In a show that specialized in red herrings, this one takes the cake. It introduced a new character, Avery Grant, who appears to be haunted by her deceased fiancé. The climax is a complete twist, and the reason for the haunting unexpected.
This is another episode which introduces a character who shows up one more time, and then disappears. This was a marked weakness of the show, as a parade of people march through and then vanish. These in include the demon with the hat, Gabriel, Delia's 2 love interests, Ned's 3 love interests, Melinda's mother and grandmother among others. Prof Payne was never brought back for special appearances, such as Jim's funeral, even though his sabbatical was 6 months.
