off the wedding.... At least I hope so. I just don't like her and I don't like them together. It all seems really unrealistic.

Please TIU, anyone not Madison!

I always forget Beth has been close to the family since she was a kid. I adore Beth and I like how she can have a clear se relationship with Rebecca.

Miguel........ I'm not sure what to say about him...... I like the actor but the character is so boring I forget he exists.

Toby.... He looks really good and I hope he gets the job he wants

Kate is even becoming a better character. Maybe it's just me but when she watched Kevin in the video she looked like she didn't feel Kevin wanted to be with Madison...but then only asked Madison if she was happy. Maybe she was just trying to sew the seed 🌱

I want Kevin and Sophie to be together... I don't think this will happen... But a girl can dream.

He's probably going to stay with Madison just because I don't want that. 😂 She's more tolerable I guess..... But..... Just no!

It was a great episode. The plot advances in an intriguing manner. I absolutely loved all the possibilities that this episode could open up in the future of the series. Wonderful writing for the dialogues, especially Miguel with his celebrity story. Really enjoy it, I can't wait for the final and the big final season that is coming...!

I read a user review that said the involvement of C-19 in the season was unnecessary, but it was involved in more than Beth's studio closure. It was the whole reason Kevin was filming in Vancouver and it had everything to do with Toby being laid off and the affect that has had on the Tobes/Kate relationship and story line - Toby called his dad, Kate met Phillip. It's why Rebecca didn't go to St. Louis and was at the cabin/getting lost on the Big 3's 40th.

The writers incorporated it into the story to make the characters and story line more relatable. While I agree it could have been left out and the story would have been a little different, but still really good without it, it's interlaced in the whole season, not just Beth's story.

Every second of this show is connected. Every part of each character's story is connected in some way and I think the writers seamlessly added in the biggest, most difficult part of the year 2020 and I think we should be grateful this show didn't see its end because of it instead of griping that it was added in.

"Some love stories are written in the stars.....
ldamena19 May 2021
And others are two people who write their love story to be written in the stars."

and there it is the gist of this episode. Kevin has to figure it out, where his love story with Madison stands. I just wish Sophie would leave him alone, I never liked her character: now I know why. I hope he makes the right decision in the finale. Nicky, love him, but he sure knows how to put his foot in it XD. Good juxtaposition with the Jerry Maguire movie and what's going on with Kevin. The Rebecca and Beth scenes ave me so may feels wish we got to see more of them like that. 1 more episode til the season ends. Let's see what happens.

A Unique Way to Present the Issues
Hitchcoc20 May 2024
As I saw the title for this episode, I was wondering who the heck Jerry was. Is he a character I missed along the way. Of course, as the guys all get together for a bachelor's party (like no other), we find out that it is the movie "Jerry Maguire" which was always Kevin's favorite, going back to family trips to the cabin. But, as we go through this, we realize that the issues in the movie (which I a long time ago and don't have any serious connections to) are issues that are in Kevin's head, especially after Sophie comes barging back. There is a great deal of conflict. First of all, Toby is disintegrating and full of angst. Miguel is totally fixated on his absent wife and her condition, Nicky is combative and nutty. Randall is the calm one who pushes the envelope, getting people to talk. We have flashbacks to an earlier trip to the cabin after Jack is gone. We see the brash Kevin, pushy and self centered. Everyone has issues to deal with. Heading for the finale.

Mediocre season
jameeeg22 May 2021
The writers probably should have left Covid out of the present day storyline. It's become distracting. The common incorrect use of mask wearing and random comments of being tested or vaccinated before characters see each other is distracting and unnecessary. Zero reason to incorporate Covid (Beth having to close her studio is the only time it was involved in the story). I wish they'd either have used it more to guide the characters or just left it out. Since they filmed scenes of the past with no issue, they really didn't need to distract the viewers who are trying to escape from reality for an hour.
