Freaky and Happy Death Day director Christopher Landon was supposed to be heading into production on Scream 7 soon – but that project has turned out to be so troubled, he had to activate his ejector seat and get out of there. While he has since been replaced on Scream 7 by Kevin Williamson, he has been busy lining up other genre projects, signing on to direct the werewolf thriller Big Bad and the “fast-paced thriller” Drop. Coming our way from Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes, the production company team that has previously brought us the Purge franchise, Drop is moving forward first, and we’ve previously heard that it’s set to star Meghann Fahy (The White Lotus season 2), Violett Beane (The Flash), Brandon Sklenar (1923), and newcomer Jacob Robinson, who has a large following on his parent-run Tik Tok account. Now Deadline reports that Jeffery Self of Search Party and The...

Christopher Landon is to make Drop, a new thriller whose cast is coming together. More on the movie right here.
It’s been several months now since Christopher Landon – he of Happy Death Day and Freaky – departed Scream 7 as cast members Melissa Barrera (currently on the big screen in the terrific Abigail) and Jenna Ortega left the films for different reasons (Ortega’s commitments to shooting the new series of Wednesday were said to have taken her out of the film). Landon was reported to have moved on at the end of last year, but even then, it was weeks before that he apparently quit the project.
While Kevin Williamson picks up Scream 7 – with a returning Neve Campbell – Christopher Landon has effectively gone home, to Jason Blum’s Blumhouse company. Well, that and Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes. The two production companies are coming together for the film Drop,...

Receiving welfare in Japan is a social stigma. Family members are called and asked if there is financial support, supervisors inspect your privacy, and on top of that, you feel the psychological pressure of being labeled as a failed individual. That's why many people in Japan hesitate to make use of it and the downward spiral into poverty worsens. Kota Yoshida showcases one of these touching cases in his newest film “Snow Drop” which has its world premiere at the Osaka Asian Film Festival.

Sunny Deol Can’t Walk Straight In A Supposed Drunk Video Going Viral, Netizens React ( Photo Credit – Instagram )

While some assume this might be for a film shoot since the actor has often claimed he is not a heavy drinker, others just dropped hilarious comments on the viral video.
The video is claimed to be shot at Juhu Circle, where Sunny Deol is trying to cross the road, probably drunk to the highest, when a rickshaw driver helps him and even asks people to stop recording!

Lamb of God have offered up “Evidence” — a song previously unavailable in North America — on digital streaming platforms.
The band shared the track to celebrate the the first anniversary of its latest album, Omens. Previously, “Evidence” was only available as a bonus track on the Japanese CD release of the album, but it can now be streamed far and wide.
There’s nothing extraneous about “Evidence.” Belying its prior bonus-track status, the song sees Lamb of God laying down slam riffs and chunked-out breakdowns — perfect pockets for Randy Blythe to inject his growls and rhythmic gutturals. The arrangement takes some surprising turns, with its prog-like Mastodon-ish flow leading to a satiating blastbeat section at one point.
Lamb of God are also commemorating the Omens anniversary on Saturday with the widespread release of their documentary Making Of: Omens, which details the creation of the album. It will be streamable via the band’s YouTube channel.

P.O.D. have returned with the new song “Drop,” featuring guest vocals from Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe.
“When you hear it, you know it’s P.O.D.!” declared the band’s Sonny Sandoval, and he’s not wrong. The track touches all the P.O.D. bases. Sandoval’s flow is infectious and tight, and heavy rap-metal breakdowns are balanced against more melodic, alt-rock sections.
Blythe’s cameo occurs in the middle break of the song. He growls and narrates vicious lines while guitarist Marcos Curiel’s riffs build to one of the song’s many drops — the track’s title being very appropriate in this case.
“‘Drop’ is another one of a kind, unparalleled banger that sets this band apart from everyone else,” boasted Sandoval.

If you want to watch a streamer, Twitch is usually your best option. The site suffers no shortage of gamers playing titles in front of live audiences for fun and profit, and whenever a highly anticipated game launches, you can always expect an influx of streams devoted to the title. Usually, these streams just consist of live videos, but every now and then Twitch goes the extra mile by collaborating with the game’s studio.
To celebrate the launch of Baldur’s Gate 3, Twitch has implemented a very thorough bit of integration, which includes some standard rewards and a rare level of interactivity. The first level of integration is the classic Twitch Drop. From August 3 until August 17 at 9 Am Pdt, you can watch supported Twitch streamers (you can find a list of them here) play Baldur’s Gate 3, and after two hours, you can claim rewards from your personal Twitch Inventory page.

Anthony Fantano is known for sharing pointed musical opinions on his Needle Drop channel, but his latest beef has nothing to do with hip-hop. Fantano has been sued by Activision after contesting the publisher’s decision to use his voice in one of its TikTok videos.
It all started with some over-sliced pizza.
To understand the dispute between Fantano and Activision, we have to travel back to 2021, when the critic reacted to a pizza video on his TikTok account. As the pizza is cut into quarters, then eighths, then sixteenths, Fantano becomes increasingly incensed. By the end of the video, he’s screaming “enough slices!”

Skeletal remains found at Lake Mead last fall have been identified as belonging to a Las Vegas man named Donald P. Smith, 39, who drowned in the 70s.
Smith’s death was ruled accidental. He was identified through a combination of DNA analysis and reports from 1974.
His remains were discovered after a diver found a human bone in Callville Bay in October 2022. This prompted a search that uncovered more skeletal remains.

Smith is at least the sixth finding of human remains at the lake in the past year. This is due to a prolonged drought that has forced Lake Mead’s water levels to plummet to record lows and its shorelines to recede.
Other human remains include a body that was found in a metal barrel, leading to speculation that the person may have been involved in organized crime.

Trump fans were outraged and Trump haters were ecstatic over the weekend after Donald Trump claimed on Saturday that he expects to be arrested on Tuesday. But Jimmy Kimmel isn’t sure if he buys it.

In case you slept under a rock this weekend, on Saturday Trump posted a wild, all caps rant on his Twitter clone, Truth Social, saying in part, “Now Illegal Leaks From A Corrupt & Highly Political Manhattan District Attorneys Office… Indicate That… The Far & Away Leading Republican Candidate & Former President Of The United States Of America, Will Be Arrested On Tuesday Of Next Week. Protest, Take Our Nation Back!”
