The Walking Dead started with the story of Rick Grimes played by Andrew Lincoln. As the story progressed, after 8 seasons leading the show, Lincoln said goodbye and made his exit in season 9 of the post-apocalyptic horror series. But that wasn’t the end of the story for either Rick Grimes or Andrew Lincoln. The star was preparing to join the cast of The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Lived.

And Black Panther star Danai Gurira was set to join the second movie in the trilogy, after exiting the show in season 10. But neither Lincoln nor the creators were happy to waste so much time before the character of Michonne, played by Gurira, could reunite with Grimes in the story.

It is not every day that one gets to witness the marvel of a universe getting built from the ground up and living to see its completion. Andrew Lincoln was there from Day 1 and he helped build the story up from Ground Zero. So for The Walking Dead patriarch, putting his back into the franchise for 14 long years seemed like enough for one lifetime.

As such, when fans began to relive the undead universe through the eyes of Rick and Michonne in The Ones Who Live, it was only natural to be curious as to how long this reunion would last before the other shoe dropped like an anvil before the audience’s very eyes.

The creator of The Walking Dead comics, Robert Kirkman may be a man of great imagination and invaluable talent but even legends like him often run into a roadblock in their creative journey. The resulting product often ends in a cul-de-sac that in hindsight looks as bleak as rain in the winters.

However, for Kirkman, the stars and moons aligned perfectly to ensure he fulfilled his destiny. So even though the comic genius served up a dose of X-Files-inspired drama along with his undead creation, in the end, it was his original vision that persevered and spawned a universe that is yet to die down in critical acclaim and fan frenzy.

Over its decade-long run and spawning numerous spin-offs, The Walking Dead has secured its place as one of the most successful TV series. Adapted from the comic book by Frank Darabont, the post-apocalyptic horror show delves into the harrowing struggles of survival in the midst of a zombie apocalypse.
As the name and the concept of the show suggest, it witnessed the demise of several characters throughout its 11-season journey. These deaths are often portrayed in the most heart-wrenching and brutal manner imaginable, leaving fans devastated.

However, when the decision was made to kill off Merritt Wever’s character, the showrunners were unprepared for the immense backlash that followed from the LGBTQ community. Even the actress herself was taken aback by the audience’s reaction.

AMC Networks’ plans to submit the zombie spinoff “The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live” as a limited series for the Emmys have been killed.
The cable network had announced plans to submit the six-episode spinoff, created by Scott M. Gimple, Danai Gurira, and Andrew Lincoln, for outstanding limited or anthology series at the Primetime Emmys. However, Variety has learned exclusively from two sources with direct knowledge that the show is ineligible to submit in the category.
In 2021, the Television Academy defined what constitutes a limited or anthology series, stating that the story must be resolved within its season without any ongoing storylines. This criteria affected past winners, such as the second season of “The White Lotus,” which was required to compete as a drama due to Jennifer Coolidge’s recurring character. English actor Andrew Lincoln came into prominence with shows like This Life and Teachers, before becoming popular because of his role in the Christmas rom-com, Love Actually (2003). He played the role of a man in love with his best friend’s wife, opposite Kiera Knightley, and his confession was one for the books. That day, we all fell in love with Mark, and in extension, Andrew Lincoln.

But after making his Mark with the rom-com, Lincoln took a drastic turn, when he landed the AMC show, The Walking Dead. Playing the lead role of Rick Grimes, the actor became a household name, as he walked through a zombie-infested post-apocalyptic world with a g*n slung on his shoulder.

The legend of The Walking Dead is impossible to contend with. Despite the never-ending run of seasons and storylines, the show never fails to stop the onslaught of love and adoration from an ever-growing fanbase.
While Andrew Lincoln goes around town playing everyone’s favorite post-apocalyptic messiah, the rest of the cast elevates the quality of the series which has managed to survive through the over-saturated genre of zombies and the undead.

While filming the first season of The Walking Dead, the ragtag crew of survivors that would later go on to become more important to each other than family almost had the Swat team run them down. During the second episode shoot, a sequence involved handcuffing Michael Rooker‘s character Merle Dixon to the roof of a building in the middle of zombie-infested Atlanta.

Right from the get-go, Stranger Things captivated its audience entirely. Much like Vecna, the series has enchanted its fans, ensuring they return whenever they are in need of some spine-tingling entertainment. The sci-fi horror drama is nearing its conclusion, with the highly anticipated fifth and final season set to debut on Netflix next year.

And if the reports are true, Stranger Things season 5 is bringing a renowned filmmaker out of “retirement” – Frank Darabont. If you didn’t already know, the man is responsible for helming one of the finest films in Hollywood, The Shawshank Redemption. Having him direct a few episodes of Stranger Things would be a move in the show’s favor. However, his fans don’t seem too excited about this alleged job.

Known for his role as Carl Grimes on “The Walking Dead,” Chandler Riggs is back this month in the brand new fan film The Spider, which just shattered 1 million views on YouTube.
It’s not hard to see why, as the 9-minute short imagines Spider-Man as a Cronenbergian body horror movie! You can watch The Spider down below to join the million+ other viewers.
Chandler Riggs plays a new version of Peter Parker in the short from writer/director Andy Chen, and his origin story is much the same as we’ve seen before. Peter gets bitten by a spider, and he starts to realize that he’s gained some pretty wild super-powers as a result.
The Spider starts off innocently enough, with Riggs’s Peter Parker taking to the skies like Toby Maguire and Tom Holland before him. But it’s not long before things, well, take a turn…...

Carol Peletier, played by Melissa McBride, is arguably the most riveting character in The Walking Dead franchise.
Calculating and cold-hearted at times but comforting when she needs to be, Carol walks the line between hero and anti-hero, never once failing to bring pathos to her character.
Imagine the intrigue of fans when AMC Networks announced that The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 2 will be subtitled "The Book of Carol."
Hmm. We've got to do something about that title.
What does "The Book of Carol" mean, anyway? Is it a biblical allusion like The Book of Enoch or The Book of Eli?
Or is "The Book of Carol" in reference to a book Carol is writing during her time away from the original Grimes clan, perhaps a book of poetry inspired by non-confrontational walkers?
Carol's presence on The Walking Dead, while mesmerizing, is not exactly a strong narrative pull, at least as a singular protagonist.

From venue changes and the pandemic to political backlash and the threat of litigation, Salem Horror Fest founder and director Kay Lynch has never been one to back down. The festival’s seventh annual event, which kicked off last night at Salem’s Peabody Essex Museum, was further proof of her resilience.
After its original headliner, Hocus Pocus star Kathy Najimy, canceled with less than 48 hours notice, the festival’s entire opening night ceremony was restructured. On lieu of the original $50 ticket charge, the program was made free (with the option to make a donation), costing the festival an untold amount of money.
But the show must go on — and it did so in spectacular fashion with horror icon Linnea Quigley sitting down for a live interview, while the Hocus Pocus screening was replaced by The People’s Joker, previously scheduled to be the festival’s closing film.

"You can talk to me. What did we say about responsibility, Peter?" This ain't your Aunt May's Spider-Man. Now available to watch online is a 10-minue short film called The Spider, described as a "horror take on Spider-Man." Joining the other two spider horror films this year - Sting and Infested. Written and directed by Andy Chen, an up-and-coming young filmmaker who goes under the name "Locust Garden" on social media, the short film features a legit cast. Chandler Riggs (seen in "The Walking Dead" & "A Million Little Things") stars as Peter, with Holgie Forrester, Carl Addicott, Matthew Tyler Vorce, Ben Thomas, and Caylee Cowan. It is an entirely fan-made, non-profit film inspired by Spider-Man. It gets really dark at the end, going down a path similar to Cronenberg's The Fly, which is exactly what I was hoping to see in this short. Super disgusting! Sony would never do anything...

Berry and Morgan collaborated for the first time in the sci-fi series Extant. The project saw Berry playing an astronaut returning to Earth after a year in space. And although Berry was used to being on the big screen, the show’s concept excited her too much to turn down.
In an interview with Collider, Berry asserted that her connection with her Extant character helped convince her to do the show.
“There were so many elements that drew me to it, but probably the first one was being a mother,” she said.

In an interview with Collider, Berry asserted that her connection with her Extant character helped convince her to do the show.
“There were so many elements that drew me to it, but probably the first one was being a mother,” she said.

Rachel Stavis, billed as the “Hollywood Exorcist,” is channeling her creativity for a number of upcoming scripted projects.
Stavis is an author and filmmaker whose day job — as a “non-denominational exorcist on a mission to create global change by eradicating darkness from one person or place at a time,” per her bio – has put her in the employ of studio chiefs, movie stars and global political figures.
Stavis’ work ranges from the personal and therapeutic to paranormal investigations, and content makers are taking notice. Stavis is currently in the casting phase for her feature directorial debut “Da Wee Do Wa,” for which she also wrote the script. The film explores generational trauma suffered by women in the context of body horror. XYZ Films is in the mix to produce the project. Danny Boyle's lo-fi 2002 zombie apocalypse film "28 Days Later" caused a stir in the horror community for its grainy digital photography (shot by Anthony Dod Mantle) and for its introduction of "fast zombies" into the pop vernacular. The zombies in "28 Days Later" were, unlike most movie zombies seen up to that point, fast-moving and vicious rather than mindless and shambling. It is credited for breathing new life into the zombie genre, followed as it was by other zombie hits like the "Dawn of the Dead" remake, George Romero's "Land of the Dead," and the hit 2010 series "The Walking Dead." "28 Days Later" also tapped into a lot of America's post-9/11 ennui, presenting hard-edged images of urban desolation. Everyone felt like the world had ended, and Boyle aesthetically agreed.
"28 Days Later," penned by "Civil War" director Alex Garland, was followed by a sequel in 2007 called "28 Weeks Later,...

The marketing campaign for Neon’s upcoming horror movie Longlegs isn’t getting any less strange, with the second part of last week’s cryptic teaser video and poster arriving today.

This post contains spoilers for "Fallout" season 1.
In its first season, Prime Video's adaptation of the hugely popular video game series "Fallout" follows several heroes and villains who are still working to understand what's real in their worlds. Walton Goggins' movie star character, Cooper Howard, slowly comes to realize that America is making up an apocalypse to sell back to itself, while Brotherhood of Steel squire Maximus quickly learns that the powerful men he idolized as a kid aren't all they're cracked up to be. It's Ella Purnell's Vault-dweller Lucy, though, who gets the biggest reality check when she leaves her underground dwelling to explore a ruthless world with no place for the chipper sense of entitlement she was taught to convey.
Given the themes of the series, it's fitting that it's just as hard to tell what's real and what's not behind-the-scenes of "Fallout" as it is in front of the camera.

Epic war-time survival tale “The Guns of Muschu” has already assembled a weighty cast ahead of a production start in the first quarter of 2025.
The film is an adaptation of the non-fiction book “The Guns of Muschu,” written by Don Dennis, with an adapted screenplay by Tom Broadhurst and Jack Brislee (“Danger Close: The Battle of Long Tan”). The narrative brings to life a pivotal chapter of Australian war history with gritty authenticity, recounting the high body count Operation Copper, a mission during WWII when Australian and New Zealand troops were sent into the jungles of Papua New Guinea.
The objective of the mission was to investigate the Japanese defenses on Muschu Island, capture a Japanese officer for interrogation and discover the location of two naval guns on the island that were protecting a harbor. Eight commandos were landed as part of the operation, but only one survived.

The Walking Dead was a massive hit among fans when it first aired on AMC, and Frank Darabont was responsible for overseeing the project and making sure the story comes to life on the small screen. As a veteran horror film director and avid fan of the source material, he helped launch the franchise.
The Walking Dead
Unfortunately, he and AMC did not see eye to eye which ended up with him getting fired from the show. Just before the second season wrapped up, the showrunner was terminated. The word was that he found difficulty working on TV sets as he’s more used to films.

There are few sub-genres in gaming as satisfying, thrilling, and gruesome as zombie games. The adrenaline-inducing experience of killing hordes of enemies is something that can make a title feel so good, that TV shows adapt to the source material.
The Last of Us, for instance, is one of those games that combines the thrill of the undead with a heartwarming story. Similarly, many zombie games have taken the industry by storm, and here are 8 of the best games that should be on your list if you’re someone who can’t wait to shoot, dodge, and shed a tear against the undead.
8. Dead Rising 2 You can even attach chainsaws to motorcycle handles. Just saying.
While the franchise itself is great, Dead Rising 2 has one of the goofiest mechanics in a zombie game, while a story that has a clock ticking makes things equally tense. Set in a shopping mall...

The Last of Us franchise has become a cultural phenomenon nowadays. Everyone is talking about it, and everyone wants to experience it. This became possible thanks to the incredible HBO series that was released in early 2023. Fans everywhere loved it, and newcomers felt so infatuated that they were enticed to try out the games.
But fans trying the games is one thing, and actors who would play certain roles in the adaptations of games trying them out is another. It just shows the dedication of an actor to get the feel of the role they would be playing. This is what one of the actors playing a crucial role in The Last of Us Season 2 did, and she seems to have loved the game.

Every time a movie buff hears the name of Marvel’s Ghost Rider, perhaps the first name to ring the bell must be Nicolas Cage’s, for he embodied the anti-hero the most immaculately in his own solo movie series on the character. In fact, his performance was so on-point as Johnny Blaze that many would argue that no one could embody him better than Cage.
Ghost Rider in the comics.
But Cage couldn’t have pulled off this incredible feat just like that. If anything, he went to great lengths and did whatever it required to channel his inner Blaze to give fans as remarkable a performance as he did. And these great lengths that he went to have made it more than evident that perhaps no other actor could play the anti-hero better than the 60-year-old legend.

Even three decades after its release, Frank Darabont’s The Shawshank Redemption remains the highest-rated film on IMDb and arguably the best Stephen King movie adaptation to date. While it failed to make it big at the box office upon its release, following the stiff competition and the general attitude of the public towards prison films, the time has been kind to this acclaimed drama.
Apart from Darabont and his brilliance as a filmmaker, we’ve also the late Allen Greene to thank for this impeccable adaptation, as without Greene, the end product would’ve been drastically different.

The Shawshank Redemption is one of the most beloved, and critically acclaimed, films of all time. On top of having an excellent cast; including Morgan Freeman, Tim Robbins, Clancy Brown, and Bob Gunton, it was also directed by Frank Darabont, who is best known for his work in The Walking Dead.
Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman in a still from The Shawshank Redemption
Even though the film is a thriller, it almost has a lighthearted essence to it, which makes audiences love it all the more. It has an excellent approach to storytelling, showing the worst sides of humanity being overshadowed by a glimmer of hope. All of these aspects have helped the film become the highest-rated film on IMDb, holding a score of 9.3.
Despite this, the film had a very poor run at the box office when it was initially released. It would seem that Robbins has a theory about why this happened.

Among all the horror-thrillers that have caught hold of fans to the core, Chandler Riggs’ The Spider seems to gaining an edge. A short fanmade film with a legit cast that actually nailed it, this movie has been inspired by none other than the beloved friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, though it differs in wide ranges when it comes to the themes and genre.
The Spider (2024).
That said, this version is a darker take on the web-slinger and is actually a horror movie from the up-and-coming young filmmaker, Andy Chen. Nonetheless, fans’ reactions to this short film are nothing short of spectacular, with many of them even giving this “horror take on Spider-Man” perfect scores for everything — from the cast to the storyline to the special effects and whatnot.

Slash teams up with composer Bear McCreary for an epic new song “The End of Tomorrow” from the latter’s forthcoming album, The Singularity, arriving May 3rd.
The near-11-minute track opens with an instrumental orchestral intro before Slash’s guitar cuts through the mix. His tone and style are immediately recognizable, with McCreary entrusting the Guns N’ Roses axeman with the main melodic lines in the arrangement.

Bear’s brother, Brendan McCreary, contributes lead vocals to the track and assumes a prominent role, as the song traverses many movements and cinematic turns — not surprising given Bear’s background in film, television, and video game scores.
For those approaching the song via Slash’s notable guest spot — namely Gn’R fans — “The End of Tomorrow” immediately recalls “November Rain” in its maximalism and narrative weight, and the Use Your Illusion masterpiece was a direct influence according to McCreary.
