Her parents -- I suppose they are supposed to be her parents -- tell Lea Giunchi to stop reading books and get on with her darning. Annoyed but obedient, she proceeds to do so. However, the ball of yarn she has been using disappears -- it's stuck to the back of her skirt -- and she rampages through the house, looking for it.
Here's another of the overlooked lady clowns of the era. Miss Giunchi could not only do comedy, she could do fine drama work -- she appears in the 1913 version of QUO VADIS -- and direct. In fact, she directed this one, which is a fine bit of destructive Italian slapstick, as well as having a character in the center who is, for once, not insane. A fine short comedy.
