Good social little film, directed by a French film maker who will later give us some good stuff: UN JEU BRUTAL, NOCE BLANCHE, DE BRUIT ET DE FUREUR. This short tale is smoother than the following films because it was some kind of a draft for the rest. Brisseau tried to find his "marks" for the rest of his filmography. It is cute, accurate, perfect for a short movie. Those who know Jean-Claude Brisseau's films will recognize his style here, some elements already evoked in the other ones, the long length movies. This director knew exactly how ordinary people behaved in real life. This short and entertaining little film proves it.
