WarnerMedia Entertainment has given a pilot order to Today’s Special. It consists of a 4-episode pickup for the daily sitcom from David Wain (Wet Hot American Summer), A.D. Miles (The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon) and Jax Media. The unusual order stems from the project’s format — it will be shot and aired daily. It hasn’t been decided yet which WarnerMedia network/platform the potential series would be for.
Today’s Special is described as an ambitious new television format that blends the story-telling mechanics of a daily soap opera, the tone and style of a single camera sitcom, and the topical responsiveness of late night television. It takes place in a 24-hour diner which serves as a hub for a diverse group of characters. The lives of the staff and regulars intertwine in ongoing storylines while also reacting to trending topics and the day’s headlines.

The sweet Alison Brie, TV star of such shows as 'Community', 'Mad Men' (and short comedy series 'Hot Sluts') has been talking with NBC New York about her role in Wes Craven's 'Scream 4'. Well if you're inclined to perceive her comments in such a way could Miss Brie (below) be the next incarnation of get-what-she-wants reporter Gale Weathers (played by Courteney Cox)? It seems that Brie will play a sort of protege to the Weathers character and I guess as long as she survives the whole deal to be played out in the upcoming slasher sequel then perhaps we'll see a return for further installments? Brie joins Britt Robertson, Hayden Panettiere, Rory Culkin, Nico Tortorella, Mary McDonnell, Anthony Anderson, Aimee Teegarden Marielle Jaffe, Anna Paquin, Kristen Bell, Shenae Grimes and Lucy Hale amongst many others! Here's what Brie had to say.

Today marks the Fourth Annual Pajiba Ten -- The Ten Most Bangalicious Celebrities on the Planet, as determined and ranked by our readers. Before we get on to the Pajiba Ten, it's worth repeating what I love about this annual list. The Pajiba 10: Like nothing else we do, in one post, you can gauge the sensibility of this site and know if you're in the right place or not. We're not exactly fanboys, but we're not exactly hipster douchebags, either. But we might be somewhere in the middle; between Wes Anderson and Guillermo Del Toro, between Christopher Nolan and Paul Thomas Anderson, between Joss Whedon and David Milch. And we may hate 85 percent of the Hollywood product, and we may be occasionally pretentious, but our love of great films and quality television sure as hell doesn't obscure our libidos. We just like to fantasize about a higher class of celebrity,...

Greg Morris’ son Phil Morris, is 51 years old today. The Black Dynamite co-star has been working consistently since 1980, but hasn’t ever quite had the opportunity to really shine, relegated to mostly secondary, peripheral roles in both TV and film. His IMDb resume shows 2 films in post-production, but neither looks to be anything coming soon to a theatre near you. He even starred in a web series last year called Hot Sluts! The plotline reads, “Endless cleavage, bitchy girl fights, and an 800-pound disco ball. All in one slutty nightclub.” Well then… I guess a brotha’s gotta work, right?

I've been to a ton of panels on the Future of Web Series Production, but most of them take place at conferences like Digital Hollywood, which are dedicated to new media. On Sunday, October 11th, independent film organization Film Independent (Find) got into the act at the Find Filmmaker Forum with a panel entitled "Going Online: New Stories for New Media." In the midst of a weekend filled with sessions covering the art and business of indie film, the panel gave the producers, writers and directors in attendance a look into the possibilities the smallest screen has to offer. The session was specifically focused on creating content for the web, as opposed to using the web as a means of distribution for feature films. Producer Ami Armstrong (Mr. Nice) moderated, and panelists included Jonathan Stern (Producer, Centrifugal Films), David Worthen (Sr. Vice President, Fox Digital Studio), Scott Sanders (Director, Black Dynamite) and Mike Farah (Producer,...
