The mechanical lion, the bear toy, the Darth Vader lamp and the Slim-Fast bottle seen in this film belonged to Imelda in real life.
Martin Villeneuve, Antoine Bertrand and Marc-François Blondin met each other at a film festival in France back in 2013, and have remained good friends ever since. When the time came to cast cousin Louis and brother Claude for Imelda 6: les pilules (2022), Villeneuve could only think of Bertrand and Blondin.
The pill bottle used as a prop belonged to Imelda in real life, though placebos were used for actor Antoine Bertrand to ingest.
On top of playing the lead role of Imelda, Martin Villeneuve is also portraying the judge featured on Imelda's old TV set. Villeneuve's brother, a judge at the Superior Court of Quebec in real life, was set to make this cameo, but had to cancel the day before shooting. Martin Villeneuve therefore had to don the judge's robe and go through aging makeup to play the part himself.
Martin Villeneuve could not shoot this film in his grandmother's real house, since the property was under renovation at the time filming took place. Therefore, he got the next best thing: the neighbors' house, which was built around the same period (1900) with a similar architecture.
