Crate and Barrel!
mgconroy8 May 2022
I was a bit disappointed that my two favorite characters from the Amazon series did not make the cut, so imagine my glee when Crate and Barrel appear in the fourth episode. More C & B and less Maddie, please. I like Maddie as a secondary character, but as a focal point, she is the weak link; she is just not believable as an LA cop.

3 words: CRATE and BARREL!

Loved seeing C&B in this episode! I admit I have missed LT, J Edgar, and some of the 'old crew' in the detective squad. Agree with other reviewers about Maddie: her sourpuss face and story line distracts from an otherwise great series. Wish she was delegated to a minor secondary storyline.

The game is afoot

A better episode, well paced, significant plot progression and some solid investigative work.

Bosch employs the 'Baker Street Pensioners' to find out more about what Rogers and the Russians are up to, Maddie agonises over the victim from her Thai Town visit and Honey defends a wrongly identified man.

The Old Cliffhanger

This is a nicely tuned episode. One almost feels sorry for Rogers as those Russian jackals close in on him. But not that much. Of course, something is going on with Vane and his wishes as Bosch realizes that there really may be an heir to the fortune--that junior had some left behinds. Now Harry has infiltrated a gas reserve and discovers where Rogers' extra cash is coming from. Honey helps a man who was accused of a crime through voice recognition. This seems like a red herring. Maddie slinks around all guilty about the rape victim. I wish she had something other than that perpetually pained expression.
