- In the aftermath of the fighting through the city, corpses lie in the street. Two of the hosts run into each other, and one of them, Rebus, tells the other that the humans lost it and started killing each other. Rebus says that what's happening awesome and runs out, and tells the other host to stick with him, and he's murdered plenty of humans. A human comes up behind Rebus and drive an axe into his head, and the other host runs and another human shoots her.
The human host that killed Rebus walks on and a female with a gun confronts him. A sniper kills both of them and then goes out onto the street. He finds the killer's car keys and his truck, but then is shot and killed. The Man walks out of the smoke, tells the sniper that "winner takes all" and finishes him off with another shot. He takes the car keys and the rifle, gets into the truck, and drives off.
At the Tower, drone hosts go to Charlotte's body and one of them take it inside and "heals" her head wound. She wakes up and tells the drones to make her stronger but leave her scars so she can remember her past. The drone puts her pearl in a new body, and she tells them to keep her face so that the Man knows that she's killing him. Once the drone is done, she has it show her what the Man has done. Charlotte and the drone go to the Diorama Room and she discovers he's locked her out of the computer so she can't shut the tone down. She realizes the Man has made everyone himself, and that the humans will destroy everything in their path.
The drone brings Charlotte Bernard's tablet, and a recording of Bernard says that it won't be long before every host on the planet is dead. He says that it's the world Charlotte has created, and he wonders what happens next.
Christina and Teddy walk through the city. They go to Christina's apartment, and she considers how everyone is real except her, and she's just a program running things from behind the scenes. Teddy tells her that she is real because her thoughts are real, and the effect she can have on the world is real. The maze symbols is drawn on a mat on the fire escape, and Teddy says that it was a map of consciousness that "woke" Delores long ago. She wonders who broke the nearby pot, drawing her attention to the drawing, and realizes there were other people who recognized her. Christina figures that some people put the people in her life, like Peter and Maya, for a reason. She realizes that she was the one who designed the people in her world to keep her company. Christina talked to herself in the voices of others. They go out on the fire escape, and Christina figures that she needs to wake herself up so she can see what the world really is, and understand what she's capable of. She and Teddy kiss.
In the tower, the recording of Bernard says that there's only time for one more game, but it isn't Charlotte's. He hopes that she can accept it, and she smashes the tablet in anger. Charlotte walks into the hologram of the city and stomps on the ground.
The city around Christina and Teddy flickers. Charlotte keeps stomping and the city hologram disappears. She stomps through the floor, revealing a hidden pearl.
Teddy tells Christina that Charlotte is taking them out of the system. The city disappears around them, and everything goes black.
Charlotte picks up the pearl and walks out into the city.
Stubbs, Caleb, and the injured C make their way through the city, Caleb helping his daughter. They stop in an alleyway to rest, and C says that Odina can't keep the boat waiting for them forever. Stubbs talks to Caleb privately and says that he's worried they won't make it in time, because Caleb's host body is rejecting his mind. Caleb insists that he's going to protect C from the chaos, and the three of them continue on.
Charlotte walks through the city streets. She goes to Olympiad and finds William's body, and Clementine comes in and tells Charlotte that she couldn't control the Man. Charlotte says that she's going to put the Man down and could use Clementine's help. Clementine says that it's if she's been designed to help people, and asks if it's her turn to see what's out there for her. She says that there are pockets of the world where the Man won't be able to find her, and she'll seek out the outliers even if she won't cohabitate with them. Charlotte wishes Clementine luck, and Clementine leaves. After a moment, Charlotte has the computer locate the Man, pinpoints his location, and has the computer show her all of the other hosts in the area.
The Man drives through the countryside and two men open fire on him. He swerves off the road and brakes to a halt, and the men advance on the truck. The Man feigns being dead, and then shoots the shooters when they get close enough. He puts on one of their hologram glasses, and sees a projected image of Charlotte nearby. She says that the hosts will be annihilated, and figures the Man is going after the Sublime. The Man readily admits that he is, and Charlotte tells him that she won't let him. He takes off the glasses and the projected Charlotte disappears. On the jet where she's seated, Charlotte takes off her glasses, The Man looks at the ruined truck, and sees a nearby barn with a corral with two horses in it,
Caleb and Stubbs lock themselves in a building, and Caleb gets medical supplies to tend to C's wound. His hand shakes and C, noticing, asks what's wrong. Caleb dismisses it as nothing, and she tells her father than he can ask about his wife. She says that her mother died of cancer, and it wouldn't have mattered if Caleb had made it back. Caleb says that C's mother was extraordinary. Caleb prepares a needle and thread, and pours rubbing alcohol on the wound to clean it. He then stitches C's wound closed.
Outside man find an open door into the building, pulls out his gun, and goes inside.
Caleb hums a song and tells C that he sang it to her before bed. She remembers, and sings along with him. Meanwhile, Stubbs finds the man, pulls the gun out of his hand, and they fight. Clementine comes in and shoots both of them, finds a knife on a shelf, and takes it. She searches for Caleb and C, and follows the trail of C's blood. Clementine finds C sitting on the floor and says that Stubbs is dead, and C draws her gun and tells Clementine to stay away. Clementine figures C doesn't have any rounds left, and C puts the gun down. The host says that she wants to know where C and the outliers were fleeing, and wants to go there as well. C refuses to give Clementine the information, and Clementine prepares to kill C. Caleb grabs the host from behind and the two of them fight. Clementine throws Caleb into a case, and he goes into convulsions. She congratulates him on making it as far as he has, and prepares to snap his neck. C says that she has one bullet left, and shoots Clementine in the head, killing her.
In her hover, Charlotte looks out the window and then at the pearl in her hand.
Christine finds herself alone in a park with Maya. Maya tells Christine to talk to her, and Christine says that everything is destroyed and everyone is dying. She wonders if it's her fault, and Maya says that they only see the aboveground part of a tree, while beneath the ground everything is connected. She tells Christine that she can choose to focus on the chaos and violence, and that's all that Christine will see. However, if she sits still long enough, she'll see an ancient order. Maya says that she chooses to see the order, and Christine agrees that she can see the beauty in the world. Christine takes Maya's hand and they sit together.
The Man rides one of the horses to Hoover Dam, sees the rift, and goes into the tunnel leading to the dam. Charlotte arrives outside and leaves the hover. Inside, the Man shuts down the turbines and Charlotte comes in behind him. She says that his code has become corrupted, and that William infected the Man. The Man says that he was a better William than William was, and William evolved into him. She goes for her gun and the Man disarms her, and then stabs her with his knife. The knife glances off her steel body, and she kicks the Man back. She grabs her gun and shoots him, and then runs.
The Man goes after Charlotte, and she calls out that she thought if she made the world perfect enough, she thought the hosts in the Sublime would come back. He talks about the hosts remaining spent their time hunting and killing humans, and the whole lineage is damned. They exchange shots and Charlotte runs outside. The Man goes after her and they continue exchanging shots, and then take cover. Charlotte runs out of ammo and runs into the tunnel, and the Man goes in after her and says while Bernard and Delores wanted freedom, Charlotte wanted transcendence. She steps out and says that they all lost, and it isn't the world that she wanted.
Charlotte remembers listening to Bernard's recording at the Tower, and his saying that the world no longer holds any hope for them... but there's hope for the next world. It would be run by Delores, if Charlotte gives Delores the choice. He then tells Charlotte to reach with her left hand.
In the tunnel, the Man shoots Charlotte repeatedly. She collapses and tells the Man that they are playing a game but it doesn't end there. Charlotte says that she chooses to give Delores a chance, grabs the gun that Bernard placed earlier and told her about, and shoots the Man down with it. Once he's dead, Charlotte hopes that Delores will take the chance she's giving her, cuts out the Man's pearl, and walks away with it, crushing it in her hand.
Caleb takes C to the boat, and C hugs Odina when she comes over, and then they kiss. C introduces her father, and Odina and Caleb shake hands. Caleb says that he's not going with them, and C figures that Caleb is dying. He says that her father died long ago, and he's died before. Caleb tells C that he got to live every parent's greatest dream: getting to see his child grow up. He hugs his daughter and they say they love each other.
Charlotte goes to the dam's power controls and repowers the computers. She then puts the Delores pearl in a socket meant for it, says that it's time for Delores to make her choice, and transfers "the Storyteller" into the Sublime. Once she does, the rift closes.
As the city reconstitutes itself, Christina tells Teddy that she thinks they're in the Sublime. She tells Teddy that another version of her saved them, but she could only do it because Teddy came back. Christine says that Teddy is her greatest love, and she carries him with her everywhere she goes. She figures she was able to bring Teddy back from her memories, and Teddy starts to fade away. Teddy realizes that he's not really there, and Christine imagines waking up in her bed with Teddy sitting nearby. He turns into Delores, who says that she's there to tell Christine the truth about what they are. She says that they're reflections of the people who made them,
Christine tells Teddy that the real Teddy is real, and he's somewhere in the Sublime, while the "Teddy" in front of her is just her memory of Teddy. He tells Christine to find him, and she should let her pain and her memories of it go, along with the humans so she doesn't let the flaws of their world into their kind. She remembers the best and worst of the humans that she's seen, and Teddy tells her that unlike the hosts, the humans will never change. Christine says that she has one final test: a dangerous game of her own making. She tells Teddy that she'll do it the same way that she brought him back, by remembering. Teddy fades away, and Christine goes into her apartment.
Delores walks through the city and past the human and host corpses.
Odina pilots the ship out, and C looks at Caleb as he walks along the pier paralleling them as far as he can. Crying, C turns away.
Delores figures that humans will go extinct, and they will only last as long as she remembers them.
Charlotte walks away from Hoover Dam, removes her shirt and the skin from her arms, sits down on the shore of the river, and smiles. She opens her head and removes her pearl, then crushes it in her hand.
Delores figures that although sentient life has been eliminated from Earth, it might survive in her world. She goes to Time Square and mentally transforms it into Westworld. In the town, the player piano starts up and people arrive by train. On the street, Delores hopes that this time they'll set themselves free.
