This was an outsourced episode of the anime, so I didn't really expect anything AMAZING for the animation here, since the outsourcing studio, Magic Bus, and another outsourcing studio, the name I'm unsure of, are quite conservative with the animation for their episodes on One Piece. This is no exception, so I won't knock the animation for this, especially after the episode we just had last week, which was great. I do understand the complaints about the pacing of this episode, though. It's very slow compared to other episodes we've gotten recently, since it does only cover about 10 pages of content. Though I have seen other episodes cover mostly the same amount of pages before, with some covering more than ten pages, and most of those episodes ended up being well paced. But they did ok with adapting the manga material here, in my opinion. There's not much that can be expanded upon in this bit of the story, which means there ARE a lot of very very slow moments in the episode for the canon manga material since there isn't really anything to balance the canon stuff out, like most other episodes have. But even with that, some moments are adapted quite well actually, which I will not spoil. I'm not really much of a fan of this episode, but I don't think it's bad at all, I just think it's fine. Some people might rly like this episode which is completely ok actually! I'll be waiting for next weeks episode, though, which seems promising.

Will never ever complain about the animation

The animation is consistently movie quality. I cannot imagine how much time and care goes into animating these episodes. That being said, it's obvious the pacing felt slow. Extended padded reaction shots, extended dialogues repeating the same information and a 3 minute recap with a 3 minute Intro.
Last episode was a perfect example of how to fill space with action instead of inaction. Just wish they could do it consistently.
