This story is movingly honest and rich beyond words. I can't image living someplace so beautiful and at the same time so removed, and then having to leave in order to find work out in the world. The stories about getting ready to leave their childhood and home and friends and family behind left me feeling knots in my stomach like I was eighteen again, and getting ready to do the same thing. Since that was over thirty years ago for me, that's saying something.
Pros: beautiful shots of Hana, surf at Koki beach, the people of Hana, compelling stories told from the heart
Cons: no Part 2 (the lives of these people were compelling, not to be a voyeur, but I'd watch a part 2 about this)
