Ho, a.k.a. the Brain (a haunting Louis Koo), is part of a professional hit organization with a diabolical modus operandi. Ho and his team create intricately crafted Rube Goldberg-like occurrences that end up killing their targeted victims. It’s the perfect crime as their hits appear on the surface to be unfortunate accidents. His motley crew consists of a beautiful unnamed woman (Michelle Ye), the lackadaisical Fatty (Suet Lam) and the aged Uncle (Shui-Fan Fung).
Though their personal connections are vague, it appears that the older and heavily medicated Uncle may be related to Brain. Even though his poor memory and cigarette addiction nearly compromise one of their “accidents,” Uncle remains an integral part of the group. They form a somewhat dysfunctional family, but one that...

“Fatal Contact” and “King of Triads” director Dennis Law’s 2010 action/thriller “Vampire Warriors” came out a while ago, so I understand that Arrow Films needs a gimmick to get people interested in a relatively obscure action flick by a relatively obscure Chinese filmmaker. Still, the addition of the word “lesbian” to the title seems a little sleazy. King of Triads (Aka Bad Blood) would have you believe that police in Hong Kong would gladly put their guns aside to fight with criminals who possess mad fighting skills. In fact, it would appear that everyone in writer/director Dennis King’s fantastic world would rather fight to the death with any weapon but a gun. There also seems to be an unspoken code of honor that specifies large groups of fighters can never overpower a smaller group. One against 20 sounds insurmountable unless, as in Triad world, you’ve got an angry, stick-wielding mob with manners.
What exactly is going on in the mind of Thug #12 as he waits patiently in a corner while his peers are being beaten to a bloody pulp? Maybe he’s thinking that he needs...
