- Anna believes she has found a way to identify fifth columnists: they are acquiring human emotions and can be screened for them. They start by checking everyone on board the mother ship. The Visitors announce that humans will be allowed to live aboard one of their 29 ships. Kyle Hobbes convinces Erica, Ryan and the others that they have to let Anna know they're there and that they are a threat. Ryan is increasingly concerned about Valerie's pregnancy which is advancing at a rapid pace. He has to decide whether to tell her what is going on but in the short term has to go on board the mother ship to get medicine or Valerie will not survive the pregnancy.—garykmcd

Anna's giving one of her blissed-out speeches to the V masses but at least one Visitor on the Sydney ship isn't having it. He's trying to shake awake his girlfriend from her hazy happy place. When she won't rouse he says at least Anna won't have her anymore and takes out a shiny orb, lets it hover in front of them, and clasps her hand as it explodes in front of them, killing them and presumably other Vs on the ship near them.
Anna watches the footage and is not amused and Marcus points out that several similar suicide attacks have happened like this one on other ships, which they believe to be the work of the opposition group The Fifth Column. She says these V's are starting to feel human emotions and it's time for a loyalty test to eliminate the traitors before they get stronger and goes to ask Joshua to whip one up.
Tyler watches news footage of Chad before school. Chad's talking about Anna's pending announcement that the Vs are launching a "live-aboard" the ship program. Tyler muses he wishes he could be there. Erica says it's a school day, but noting his jacket and the eyes peering within, she's super calm and says he can go to the ship later.
Marcus holds a press conference pre-announcing the "live aboard" program which heralds a new V-human level of interaction. Georgie and Father Jack are there and figure it must be related to the R6. Georgie sees Chad and calls him their "mouthpiece" and perhaps they should ask him what the Vs are up to.
On the way into the church Erica tells Ryan she can't keep Tyler from the ship. He says she has to in order to keep him from being tagged. They meet up with Hobbes, Jack, and Georgie. Hobbes wants to know where this Fifth Column army is already. Georgie and Ryan say they're out there and there are a lot of them. Hobbes says it's time to wake the sleeping giant, by hacking into Anna's announcement and letting them know that it's time to mobilize. It's decided Ryan will go up, even though he's nervous that it's a suicide mission. Erica says Hobbes needs to think of a better plan.
At the OB/GYN, Ryan's secret V doctor lies to Valerie that everything looks normal. She pulls Ryan aside and assures him it's not normal showing him the real ultrasound of their baby not the fake one she showed Valerie. Ryan is worried about her. The V doctor says she needs phosphorus badly, and the only place to get it is on the V ships. Ryan is now ready to head to the mothership after all. The doctor warns him that once he doses her with it there will be no going back.
Hobbes, cleaned up in a suit, glasses, and FBI badge waltzes in to Erica's office undetected to prove the point that what they need is an inside job and he thinks he can do it. She wonders why he's in such a hurry. He's mad at the Vs for setting him up. He says they don't need Ryan. Ryan arrives and says he's all about it now.
Anna is in a chair being shown visions of horror, pain, and sadness. She tells Joshua to use her lack of reaction - of situational empathy- as a baseline for the test and to test everyone on the ship. Those who fail are clearly Fifth Column and should be eliminated.
The gang creates a fake identity for Ryan- a V diplomat- and get him a sweet V jacket, papers, and fake prints. He says if they don't hear from him by 4 p.m. they'll know there's a problem. Georgie tells him to be careful. Ryan says he will and give him his OB's card and says if anything happens to him to take Valerie to that doctor and tell her the truth about him. Georgie agrees.
Erica drives Georgie somewhere and they both fret, about Ryan and Tyler. She says she's going to take Tyler to someone who he loves more than the Vs.
Hobbes meets with a woman in the cemetery and he hands her a package. She has background info on his "Fab Four" Georgie, Ryan, Erica, and Jack.
Erica takes Tyler to his dad in Georgetown, CT. Tyler is psyched to be there and tells his dad just that. Tyler apologizes and says he knows it's his fault that he and Erica split up, his motorcycle accident. Dad assures him that it wasn't his fault and he's a good kid. Dad wants to know why Erica is really there. She asks him to take Tyler, citing her insane work schedule because of the Vs. He says she's always busy at work and wants to know what's really up. He says it might be time to tell Tyler who he really is. They play Tyler just right and instead of forcing him to stay, Dad asks if he will so Tyler asks Erica if he can. She, of course, says yes.
Ryan goes to visit the ship and after getting the phosphorus he's nabbed by a security goon named Samuel. He's dragged off to the test and fails. Joshua reveals himself and says Samuel, the goon, is also with them. He tells Ryan he needs to skedaddle so he can rally the others on the ground and he himself will put the Fifth Column message into Anna's speech.
Georgie goes to visit Val claiming he's dropping by to see Ryan. He sees that she's pregnant. He asks if she's heard from him. She hasn't. Georgie leaves with a clear plan.
Father Jack goes to Chad and asks him why he waited to get healed after getting his diagnosis. Chad says they're doing a five part series for sweeps. Father Jack says that some people are concerned that the Vs might be "doing something" to the humans that they're healing and that he hopes Chad will keep an eye out for anything hinky. He wishes him well with sweeps and gives him his card.
Later, Chad seeks out Father Jack at his church wondering why he thinks there's something suspicious about the Vs. Jack says he has a hunch. Chad wonders if he should jeopardize his career over a hunch. Jack says Chad obviously has one too or else he wouldn't be there.
Georgie calls Erica and says he hasn't heard from Ryan and was thinking of going up to the ship. Erica tells him not to but we see that he's already on a shuttle.
Anna goes to Lisa and tells her it's time to corral Tyler and get him on the ship.
Erica meets up with Hobbes and Jack and discover that he went up to the ship. She's pissed that Hobbes allowed this to happen. He also gave him a weapon. Jack and Erica are mad but Hobbes says that a realist would know that Ryan's more important than Georgie and if Ryan is in trouble it's acceptable to sacrifice Georgie to save him.
And he's right, Georgie creates a distraction that allows Ryan to get off the ship. That distraction includes stabbing a V though and gets him grabbed by security just as the doors shut on Ryan's shuttle.
Joshua is successful in getting the message into Anna's speech. As she's announcing the program the video goes screwy and the message "John May Lives" appears on the screen. The gang is happy to see it. Anna is also kind of happy when she hears about it since, she says, it will bring out the Fifth Column and make them easy pickings for destruction.
Ryan goes home to visit Val who mentions Georgie's visit. He winces and says he has to go back to work but first he wants to make her a nice cup of tea. He doses her tea and heads back to meet up with the gang.
During Ryan's visit Marcus and Joshua do more tests and unveil more test failures. Anna arrives and Joshua says there's a margin of error. Marcus wonders if the false positives mean they should stop testing. Anna says to keep it up and she'll deal with the failures. She gathers them all together and hands them each a pill. She says those who are truly faithful to her know what to do. Half of them take the pill and evaporate instantly. She says those were clearly the loyal ones and the others must be Fifth Column and to skin them.
When reunited with the gang Ryan is livid at Hobbes and says he better hope they get Georgie back alive. There's no more shuttles to the ship tonight so they'll have to wait 'til morning. Father Jack suggests praying.
Erica is bummed about leaving Tyler. She and father Jack agree that at least he's safe. Cue the knock at Tyler's dad's door and when Tyler opens it, it's Lisa. She says she missed him. He looks happy to see her.
Later that night in bed as Valerie and Ryan sleep, Valerie turns over and we see her fetus swimming inside her and it clearly has a tail.
On the ship Georgie is worked over by the Vs.
