FROM A SKEPTIC: DO BOTHER
rettewtrevor2 November 2022
It never fails to astound me how ignorant and impatient some people can be to just shut their ears when they hear something they don't necessarily agree with. JUST LISTEN, WATCH! ANYONE who admits to not watching the whole thing through has NO BUSINESS logging in here and writing a review. I can't really use the words I'd like to to respond. Let me just say I take ALL UFO stories with a GIANT grain of salt. I am not yet totally convinced of ANYTHING, nor could I be with such muddled and scant hard evidence. That said, I DO NOT close my mind, and I listen to ALL the perspectives, all tne way through. What I WILL say is there is an absolute mystery to be solved here, and certainly this 4-part documentary is an intriguing addition to the genre, and leaves you with a lot of questions. Something unique and important IS happening here, and it's further WELL worth study. Mass illusion? Government disinformation program? Or, seriously, something from beyond this world that we don't understand? ANY of these answers are fascinating in themselves. This doc series is well worth your time, and the reference of the "Saint" mentioned above in episode 4 was in fact VERY relevant, for HOW would a person from an intensely religious age PERCEIVE an extraterrestrial encounter?? Well, by explaining it in RELIGIOUS terms, of course! As an atheist, that doesn't mean I'm confirming some religion, it means I have enough brain cells to rub together to understand they are describing how people of a different age may have perceived such an encounter. I don't usually come here to publish reviews, but another reviewer here seriously needed an answer and a counter-point.

Do bother.

Warning: Spoilers
I was impressed that the show dared to mention the historical case of the saint's experience. There are huge implications that we've been visited throughout our world's history, to be found in different religion's texts all over the world, of being visited by sky people.

There are religious paintings throughout our history that depict sightings of sky craft wrongly depicted as religious visitations (not mentioned) maybe a touchy topic for religious people.

The skills of the ancients far undermined by historians still baffle researchers today.

Back to what was covered in the show was the uncomfortable but very important subject of abduction.

The work of Dr. Mack and Budd Hopkins is discussed, often ignored in the subject of UFO research due to it's freakishly barbaric nature and the seemingly impossible abilities of the alien abductors.

It's all very important.

The traumatized abductees are of sound mind, above normal intelligence and Dr Mack put his Harvard, Pulitzer prized career on the line to involve himself.

It needed someone of Dr. Mack's standing to make it a known phenomenon.

Anyone interested in the subject of UFO's should cover the whole subject. The beings have been around for much longer than we have, are far more technologically advanced than we are.

It's been said that they have been visiting us more because our weapons, sightings at military compounds storing nuclear bombs, reported by credible military personnel.

It's a fascinating subject, with huge implications of our world's past and future.

Yes, worth the watch!

This series touches on a subject that has been ridiculed for many years. When faced with the evidence presented in a very balanced way, however, this veil of derision lies in the corner of the room where it belongs. This is what the makers of UFO have done, that is, presented information (both for and against), and left it up to the viewer to weigh that information in their own minds.

I particularly appreciate the professionals in their respective fields coming forward and explaining their interpretations of the topics on screen. This series is not shy about letting both skeptics and believers lay out evidence to back up what was said (without forcing the viewer to take sides). The world could learn a lesson from seeing open debate in action!

Don't bother

Watched part of this episode only : when it got to this woman rambling on about St Teresa of Avila (the italian nun, she said!) I did not bother to find out more about the rest of her theories ! Avila is a city in Spain, where St Teresa was born... Why include mystic and a saint in a rehash of old tales about UFO's ?
