Catherine had 10 children in total. The last two, Victoire and Jeanne were twins. Jeanne was stillborn following the breaking of her legs to save Catherine's life. Victoire died five days later.
Henri became king in 1547, three years after his heir Francis was born.
Nostradamus was brought to the French court in 1555 after Catherine read several of his prophecies about the French royal family. Queen Catherine had made him Counselor and Physician-in-Ordinary to her son, the young King Charles IX of France.
